DATman
I'm going to assume it won't be anything big, but at some point I think a ZacSpin would be a fantastic addition to the park.
angryemobeaver
Last years addition was Bumper Boats, so I wouldn't be surprised if this years was like that Tweety Bird cage thing at SFMM or something small and pointless. But lets hope Michigan's Adventure will shock everyone and add the only 2011 Cedar Fair coaster..!

They certainly can do a lot worse with announcements... *cough* geauga lake *cough* six flags astroworld *cough* Don't take for granted your still-operating local park that, while it might be small and pointless, is still getting capital spending added to the park. --Robb
KI Kidd
CF noted in their conference call yesterday that Michigan's Adventure (as well as Carowinds) broke total attendance records this year. Hopefully they will be rewarded with a nice addition! It was also noted that CF's capex will be $70 million (down from $85 million they had stated earlier). Reality15
Granted, they haven't ever "announced" small additions like the Bumper Boats, Swan Boats, or expanded Timbertown. The "announcements" have always been for the bigger additions like Thunderhawk, Grand Rapids, and Funnel of Fear. Just something to keep in mind. thrillrider
I am thinking a camp snoopy or the long needed path between thunderhawk and timbers.
KI Kidd
Wouldn't a camp snoopy been announced around the time of the planet snoopy announcements for the other CF parks? I think it could be an addition to the water park, though I hope it is a new ride and the much needed trail between Shivering/Wildcat and Thunderhawk. BarryH
I just hope the park doesn't take out the Big Dipper to put in the new ride. The Big Dipper is a classic! If they do take the coaster out, we will need to make a "Save the Big Dipper" website and borrow a truck!

STR8FXXXINEDGE
While Michigan's Adventure isn't the biggest and best park, it is definitely a nice little park for families. I don't understand why people hate on this park so much. I think ANY addition to a park is better than NO addition. Bathrooms, walkways, kiddie rides, coasters, restaurants, landscaping, etc... who cares! It's something new and and it's one less park going down the tubes. I'm excited to hear what the announcement will be.

Great prices, too.
redfoot12
Ever since I saw one of those Discovery coaster specials from the late 90's/early 00's featuring Shivering Timbers I wanted to visit this park. I don't know if ST is as good as it was when it first debuted but it at least seems to have faired better than other CCI coasters. Still trying to map out in my head the best coaster trip that could include this park.
Reality15
Call me biased, but I've been riding Timbers every year since it opened, and it was running a lot better this year than it has in years prior. They've fixed a lot of the trouble areas they've had with the ride, and was running faster than normal all year long. They also added a single trim brake on the drop before the helix to help the helix not get destroyed like it did every year, though I can't say I ever felt it on any of my rides. Timbers also had an amazing crew this year... Then again, this is the same park that did wonders with Wolverine Wildcat. That ride was stereotypical Dinn just a few years ago, and now it's actually enjoyable and worthwhile to ride. Any park that can keep a Dinn in good condition deserves recognition. KI Kidd
I took my first trip to Michigan's Adventure this year and it was close to if not my favorite in-park day of the summer. We arrived just after it quit raining and had an empty park for about five hours. Shivering Timbers was absolutely amazing. While the rest of the coaster lineup isn't incredible it is a nice little park with a great atmosphere.
Airtime&Gravity
I went to the park in 09, and I had a great time. Even though it was crowded, only the rapids, log flume, Corkscrew, and Wildcat had long lines. This was due to the heat and one train operation. So adding some shade and some new trains to those coasters would make a great addition. In all seriousness though, I remember reading a rumor of the park receiving a new water slide which, while I wouldn't use it, would make a great addition. The water park looked great, especially for being free and at a small park, and considering how crowded the water park was when I went, it would easily be a hit. A Deluge type ride, half pipe, or speed slide would work great. Of course, I'd love to see Michigan's Adventure get some flats. Please, Cedar Fair, if you are reading this, please invest in some flat rides at Michigan's Adventure. Any family or thrill ride would be appreciated as other than the kiddie rides(and even those seemed few and far between) and coasters, there is next to nothing to do on the ride side of the park. Whether it is a simple family ride, a frisbee, top spin, or drop tower(please), any flat ride would make a great addition. Michigan's Adventure probably has the worst flat ride selection outside of Mt. Olympus of any park I've been to, and it's sad to see a park with as much potential as Michigan's Adventure being forgotten about. So a flat ride and some trees would be great at Michigan's Adventure. Even just adding some trees and a new restaurant would be a great addition. Airtime-How is what is probably my biggest fanboy post not about my home park?-&Gravity Edit, what an appropriate avatar change. I'm really not a MA fanboy, I'd just like to see the park used to its potential.
thrillrider
Now they are saying that it will be announced on facebook first....stay tuned. Sounds like a small addition to me. Not that it's a bad thing, anything is better than nothing.
haydn12
We usually make a trip every other year to Michigan to visit family. We hit up Cedar Point, Kings Island and Michigans Adventure. My kids really like MA more than Kings Island mainly because the like the selection of flats and the wood coasters. My one son who doesn't like many big coasters loves Zachs Zoomer and will ride the thing 20 times in a row. We have a good time every time we've been there. Can't wait to go again!
