Best And Worst Coaster In California

Recommended Posts

Best wood: Giant Dipper SCBB! (And I like it much better than Roar. I like Roar, but it doesn't have enough airtime for me.)

Best steel: California Screamin'. [Edit: Medusa also.] This will come up for debate at some point as I ride it again and ride other CA coasters. Contrastingly, I wouldn't be surprised if Giant Dipper retains its position for quite some time.

Worst wood: Grizzly. I don't hate it; not even close. I just think it is utterly pointless, and could've (should've, really) been infinitely better.

Worst steel: Demon, Kong, and Boomerang Coast-to-Coaster. They each have something mildly fun to them, but overall I find them boring.

This is out of 25 coasters at 7 parks.

I know in the past I said about Grizz being the worst, but I'm starting to love it for being the worst. The past few rides on it though, it felt like it was trying to do something but couldn't quite pull it off...perhaps some airtime? It was delivering some slight floater air.

My coaster experiences still have not changed yet as I haven't ridden anything outside of CA.

That's exactly what I experienced in June. I was certain I felt two or three very faint spots of air during each ride.

Is it because of the minor retracking? When I read about that, I was hoping it would improve the experience a little.

How can someone say Deja Vu is the worst ride in California?

Deja Vu with row 16 = is AWESOME (no where near the worst)

Anyways, from the parks I've been to in California (SFMM, Knotts)

Recent:

Best - X2/Goliath/Xcelerator

Worst - Goldrusher/Jaguar/Superman The Escape (if you want to count it as one).

Best: Xcelerator, I have a fetish for Intamin launchers.

Worst: Mulholland Madness. Ugh. Ugh ugh ugh. No wait! I take it back! Kong at SFDK! No, wait! Ghostrider! No, wait! I can't decide. Any of those.

EDIT: How can you list Goldrusher and Jaguar! as the worst? I mean, they're not huge coasters, but they're good for what they are.

Best - Probably X2 for me, but otherwise it's a tossup between it and Terminator, Tatsu, Riddler's Revenge, California Screamin', and good Ghostrider.

Worst - Besides kiddies and Flashback (dead), probably Santa Monica's West Coaster. It's really boring for being the pier's star attraction and one of the most frequently filmed coasters.

I just went on it last week. Don't get me wrong, most of the ride is fun, it's the last half of the ride after the MCBB that totally kills it for me; it's to jerky. It's those damn shoulder harnesses that are too low on my shoulders. The worst part is the entry to the corkscrews. If it weren't for that, it would probably be on my "best" list.
