ThemeParkJunkie51290
Trip Report (Aug. 27, 2016): Hola my fellow theme park junkies! Let me start off by saying this park was amazing! Truly it was! Even though I was here for a short time I managed to get on all the major and "must do" attractions. This park may be small, but it provides plenty to keep you busy and entertain. Don't expect Disney, Universal, or even Six Flags status . . . but you'll have fun regardless. Trust me, you will! Even the weather turned out amazing for my first time visit. It was sunny, hot, . . . and did I mention HOT? LOL. All the rides were operating except the Fly O Plane considering an accident just happened on that ride not too long ago. Everyone said it's a "must ride," but I would have skipped it anyway if it was opened. Sorry. LOL. My overall day at this park was great, and I do recommend you take out the time to visit this wonderful and scenic park! *Roller Coasters: CannonBall Roller Coaster: OMG! This ride here . . . I mean this ride here . . . WAS FANTASTIC! You can say what you want to say, but I was floating out my seat the whole time! I didn't know this roller coaster would provide such amazing airtime as it did. I was totally shocked! It may be old, but it had the personality of a teenager hitting puberty! Ok . . . I bit too much. LOL. But you get my point. It was smooth to! Wild Lightnin': Well . . . this coaster was . . . how can I say . . . interesting. Very jerky . . . intense . . . jerky . . . rough . . . that's all I have to say. LOL. *Thrill Rides: OH-Zone!: I love these Larson Drop Towers. The thought of not knowing when you're going to drop brings more excitement to these rides. I also had a great view of the lake and surrounding area. *Family Rides: Alpine Way: A nice relaxing chairlift ride that takes you over the lake. Providing you with a wonderful view of the park! Wack Factory: This ride was absolutely . . . how can I put this in one word . . . DISTURBING! It was just . . . ODD! *Water Ride: The Boat Chute: If you visit Lake Winnie, this a MUST DO and REQUIRED RIDE to experience! It's unique because this ride has no restraints whatsoever. You take a long ride through a dark tunnel. And then you splash in the lake. IT SOUNDS FUN RIGHT!!! HERE'S A VIDEO OF MY VISIT IF YOU WANT TO WATCH. IT'S NOT THE BEST, BUT I TRIED. LOL: . . . OR YOU COULD LOOK AT THE PICTURES INSTEAD. ENJOY! I'm here! I'm so ready for my fun filled day! Today is going to be great! I didn't bring a hat today sadly. As you walk in! This must be a . . . Nope! Not a roller coaster! The new for 2016 attraction: The Vomitnator! . . . or "Twister" if that works better. You shove your hand down its throat. How kid friendly! LOL. Disney? . . . Nope . . . Generic version? . . . YEP! Nice little train ride that takes you around the park. When will I ever get on a ferris wheel? One day . . . hopefully. Snacks, snacks, and snacks! Such a beautiful park! It's very scenic! . . . And nice looking as well! The midway section of the park! You can't tell me that's not gorgeous! . . . Or pretty! . . . Or fantastic! You must take this picture when you visit. Why? . . . You just have to. I just had to take a photo with him! WOW! This was a very disturbing ride . . . DISTURBING! Random picture I just took. I mean . . . this place is beyond beautiful! Such a great view across the lake! STUNNING! A fun ride across the lake! Jerky . . . intense . . . jerky . . . ROUGH! Roller coaster and drop tower in the same pic . . . WINNER! You may not believe me . . . AIRTIME after AIRTIME! I TOLD YOU! I TOLD YOU! THEMING ON THIS RIDE DOES EXIST! Enough said. I didn't do the water park, but I'm sure it was nice. I see you CannonBall! Some theming here as well. Nope! I didn't ride! The classic BOAT CHUTE ride! YOU MUST RIDE IT WHEN VISITING THIS PARK! SKIPPED! I see you over there trying to hide. SO PRETTY!!! I give Lake Winnie a thumbs up! Good-bye!
djcoastermark
Lake Winnie does look like a nice park. thanx for the TR. To bad Fly O Planes aren't running yet. One of my faves as a kid from the Geauga Lake days, and even my mom's when she was a kid back in the 1940's. They have been around forever. DirkFunk
Good work on the video. The ambient park stuff is more my favorite on youtube (like the Coasterbob62 vids for Cedar Point) and this is closer to that by far.
Philrad71
Lake Winnie reminds of a mix between Waldameer and Indiana Beach...a nice looking little park. Thanks for sharing - good job!

ytterbiumanalyst
Great report, thank you! We're working on trip planning for next year, and with Dollywood being our target, Lake Winnie was on the list. I enjoyed getting to see what the park is all about. Reminds me a lot of Indiana Beach, but about eight notches higher in quality.

daveydo5172
Was the Fly-O-Plane actually relocated from Geauga Lake, or just another copy?
SFOG1991
^Fly-O-Plane came from another park in the northeast that closed down in the early 2000s. I hate to say I forget the name. Lake Winnie had one some 50 years ago, got rid of it, then bought the one from that park when it sadly closed. It's the only documented one left in operation. It's a bit intense but amazing. WWII pilots trained on that ride. It has been closed since a kid fell off and was sadly injured a month or 2 ago. Weird incident. This park is basically a small Knobels South. Great park owned by the original owners. Everyone should go here on a Six Flags Over Georgia or Dollywood trip.
viking86
Great trip report from what looks like a very nice little park. It's always fun to see trip reports from parks I know pretty much nothing about besides the rollercoasters. Thanks for sharing!
