Thunderhead
Someome walked up to me and demanded details on the new KD Coaster for 2012: "It's gonna go all the way around the park" they claimed, they obviously did not know who they were talking to I congratulated a Supervisor on Iron Wolf and followed up with "Let's hope you get new trains!" She looked at me in astonishment, like I had just said Voldemort or something. I then said "Yeeeaaahhhh I'm part of the Six Flags Secret Society" and she chuckled and gave me a high-five. Nyteowl
While in line for Riddler's at SFMM this group of kids in front of me probably aged around 10-12 kept on talking about coasters that had "head rests". I was confused what they were talking about until i finally realized when one of them said "Yeah this ride has headrests and so does Viper". I guess they call OTSRs Headrests XD. Then a few minutes later one of the kids was scared of riding so his friend tried to comfort him bye saying "Don't worry they make sure you wont fall out except Knott's I was there on Jaguar and the thing flew off so i pulled it back in" . Big-M
*edit--someone's youtube comment on a s:ros sfga pov: this is exactly the same as silver star at europa park the only difference is that silver star came first and it has an extra helix I didn't know that Superman: Ride of Steel was at SFGA. However, this might be the most epic GP comment ever: Once I was in line for Space Mountain (WDW), and this blonde with a 3-4 year old kid is right in front of us. She said she was from New Jersey, and asked where we were from. We said Louisiana, and she asked, "Wow, is that in Europe". We said its a state about three states away from Florida, so she replied, "Oh my god, but that's so far!". So apparently Louisiana is farther away from Florida than New Jersey is. IanKgtr
Comments on the TPR POV of Pyrennes: this ride is almost exactly the same design as Montu in Tampa, FL lol this ride is almost the same exact design as super man @ sixflags great adventure in new jersey This Ride Is The Same Thing As Talon At Allentown,PA In Dorney Park But IT's Different Colors Now we've all seen these before. The funny part is that these all come consecutively, one right after the other.
bigbill245
Well last week I was at work and my supervisor told me that he went to lake compound up in Connecticut the week before and rode the oldest coaster. I knew he meant Lake Compounce but what shocked me is that he was calling boulder dash the oldest coaster when the wildcat in the same park was built more then 70 years before it. CoasterBeagle
One thing I notice on flight deck at cga is that almost everyone including the employees think that the zero g roll is a corkscrew. The convo usually goes like this With employees: Them: "the train is going through the corkscrew we can dispatch" Me: "you mean zero g roll" then I explain the layout. Their reaction "oh" With the gp most of the time when I correct them on that they actually are cool with it. Maybe cause it sounds cooler I don't know. It's funny that before I knew a lot about coasters, I called it a barrel roll. Guess I was always smarter than the GP.

osm
Yesterday I was in the car listening to a radio show about amusement parks, and this girl called in to talk about her experience at a fair in Texas where the ride op forgot to buckle her seatbelt (couldn't she do it herself?), and dispatched the train while she was screaming at him to stop. She then claimed that she would have fallen out during the "loop-de-loop" (I hate that term), but she managed to stay in by holding onto her friend sitting next to her. I mean even if she didn't have her seatbelt on, isn't there still a lapbar or OTSR? She also said she was considering suing the fair. Something that I've noticed is that half the posts in this thread are from CGA. Is that park a magnet for people to make stupid comments?

CoasterKings908
On SFMM's FB there is this person complaining about S:EFK, and how it was somehow lame, this then transformed into a debate. Later on he tries to defend himself with this comeback: The tallest ride in the planet is WindSeeker from Knott's...
PoisonedPirate
My sister is a Ride-Op on Stealth at Thorpe Park. The other day, tired of saying the coaster was down to "technical difficulties" she told a group of girls that a penguin had escaped and was on the station platform and that the coaster was closed until the RSBB turned up. The girls completely believed her and later in the day she had other people come up and ask to see the penguin.
A.J.
I've heard this one more times than there are people... Space Mountain goes upside down. (refering to Disneyland's) I had my own "GP" moment the first time I rode Expedition Everest. The helix inside the mountain does feel like it's an inversion. amy_mel
Today at Hersheypark I was sitting in front of the Kissing Tower. While waiting for my kids, I heard the following: I am never going on that again! They don't even tell you it goes up that thing in the middle! I turned to see who gave me that gem thinking it was a child but nope, it was a group of adults. They all agreed that Hershey should have some sort of warning that the Kissing Tower actually goes up the tower.

Angry_Gumball
I had a good one today. First off, we've all heard this story many times. I was talking to a friend today and was telling him about the CGA event and backstage tour. I then showed him one of the backstage photos I took of Flight Deck. After this he asks me: Friend: "So what's going on with Flight Deck anyway?" Me: "What do you mean?" Friend: "Well, isn't it sinking? Me: *laughing/chuckling* Friend: "What? Wait. Is isn't sinking?" Me: "Nope! Was some crazy rumor" Friend: (Relieved) "Oh good! Glad it was just a rumor but it had been going around for a long time!" (This part I will agree on...I remember when it came about back when I was in high school)

XYZ
Once in CGA, I was riding on Star Tower with my friend and once we went up 30', he closed his eyes for the rest of the ride and said that he was scared of heights. 200' observation towers are so scary. deathbydinn
^ I don't see how thats weird...if you don't like heights you just don't like heights, simple. It doesn't matter if you're on a tall coaster, or an observation tower. You're still very high off the ground, and that just bothers some people. A.J.
The second top comment is more befitting of a "weird thing the GP has said". Joker's Jinx is actually a half-decent launched coaster.
