Blazen_AZN
Robb, I've always wondered if you would like X if it was smoother, i guess not. Im thinking you may have just grown bored of some of the rides at SFMM, looking back at old photo updates, you say things like... "George, Elissa, and Kevin on that AWESOME monster Goliath!" Now it seems you don't like it... What was you first ride on X like? and did you expect much?

Twister II
Just now got out of Disneyland, and now walking back to the hotel. DISNEYLAND Started out the day with short lines and new Southern California City Passes. And started with SPACE MOUNTAIN- Since I missed this 7 years ago when I went this was my first time on it. 10min wait The whole concept just blows my mind! The space theme is great! The forces were definitely my favorite! The queue was not as good as Batman. MATTERHORN- When I got in line, the ride was down. It started right by the break run. I got time to see a train sitting on transfer, there was a tag on it that said "DO NOT USE" Any one know why? The train didn't have up stop wheels. About 5mins (not including break down) I got a great POV. The forces and turning on the ride was awesome! BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN RAILWAY- The last time I was on this I was 7/8, and only got to go on it once. 5min wait The first ride was in the back and it seemed to have the most forces! The overall ride was great with the speed and pacing. Later on in the day we got death row and it was much better! SPLASH MOUNTAIN- The line didn't look so long. 25mins The line need to move faster! We got stuck at the very very top of the big lift for about 10mins. The emergency lights went on, but then went off and we were on our way. POV on this to. The best part of the ride has got to be the sudden drops and non stop action! The front though hurts so much when your log bumps the side. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN- Wasn't expecting this to be good. Walk on Well the effects were better in FL, but the layout of the was better in CA. I thought it was long and a waist of my time. Oh, fireworks! INDANNA JONES- This was my first time on it, all I knew was that it was a type of ride was like Spiderman at IOA. 5mins I really liked this ride, a lot! The turns and bumps were was neat! HAUNTED MANTION- It was all decorated and pretty for Christmas. Now wtf is up with this ride? Its more like Haunted Plantation! That is something I'd expect to see in New Orleans, nothing like the WDW one. Walk on We got stuck once, but the girls in front of us were taking pictures and the op came over the PA and started bitching us all out and being Nazi op! We did Space Mt. One last time and walked back to the hotel, then watched fireworks and now I'm going to bed! California Adventure tomorrow!
UberBeavis
It's Haunted MANSION, and the reason it looks like something that should be in New Orleans... well, um... IT'S IN NEW ORLEANS SQUARE!!!!
DisWiz
You weren't expecting Pirates to be good?? Wow. Plus you think that the 1st row on Thunder is better than the back? Again, wow. But that's just my opinion, have fun at DCA tomorrow.
DATman
hmmmmm you thought batamn's line was good???? Did u see the gum hallway? I hated waiting in that thing while being surrounded by gum on 3 sides... like ^^he saud-pay more attention to the lands-Haunted Mansion is in new orleans, that is why it is done in that style. Note all the other new-orleans buildings, and the guy tossing beads from the balcony (always fun!) I will admit-Space Mt.'s line is a claustrophobe's nightmare And I am so glad that I'm not the only one who hates POTC You should've gone on Buzz-I's really fun! robbalvey
"George, Elissa, and Kevin on that AWESOME monster Goliath!" Now it seems you don't like it... LOL! I was being sarcastic! I have never thought Goliath was all the great. It has always ranked as one of the most boring hyper coasters for me. (see below) I mean if you have NEVER been on ANY other hyper, sure Goliath is great, but even riding Desperado the other day, you know a hyper with AIRTIME, something Goliath doesn't have, it just makes Goliath look so weak. And I haven't grown "bored" I just simply don't think most of the coasters at SFMM are all that great. Here, let me break it down: X - I just don't "get it", but the more people who run to that in the morning, the less people in the rest of the park! Viper - Probably one of the better Arrow multi-loopers, but still, it's an Arrow Multi-looper! Revolution - When I remember it "back in the day" it's hard to ride it now. Colossus - See Revolution Goliath - 4500 feet of meandering around trying to find some airtime and not much else. It's not horrible, but it really does nothing for me. It's like a 255 foot Gold Rusher. Think about it, on both Gold Rusher and Goliath, the helix is the high point of the ride! And when a helix is the "high point" on a hyper coaster, that kind of says something, doesn it? Although we do ride it almost every visit just because it's so accessible. But on every ride I just think "too bad there wasn't some bunny hills" "too bad the one place there could be great airtime, it's just mild floater" "too bad it slows down so much on the lift" "too bad it comes to a complete stop at the midcourse" "too bad the helix is the highlight of the ride...A HELIX!!!!" Yeah, so those are all the reasons I don't think Goliath is the best thing since sliced lettuce. Batman - One of the best rides in the park. If I haven't been on like 20 of them, I would LOVE this ride that much more! Riddler's - I'm not a huge stand-up fan, and everytime I ride this it just seems rougher than my ride before, even though people keep saying it's so smooth, but I just don't see where that's coming from. It's one of the rougher B&M's I've been on, and I've been on just about all of them! After the ride I took on Saturday you would have thought you were on Mantis. I do like it a little bit, but it's my least favorite of the 3 B&M's they have, and I only ride it once out of every 3 or 4 visits. Gold Rusher - Pretty decent Arrow mine train, actually. But...it's a mine train! Superman - I like this for what it is, but I won't wait more than a 2 train wait for it. Ninja - Probably my favorite ride at SFMM. Deja Vu - I've had some really good rides on it, but I've had some rides that beat the crap out of me. I won't take my chances on it anymore! Especially when it seems like such a hassle to get on. Scream - I actually do like Scream. Sucks that it seems to rattle so much. Sucks that it's over a parking lot. Flashback - What's Flashback? Psyclone - It's Psyclone!!!! I mean, I don't mean to sound THAT negative, because there isn't any coaster at SFMM I wouldn't go on, and it's not like any coaster there is really THAT bad, there just isn't anything there I would go out of my way to ride, or feel the need to rush back around in line to ride again. Our "typical visit" when we are riding stuff consists of: Head into the park, and go to the right and ride the following if there is NO LINE: Goliath, Colossus, Scream, Gold Rusher, Superman, Ninja. If the Batman area looks dead, we go down there. If we have FastLane's then SOMETIMES we ride Riddler's. We almost never go over by X & Viper or Deja Vu and Psyclone. Now granted, I will fully admit that I AM jaded, and if I hadn't been on MUCH better versions of almost every other type of coaster there, I'd probably LOVE the place. But I stand by my opinion that, compared to the rest of the coaster world, SFMM has the best collection of "C+" rides! --Robb
ncf
You have obviously been too many times at SFMM When I rode Thundercoaster for the first time, I though it was incredible, but now it just sucks
robbalvey
You have obviously been too many times at SFMM When I rode Thundercoaster for the first time, I though it was incredible, but now it just sucks Why am I not allowed to have an opinion just because I live down the street? I HAVEN'T been to SFMM too many times, I just simply don't like many of the coasters there! or should I say like as much as other people do. Again, I'm not saying that the ride selection there is horrible, not at all, in fact they probably have one of the best coaster selection in the world, they just don't have any "A" class coasters, IMO. (BTW, IMO means IN MY OPINION!!!!) Just because my opinion is different than yours doesn't mean that my opinion is "wrong" or that there needs to be some sort of justification behind it. When I used to live near SFA I would go there all the time too and LOVE SROS and Wild One. It wasn't like those coasters got "boring" to me. I just happend to LIKE them a lot more. Mr.Six
Hey Twister! Sounds like your having a fun time in So cal. About the girls not being allowed to take pictures on the Haunted Mansion. I was able to get a pov of everyride I wanted to on my last visit to the DLR; except for that ride!?!? Not sure why they didn't allow the camera or the video camera. But yeah, I can see them yelling at the girls. Pirates is IMO and old ride but if you grew up on it, it feels special. But I can see how someone who didn't can see it as being boring. _six

