coasterfreak101
Does anybody else click on this thread's updates, fully expecting to read some horror story about the park every time? To be fair, the idea of sharing a giant pool with hundreds of people in the Dells is a horror story.
PKI Jizzman
Will be driving by in a couple weeks, is Hades 360 or any coaster even worth stopping off to get a couple rides in? I am also not interested in getting beat to crap while riding either. Thanks Rode Hades in summer of 2014 and thought it was fantastic. A little jerky in the portion before the lift hill, but nothing to complain about as far as roughness. Go Carts are worth the stop! And Cyclops. Hercules was one of the worst coasters I've ever been on in my life. THAT coaster beat me to death.

The pre-lift could use some work but the rest of it wasn't bad at all and I rode in the back. I didn't care for Pegasus much, but Cyclopes and Zeus (minus the turn around) were also pretty good rides. Try to get to Hades early. It has the slowest crew imaginable. I've never seen anyone use their entire body weight to check a restraint...should've recorded that. Please get a video when you go. lol
Brent York
Just noticed that the indoor theme park is "closed for renovations" until the fall, and most of the rides have been moved outside. https://www.mtolympuspark.com/all-parks/indoor-theme-park So is the Little Titans rideable or not? I'll be making my one and likely only ever visit there next week. Also is there a good alternative place to park to avoid their $20 parking? Also, I noticed something with the "Thrill Meter" the park has set up on their website. According to it, Little Titans is the most thrilling ride in the park, tied with Hades (Which I also noticed, is listed 4 times on the same page of the website). Brent York
Yepper. They will try to get you with the $20 parking each time. I'll be dropping people off and parking down the road. Might bring a small bike / skateboard. Tickets online are down to $5 apiece for POP. If you have more than a couple people to share the parking fee, great. If not, park down the street at one of the other attractions that doesn't have warnings in the lots and set yourself in the back. Arrive early to try and get frontish of the line on something. Has anyone found alternative parking within walking distance?
gtman316
Park in the lot for the upside down white house. I'm pretty sure they don't charge for parking there. It's right next to Mt. O and would be a 1 or 2 minute walk at most.

Has anyone found alternative parking within walking distance? There's a sidewalk and crosswalk leading to the park from over at the Lost Temple or Ghost Outpost down the street. I'd park in the back. Someone might have done this last year that I know and had no problems. If it makes you feel better, go to one of them. Still cheaper than Mt. O parking and you get a haunted attraction as a bonus. Top Secret may actually be owned by the Mt. O family.

LeoBruz199
^Yes, Mount Olympus officially announced that they're getting a new ride called "The Wrecking Ball." It's gonna be exclusive to 2017, as you will be able to ride on a real full-sized wrecking ball (Miley style) as it rams you into its rides and coasters. Literally. The ride will relocate around the park weekly. Also, after this ride's operation, the park will close permanently.

RCjunkie
Another sad story about someone breaking safety rules. Boy killed in fall from water slide in Wisconsin Dells area By ASSOCIATED PRESS LAKE DELTON, Wis. — A boy has died after police say he fell from an outdoor water slide at a resort in the Wisconsin Dells area. Police say the incident happened Wednesday night at Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park in Lake Delton. The area surrounding the slide is closed for the season and is fenced off and the gates are locked. Lake Delton police say the boy and two other juveniles entered the restricted area and climbed to the top of the slide. The boy used a sled to go down the slide, but got caught in the snow. When he tried to free himself, he fell 35 feet to the ground. He died at the scene. Police say the boy’s family was staying at the resort at the time. http://www.twincities.com/2016/12/22/boy-killed-in-fall-from-water-slide-in-wisconsin-dells-area/

Mr. Corn
What a terrible tragedy!!!! Prayers to the boy and his family!! I hate to bring up the security issue with this, but how on earth did they get past security guards, locked gates, and get past the entrance of the slide (like a barrier blocking the stairs up), and get all the way up to the top without being noticed?! DirkFunk
lmao security guards. At Mt. Olympus? There's probably a huge hole in the fence to crawl through there. They'll probably scare the family by saying they don't have insurance and then offer to settle with them for a $200 gift card card to Shoney's and that'll be the last we hear of it.
