abovethesink
I've read that the park filed permits for a 309' structure in the La Vibora plot. Obviously there can be unexpected hurdles and solid plans can change unexpectedly, but barring something unusual, the giga dive seems to definitely be happening here. Sportsdude360
Proposed coaster coming to Six Flags Over Texas! 309ft coaster to be constructed between 03/01/2025 - 03/30/2026! prozach626
Is there more information about this being a dive coaster, or is that just kind of the assumption with the current industry trend?

I was wondering the same thing. - Like, do we have any more info this is actually what’s planned, or is everyone just assuming because that’s the “new hotness” right now?? Though, it does seem to *fit* in what the park could use in their lineup.

Yes, on their press announcement (back in Nov) when the public found out about Kingda Ka, they spoke on a $525 Million investment over the next couple seasons. 4 coasters were named: Six Flags Magic Mountain near Los Angeles, Calif.First-of-its-kind coaster in North America Six Flags México in Mexico City, MexicoFamily thrill boomerang coaster Six Flags Over Texas near Dallas, TexasRecord-breaking dive coaster Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, N.J.Record-breaking launch coaster

I won't/can't reveal source in the SFOT Mgmt chain. . . but yeah, 100% confirmed. it's a "record breaking Dive Coaster"

It's confirmed as a dive and the coordinates given correspond to the location of La Vibora and El Diablo. So it's going in that location.

It was kinda under the radar of Ka being decommissioned. @prozach626 can attest, we're sad to see nothing new for SFSTL mentioned as we're in desperate need for a new coaster. But that's neither here nor there LOL
prozach626
^^It's so awesome to see everyone get new massive attractions and improvements, and meanwhile... Oh wait. We get updates on routine maintenance and park upkeep, though. Lucky us.

Even if it's not a Giga, just some kind of major new attraction ride to bring in the guests. 1

But you're right. And given what SF does with relocations, I truthfully thought SFSTL was going to get Green Lantern from GrAdv. Like, that seemed to be a perfect destination for it. I'm not sure what the lifespan left on that thing was, but we'd of happily taken it. We already took on a 30+ year old Boomerang Or if you're going to announce an almost 600m capital investment - just RMC the Boss! Anyway - I'll def have to make it down to Texas for this giga dive. I would imagine that will be a wild first drop. Has to have some decent pacing throughout to sustain those drop speeds. I just hope it isn't victim of the new B&M rattle.

Given the height of the first drop the layout should be interesting to say the least. I have a feeling this giga will surpass all other dives in terms ride experience and enjoyment.