I see your point with Goliath, im AM a person who has never been on any other [traditional] hypers, hell, ive never been on ANY coaster with decent airtime, so i guess i proved you right. But i really do like the positive Gs the ride produces, so i don't think i will ever find it boring as you do, but maybe a little less exciting. next year i guess my opinion might change, as i may be heading around some amusement parks like SFGAdv, Cedar point, and some others, I havn't really planned it yet, but if i go I'll be asking you guys where i should visit! But i have noticed that you and Elissa obviously like airtime more than anything else on a coaster, look at your best woodie ( ), Balder, and best steel, Expedition Geforce, both rides are pretty much centered around airtime, or Bunny hills that throw you out of your seat and not much else, (like helixes, loops, etc). i just realized, those two coaster are retty similar. hill, turn, hill, turn, hill...... phazan
were girls with the cameras taking flash pictures? if they were, i highly encourage the people to get them in trouble. when i am on a disneyland ride, flash pictures make me REALLY mad. one time i was on pirates of Caribbean and the stupid guy behind me had a light on his video camera and it made me sooooo mad. i kept looking back at him and giving him dirty looks. UberBeavis
I've got a whole collection of pictures I take of people who refuse to stop taking flash pictures aboard Pirates... I've got this neat feature on my camera that pumps the flash up about 30%, and I put the camera as close to their eye level as possible.

Alexander Nagel
Hey just suggestion but I would try to visit Adventure City which is like right down the street from Knott's. I've never been there (since i've never been to any SoCal Parks, ya even after 360 roller coasters) but every seems to makes out to be a nice side-park. Plus it was just reported on screamscape that it will be closed soon and sold off for condos (oh joy!).
ScOtT k
When we finally get to the gate, the gate was changed! To top it off, my phone was frozen, and I couldn't use it. Towards the end, before we landed at Orange County, the plane made a turn around over the Atlantic Ocean, the first time i 've ever seen the ocean. omg, california's on the atlantic ocean?? DerekRx
^ Yeah, that must have been some major turn! I left Philly for LAX last Tuesday, and I didn't even pass over the Atlantic Ocean! I also just got back from Disneyland, and I must say, I picked a really good time to go. Usually I go in February or March when usually 3 or 4 Etickets are closed. I finally got to go when everything was opened, and some things were transformed for the holidays. Maybe I'll do a Trip Report, sans pictures and with "gud gramer ant speling". :?
