TR: Arcade Expo - Banning, CA

Recommended Posts

I spent St Patty's Day weekend 3/17 - 3/19 at Arcade Expo in Banning, California. Arcade Expo is a yearly event with over 1,100 pinball and arcade games all set to free play. There were also a few food trucks, beer, wine, camping, and entertainment. I believe it was well worth the money. They are only open a couple of weekends a year but they also host private parties.

That looks awesome...thanks for sharing!

We went to a retro arcade/bowling alley combo place called Funspot Family Center In Weir's Beach, NH one time and I almost crapped when I saw all of the awesome games that I used to play at the arcades back in the 80's!

Apparently they have the largest collection of retro video games in the country...here is a link for any of the die-hard video and pinball nerds in here:

Cool thread

Kinda ironic that this thread popped up. I recently had a nostalgic conversation with a friend in regards to arcade games and how much fun they were back in the day. Put plenty of quarters into Mortal Kombat, THE SIMPSONS, X-MEN (the 6-player version), NINJA TURTLES, NBA JAM, NFL BLITZ, and countless others. DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION was the biggest black hole for me though. Feeling nostalgic and wanting to play that is what spawned the nostalgia. Gonna have to check out one of the "Barcades" up in Chicago to scratch the itch soon

You'd love Barcade in Philly. 30 taps of all craft beers and 3 dozen old school arcade games all for only a quarter a piece. Pretty sure there's locations in Brooklyn & Jersey City too.

...As a pinball collector, I always check out the arcades at every park I visit and am usually disappointed when I find the newest dance games and no pinball machines.

I did the same at a lot of the overseas parks I visited during past TPR Tours.

And surprisingly, not a lot of pinballs to be found. Back then. IMhO.

Last day of the TPR 2009 Scandi Tour. Linnanmaki Park, Helsinki. With pinball machines! We were impressed!
