PoisonedPirate
This one isn't coaster related nor is it really a GP dumb moment but it made me giggle so I thought I would share: I was on my lunch break and was over the road grabbing something to eat and I decided to hit one of the little shops we have. As I looked around the shop I found myself next to a woman and her little girl looking at the same shelf. Anyway the little girls tugs on her mum's sleeve and in a very loud (and serious) voice goes "Mummy I need to do a big poo!" The shop assistant and I just managed to stifle our laughter but then the woman replied by saying in an exasperated voice "but you've just had one" so I left sharpish to have a giggle outside! Man kids are great!
Angry_Gumball
On that topic, my little niece announced that she farted in a large crowd of people at the doctor's office a while back. We'd tell her to keep quiet as she repeated it even louder and louder. I'm just waiting for another trip to CGA or somewhere to post more silly GP comments. Next time I hear "Does this ride go upside down?" I will answer "No, the ride stays right-side up, it does not move anywhere...but you will go upside down" just to puzzle 'em a bit. ginzo
http://www.wcbd.com/midatlantic/cbd/news.apx.-content-articles-CBD-2008-07-01-0008.html WIS-TV in Columbia is reporting that a lawsuit is possible after a roller coaster killed a teenager at Six Flags Over Georgia. In the report attorney Lamar Flatt questions the responsibility of the park because it is not the first time someone was killed by that same coaster. "There had been a previous death on this ride," Flatt told WIS-TV. "The fences were only six feet tall. I'm not convinced they are off the hook." I like how this lawyer is so dumb he doesn't even know the difference between a death ON a ride and a death resulting from someone getting into the track area. Basically, like walking in front of a moving train.
Bolliger&Mabillard
^So based on the lawyer's and families logic, two fences aren't safe because there "only" six feet high? bgeguy
Last night while in line for Loch Ness Monster, a kid next to me said to his brother (I assume), "I want the outside." I responded, "They're both outside seats," and he looked at me with a puzzled look on his face and then said, "Well, the left seat is always the outside seat." ginzo
"It's not line jumping. I had a towel down there." --Said to me by some teenager at Zoombezi Bay in Columbus when I called her out on doing the classic line jumping trick of meeting your group halfway through the line. CoastersNSich
Found this past week on a Kings Island fan site... "kings island is getting a new rollercoaster!!! i saw tracks today!!! i am so excited!! I think it might be just like vortex, and go upside down nine times and will be a replacement to vortex since the ground is sinking! and they will be removing the vortex soon. I think it will be red with neon green supports. Im so excited!! im pretty sure it will open in august! Fill me in on anymor infurmiation!1" "Ok I've heard people saying for awhile now that Vortex was being demolished. Because of the condition of the soil or something. Well what have you heard? Is this true or not? Personally I thought this was a great coaster." "I was told by the CEO of the park that the vortex is sinking. As it does, the Beast is rising. It is getting dangerously tall, so they're gonna have to remove it after the 2008 season. So to fix things, they will just name the new coaster The Beast. Sorry, it's late, I'm feeling the effects of the alcohol."[/b]
Coasterlvr_nc
^ I know this isnt really stupid, but it makes me laugh, since I work near the danny phantom flyers at Carowinds I have had a couple of guests come to me either really concerned or coming to me to complain about guests that were going to break the ride by snapping the cables. When I assured one group of people that the ride was designed to do that he threatened to go over and ride it doing that to make the ride collapse... Again it wasnt stupid, it just made me laugh. YJG(Ride On)
Ha I was in line for the Mantis at Cedar Point and it started raining. I heard people asking questions from when will it stop raining to suggestions including building a dome over the park.
odie
Today, I was in line for the Bumper Cars at Wild Waves and there were two girls about my age in front of me (At this point, we had probably been in line for 10 minutes.) One looks at the other and says "Wait, what are we in line for?". If she would have turned her head to the right 15 degrees, she wouldn't have to ask
KPfreak519
Today at Hersheypark in line for the Comet: "Fahrenheit was much more fun last year. It was enclosed in the dark and the car swung back and forth as it moved down the track." I think he thought that Fahrenheit is just the Western Chute Outs without enclosed slides

Coasterlvr_nc
how do you snap the flyer cables? When you fly high enough in the air, you will come back down with more speed than the rest of the ride. Thus the cables low you down to an almost complete stop, then they "snap" and you go soaring even higher still.
