Day One - Fun Spot Atlanta

Day Two - Six Flags Over Georgia

Day Three - Carowinds

Day Four - Busch Gardens Williamsburg

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TPR is back on the road again! It's been a crazy summer of 2018 already and now we are road tripping from Atlanta, Georgia to Sandusky, Ohio by way of a lot of awesome amusement parks! Follow along on our adventures!

Today was our "arrival day" which most of the group made it into Atlanta airport in time to have a quick visit to Fun Spot America Atlanta! YES, the same company who operates the Fun Spot parks in Orlando recently took over Fun Junction USA (also known as Dixieland Fun Park) and is starting to give it the Fun Spot makeover! There are already some signature looking Fun Spot Go Karts under construction and I'm sure we'll see many new additions yet to come!

Here's some photos from today...

Good morning from MCO! We are off on our next adventure! What do you think our final destination is going to be?

Diy7ehNUEAAxkwa.jpg

Our plane seems REALLY confused!

DizWAROWsAAlioE.jpg

This is how every TPR trip should start!

DizbdFXWsAAN6tA.jpg

Look where we are at! Fun Spot America! But not in Orlando! We are here at the new Atlanta location!

Diz3hOwUcAAnf9b.jpg

Fun Spot knows FUN and it’s great to see their brand of fun here in Atlanta!

Diz6UpaXsAAheBv.jpg

Fun Spot Atlanta has the “Screaming Eagle!” A crazy airtime-filled roller coaster!

Diz_G_5U4AAWiSz.jpg

Here is an example of the FUN you have on Screaming Eagle!

How many SkeeBall fans do we have following us?

For a smaller sized roller coaster, Screaming Eagle has a HUUUGGE amount of airtime!

Gotta love the "Snacky Snack Exchange"! Good to see it's still happening.

And ICE BALL exists elsewhere! Nice to know.

Great start to the trip, Robb.

I didn't know there was a Fun spot in Atlanta. Looks like we need a new page for the park index.

Oh, and another thing... when we inevitably go on one of these awesome TPR tours I just want to say to whoever brought the Stroopwafels that you had better come on that tour also since now we never get them since United Airlines decided to stop serving them because they're the worst airline ever. You'll be our new best friend.

Marshalls usually has them and Total Wine & More also, but Total Wine (I used to work there) also sells.....

Today was our first "official" park day and we did Six Flags Over Georgia! First of all, I just want to address something...

WHAT WAS ALL THAT COMPLAINING ABOUT TWISTED CYCLONE FOR??!?!?

That ride kicks all sorts of crazy ass! Yes. It's short. We know. We get it. Stop complaining about it. But OMFG! That ride is balls out bonkers NUTS! This ride is just as good as the best of the RMCs! It's like the "Batman of RMCs." Yes, it's a shorter ride but HOLY CRAP it uses every single foot of that track wisely and throws just as many elements at you as the longer rides. And that double inversion after the first drop is just stupidly cool.

tl;dr - I loved this ride. And no one should be complaining about. Anyway, onto some photos & videos and we'll start with a backseat POV of Twisted Cyclone and you can see how bonkers it is...

Here's a little video from SFOG showing off how amazing Twisted Cyclone is!

We LOVE the new wristband Flash Pass system at Six Flags Over Georgia!

IMG_8117.thumb.JPG.cac95d39c4539f8cf66313a96ed09727.JPGIt's like the old Q-Bot system where you scroll what ride you want and reserve it, but it's wearable which works great for parks loose article policy.

I loved it. This is a wonderful experience from the wavy start to the balls-out speedy finish. Plenty of airtime in that smaller structure, too. There are no complaints. If people want to complain about wait time versus ride time, go back to the ‘70s through ‘00s when we had to wait hours for new rides with no smartphones to amuse us. The Batman of RMCs is a perfect description.

Looks like an awesome day! Glad to see you guys are having fun at my home park!

I, also, loved Twisted Cyclone and think that Mindbender is still amazing after all it's years of operation. It is just as fierce as it was when it first opened.

Great day at SFOG!

Highlights:

-Justice League was in great shape. The guns vibrate like a Playstation/XBOX controller which help you know when you're shooting which helps improve your score. That feature is not on STL or Chicago's. Fire was on and a nice surprise! Everything else was working.

-Bluehawk was not bad at all! They kept repeating "brand new experiences, smooth ride, etc" over the speakers in the queue which made me skeptical, but the new trains help a ton.

-Scorcher continues to be the one stand up that I enjoy.

-Skybuckets were a great way to get around the park.

-Staff energetic and being as efficient as possible.

-Log Jamboree delivers an acceptable amount of wetness.

-Monster Mansion is a great dark ride.

-Mindbender still kicks ass.

-Twisted Cyclone is f*cking amazing and had me laughing from start to finish from first ride to last ride. It's really intense but also re-rideable in my opinion. I liked it more and more every ride and the progression of elements just kept getting wilder as the ride went on!

Get out to SFOG this summer!!!

Life lesson. If you want to be soaked on thunder river. Just ride in a raft with a pretty girl wearing a white t shirt. Those Georgia boys were ready and waiting at the water cannon stations!

LOL. we sloshed our way back to the hotel to change as even the hot sun didn’t get us anywhere near “dry”

Fantastic day at the park. Goliath was running amazing and by end of day twisted cyclone was. FLYING thru the those nuts back to back inversions after the 1st drop and that wave turn! Intense sideways air

Monster Mansion and JLA are both great dark rides and I of course loved the flume and caurosel as well. Great park. And I had a fantastic day

I like the description of Twisted Cyclone as the "Batman: TR" of RMCs. SFOG was my favorite Six Flags even with the old Georgia Cyclone, so I really need to get back there and ride the new version.
