alexb123
Has anyone been here? It says its a theme park but it looks like underground table tennis with a Ferris wheel. Is it really a theme park? Is it worth visiting?
WestCoasterKing
Might help if you posted a link.
Nrthwnd
The park is named Salina Turda. I just looked up the words, "Roumania", and "salt mine" and voila!
WestCoasterKing
I did too but I think the OP should've done themselves. Looks really cool honestly. Small but cool. Literally. It's probably around 50 degrees down there.
alexb123
I didn't post details as I was looking for people who would already know it. It looks great and it gets great reviews but I don't think it can be called a Theme Park. And I'd have to travel about 10 hours out my way to get there. So I don't think its worth it. coasterer
I went! Back in probably 2011? It was cool but I don't recall riding anything. I don't remember if the rides were closed or cost more or what, but the salt mine itself was worth an afternoon if you're bored and in the area. cfc
Larry took a salt-mine tour back in 2010 in Austria. Here's a link to his trip report if you're curious: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=919529#p919529
alexb123
Thanks guys. I think I will have to give it a miss, just too far out the way. But the Austria mine looks fun and I'm likely to be close to that at some point cheers
Nrthwnd
^ And by the way. That circular "ride" in the right of the photo? It looks suspiciously like a ...dare I call it.... Tagada...? That would be a wild ride indeed way down there, lol. Or maybe it's one of these, that does this?