Bolliger&Mabillard
(When I first got certified for Riddler's Revenge on a rainy day...) My Lead: Someone's gotta safety ride so we can open (no one volenteers) Me:Aw hell, I'll do it! Babies! My Lead: Go for it Me:(as i come back) Don't I feel like quite the idiot! Moral of the story is, raindrops sting like a bitch at 70 MPH.
GhostRider16
I have had quite a few people ask me if Perilous Plunge goes upside down. Keep in mind that you can see the entire ride from the station. I had another guy over at the bumper cars complaining about how slow the bumper cars go (they do go slow but thats not the point lol). He then went on to tell me that the bumper cars at CGA went over 50 mph. haha that would be interesting.
YJG(Ride On)
People at Cedar Point have also asked if the Cedar Creek Mine Ride went upside down. I was just thinking did you not see the train going like twenty mph when you were in line. I just guess there are a lot of people who don't think things through. deguy123
I took my daughter to the doctors and the nurse was saying she went to HersheyPark....Devin(my daughter) said "I love the SuperDooperLooper". Then the nurse said "Awh I love that too...I went on it a few months ago. It's not the same one they had when I was a kid, they put in a new one cause it was old" I didnt even say anything....lol... Bolliger&Mabillard
^That's true. Not everyone knows (much less cares) about potential, or kinetic energy. The average person does not know the dynamics of rollercoaster design so you can't blame them for asking a question like that. It may have been a first for him. Now if he asked that if Cedar Creek Mine Ride was Dragster, that would fall into this category.
thrillrideseeker
While checking a ladys restraint at Dragster she looked up at me and simply said... "Is this Maverick?" I said "No it is Raptor silly!" Seriously how could she not know? I had been speiling about TOP THRILL DRAGSTER for the past 2 freaking hours. Plus all of the TOP THRILL DRAGSTER information while waiting in line... Seriously? ~Matthew

pgathriller
Well we've been bashing the general public over some pretty stupid things but I am going to have to admit I myself have done some of these stupid things when I was not a coaster nerd. My Stupid Incident #1 When I was 12, I was at PGA (aka CGA), I was scared to death of coasters and somehow I ended up in the line for Vortex. We waited over an hour to finally get on the train, and once we were strapped in I asked if it went upside down. The operator looked at me and half chuckled and said yes. I said I want off right now I'm not riding. He then got pretty peeved as he had to release the restraints and redo about half the train. My Stupid Incident #2 The same day as incident #1, I was walking towards Grizzly, as I walking into the entrance I had noticed the train had stopped at the top of the lift hill. Being coaster stupid I ran to the nearest park employee which was a manager, I started freaking out and telling him that the train was stuck on the lift hill and that it could cause an accident. He just looked at me and chuckled as well and told me why it did that. Boy did I feel stupid. My Stupid Incident #3 Right after the Grizzly incident, I marathoned the Grizzly 17 times in a row. As it being my first ever big roller coaster I had ever been on I thought the Grizzly was the best roller coaster on the face of this earth..... Enough said At around the age of 14 or 15 I started becoming a hardcore coaster junkie and I look back at when I was part of the GP.......
Coasterlvr_nc
I had another one today, I was walking through the park near afterburn and overheard someone state, " I want to go ride North Star!" Where she got this from I have no idea...
Rct3man777
Well, this isn't a weird thing the "GP" have said, this is an ANNOYING thing that they say. Who can forget the legendary "ZOMG DIZ IZ JAST A RIP UV *Insert coaster that looks absolutley nothing like the one they are looking at here*" Or the "WERZ DA L0PZ?!?" Or "Does this ride go upside down" RIGHT after watching a video of a roller coaster... I know, it's typical, but it just seems...well...immature...?
