More Souvenirs! Things to Drink From...and Eat Up!

I was surprised that I bought only one coffee mug on this trip. But, what a mug it is! And pretty much all the food "souvenirs" were from Knott's Marketplace. Some fave stuff bought, along with a couple of new interests. And Salt Water Taffy, too!

New York style CHEESECAKE! Stay tuned for that.

^ Me, too!

A few more souvenirs to go. I bought only a couple of caps on this trip. One being the Ghostrider cap I missed out on getting, back in 2016's visit. And the other was The Ears, these ones being the Pride Ears I thought were only available in the summer. But in a couple of shops in both parks, Disney put together a Pride Section of the store(s) with the caps and t-shirts and other things rainbow-themed and available. Awesome!

And then ~ The Search for Baby Groot's Mouse Ears ~ after I had gotten Baby Groot (at DL's Emporium and not the ToT gift shop), I put him on my shoulder, started walking around, and then saw somebody with a Groot on his shoulder AND Mouse Ears on Groot's head! I had to ask, and found out there was this key chain available, with The Ears attached, that somehow fit Baby Groot perfectly.

But - everybody was finding this out, so the key chains were sold out everywhere we tried. We then went out of the parks and into the Disney Store in Downtown Disney. Not finding it on our own, we got a hold of a really nice cast member, who phoned every store the key chain could be found in. Lo and behold, the little gift shop in the main tower lobby of the Disneyland Hotel had a few left! So we took off for it, and there they were by the cash register. Only 5 of them left!

David thought they were pretty pricey at $10 each, and I thought I should have bought two of them, with one as backup. But I bought only one. Which was fine. And when we got home, I got to work, disconnecting the chain on it and ta daaah! Mouse Ears for Baby Groot!

I've still got a few t-shirts to show here, but haven't taken photos....just yet.

For now there's just A Few More Souvenirs, two of which you wouldn't really count....but I do.

First is the two character 'hangers' I bought. The non-Snoopy one was from Knott's.

Don't know why I really bought it. But I do like my sparkly things, heh. And I nearly

forgot to pick up a "Mickey Mouse" in some form, somewhere. That one, I actually

bought just as we were leaving Disneyland, for the last time/night before we left.

Timing, huh? And the last two....we didn't discover we still had two bottles of water

from the train, until we started unpacking. And we did eventually drink them up.

But it was kinda fun to think we even brought "liquid souvenirs" back, too. I've

done it with souvenir Cokes from Tokyo Disney Resort, truth! So... why not this, too?

I must admit, that 'cat' looks kind of creepy, right now.

Where they've ended up, for now.

Ooooo Imported Water! And it was good, too!

My bottled COKE for TDR's 30th Anny; and even a (empty)

Fuji-Q water bottle on that 2013 trip! (o:

While I still don't have my crap together, to photograph the three souvenir t-shirts I bought.... I did decide to finally get going on using that tin of Boysenberries, for what I'd planned when I got back home from the trip...CHEESECAKE!

And not just any cheesecake, like ones described on the cream cheese wrappers. This recipe was used with this cooker thing I'd bought several years ago ("As Seen On TV!"). The only use I ever got out of it, has been using it to make this "New York Style" Cheesecake. It was steamed for over an hour, then allowed to settle and compress, then refrigerated overnight. After that, the tin of Boysenberries were opened - and found to be a bit mushy (ya think?) - some cornstarch mixed into the syrup, and onto the top of the cake it all went.

The whole process takes nearly three hours. But it's soooo worth it!

Here's a few photos I took of that process...

(I have later realized, I probably should have just dumped the tin of berries, into the cheesecake recipe, itself. Ah well. Timing. And that means I will have to get more Boysenberries, the next time I visit Knott's.

Perhaps in...2023? )

What I use to steam this thing. Takes over an hour.

Allowing it to settle for a 1/2 hour.

There it all is! A bit mushy, but hey...it's Boysenberries! (To be served later...)

To keep you captivated, until I post my last souvenirs photos etc....

Here's me (In A Flash!) during our long-ish (45++ min.) visit to Oga's Cantina.

Sept.12/19 4pm-ish, to be precise.

P.S. This is not the pic I used in my Oga's report. I used "the more subdued one", w/o flash, thankyew.

https://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=77080&start=70 Half way down, there.

Too much light, I am in. But the drinks were great and $$$$. Soon, the group behind us had had enough.

They left, and we got a more lively couple. Gave them TokyoDisney advise. Hope they go. A very nice couple.

^ They do have a neat selection of non-alcohol drinks there, too. As for the nibbles, we didn't even think about eating anything there. Ronto Roasters and Cargo Bay 7 were so close by, it was no big deal about food.

^ Well, you're not much fun!

And I'm still not too sure, what the heck Oga's Obsession was all about. I mean....wtf?

And my most obvious question about this was/is still.....how the heck do you consume it???

Well, it took me long enough, but here's the last of the trips souvenirs I got and brought back with me.

Three Souvenir T-shirts, one from Knott's and two from Disneyland. I like what I got.

So this is it...The End. Thanks to all of you who stopped to take in our adventures this past September.

It's going to be a few years until I/we get back to S.California. By then, more new stuff will be up and

running (Rise of The Resistance; Runaway Railway; something new at Knott's?) to enjoy.

Thanks again for checking in with me and our trip, and Best Wishes To All

for a new decade of theme park adventures!
