MrSum1_55
I used the following equation: C=Total capacity/hour D=Dispatch interval (in seconds) S=Number of seats on the train C=(3600/D)S So, If a ride that seats 28 has a two minute dispatch interval, then the capacity is 840 per hour. coasterfreak101
^And, logically, there's no way it's going to hit that. Imagine a sixty-second ride cycle. That's a full minute. There's sixty of them in an hour, so that means that MAXIMUM you could have 60 cycles/hour x 12 people/cycle = 720 pph. And that's not even beginning to factor in the load/unload time whatsoever. So there's no physically possible way for them to hit 840, let alone 720. And if you halve that because of a one-minute dispatch time, you've got yourself 360 pph, which sounds like something they could shoot for but, honestly, probably won't hit. MrSum1_55
^I did not say Superman had an 840 per hour capacity. My example was a ride that seats 28, dispatches every 2 minutes, and has a capacity of 840 per hour. You are correct, though, in saying that the ride capacity would be 720 per hour, not factoring load/unload times. With a Mr. Freeze system, the capacity would be around 720 per hour, but, with one station, it will be even lower.

coasterfreak101
^^Oops, sorry about that! I messed up when I read that and kind of missed the 28-seat part that you used. Sorry! But I think we can all agree that capacity on Superman is going to suck.

YoshiFan
And all the numbers are including every seat is filled which is probably never the case, probably on Medusa an average of 4+ seats are going empty on every train. At Great Adventure I have seen as many as 9 seats go empty on the B&M's which can be very frustrating.
RAWKIN_coaster38
I, too, was really disappointed when I heard about this. It sounded like SFDK didn't really think the capacity issue out as much as they should have. I still don't understand their logic in taking out Pandemonium for another low-capacity ride. Nevertheless, I'm still super excited about this. I'm hoping that if I do go ride this on opening day or near it, they'll be on their game and it won't be too bad. And no Flash-pass on this ride please! At least not for a long time.
Jerrykoala2112
My only complaint is that Premier has done dueling stations before with Mr. Freeze, which was over 10 years ago. They could have installed it on this ride as well, so while one side is running, the other loads, and as soon as the other side is done, they just do a switcharoo. Nevertheless though, it still looks incredibly fun!

The theoretical capacity numbers are much much higher than those above, the actual numbers though I'm sure are much lower.
larrygator
None of those calculations mean anything if you don't factor in how many trains are being run. Sure it means something. It means the calculations are wrong. I'm still scratching my head about the whole one train purchase. MrSum1_55
^The answer is simple; were all back in the early 2000's, when Premier Parks ran Six Flags. Six Flags: pumping millions into rides while making capacity suck. Fortunately, we're in a slightly better situation, considering the improvements of the Snyder-Sharpiro administration. atem122
There has to be at least one park with a Sky Loop that's as busy as SFDK, no?
Gav
^But this is the first of its type ever built, so no other parks have one.
atem122
I know that, but I'd say it's capacity would be about equal to a ride like Abismo, and probably the standard sky loop. They're pretty similar.
XYZ
All of the statistics are showing what the dispatch times were when I went on these rides. Plus, Kong & Roar do have 2 running trains as of October 30, 2011.
Andrewoplis
^ Roar and Kong's second trains are usually put out of service towards the end of the season for rehab.
MrSum1_55
I know it's a little late, but I do still have some images of SFDK's haunt. Actually, calling this a haunt TR is stretching it, considering none of my night pictures turned out well; my camera isn't very good at picking up light. Medusa-let's ride! Wait! That's the line!? Forget it! Just get a Q-bot! Medusa is officially beginning to see the B&M rattle. Roar was running quite fast that day. I don't believe I have ever gotten ejector airitme on this ride! However, the ride did seem to be running at its usual roughness. Still running better than back in August, though. The ejector came on the hill that the airless camelback crosses over, in the front seat. V2: by night, the queueing area had overflowed all the way back to the ride entrance. Yikes! Even for Kong, the tunnel that leads to the queueing area was full. Anyone want to wait 2 hours for an SLC? Medusa is still the one of the smoothest floorless coasters. Hopefully some rehab will do away with the rattle. Leaving the station. Within the station, there was an insane amount of priority boarders. The wait for the front alone took 45 minutes, considering they could take any seat they wanted. At least it looks nice from the walkway! (Where you can't see the parking lot) The SLC for lack of a better caption The rapids ride look a little dry, now. Please get new Vekoma trains. Actually, this Boomerang isn't too bad, if you don't sit above a wheel. The daytime crew was actually doing a halfway-descent job sending out trains. It was a night that things just became horrendous. It was a night when I waited for the front. At lease six trains were sent out with only priority boarders, adding over 20 minutes to the wait. A straight drop on a floorless. Much better than a curved drop. Sidewinder. I feel bad for whomever sat in these seats. Medusa's first three inversions are fun, but the rest of the ride is just standard, forceless B&M fare. These are actually the same wheels as the invertiwheels! Well, actually, Vekoma uses a lot of the same wheels. One about one in four cycles seats would be sent out empty, due to not enough people being allowed up the stairs. Note to self: Go to CGA's haunt next year instead! (I dd take some actual haunt pictures, but none of them turned out well; my camera doesn't capture light well.) Coaster Palooza
We will be heading up to Holiday in the Park this year. I agree, make sure that you go to CGA's Haunt. SoCalCoasters
Everytime I see the words "Priority Boarder" I get annoyed. I'm seriously sick of them at SFDK, as the system is abused beyond belief and needs to be controlled. I'm considering sending a formal complaint to management about it, as it's been a continual problem for the last year or so now. Don't even get me started on how badly V2's capacity is murdered by them.

I'm not sure if something of that scale is needed, I think we should just let management know how we feel about the system's abuse and respectfully ask for some kind of a change to help improve our park experience. I can only remember a few times where I didn't see a priority boarding while in line for a ride at the park. But the good thing is, priority boarder's usually only take the first couple rows on a coaster (usually one row on Medusa), which leaves plenty of room for the people actually waiting in line to get on. And about V2, even with priority boarders, that ride usually never has a wait longer then 20 minutes.
