AllisonY2K
people who complain about people who smoke in non-designated smoking areas. not all of us smokers are lazy or inconsiderate. some of us cannot find the designated smoking area or it's a long haul away from where we are. so some of us try to find a secluded area that hopefully will not bother too many people, and then try to smoke fast so as also not to bother too many people. and the classic: people who complain about the smoke while walking through (not past, not out front of, but directly through) a designated smoking area. there is one at MGM between ToT and RnR. some try to cut through to avoid the crowds and then cough and complain about the smoke. Canadmos
I really hate it when people bunch up and stop at the entrance to the station of a coaster deciding what row to go in! I mean come on, if you have been waiting in line for the past 30 minutes you should at least have the general area of the train you want to sit in! And of course the usual overpriced food, some parks strict no reride policy etc
peteb
How about when people are bored in line and decide "Hey, let's try to break something" like the line queue fences. Superman Ultimate Flight at SFGADV has the queue line bordered by an aluminum fence with plastic end caps at the ends of the ballusters; someone discovered that you could easily pry these out so before you know it every idiot in line is looking for caps to pull out and throw around. (they're all gone now) And they also discovered if you jump on these fences they bounce up and down, bend, then ultimately break! Pure genius. exit english
it seems to me like all of those things are just everyday occurances, part of the "amusement park MO" if you will. Just like McDonald's serves fries, amusement parks have people, and the things they do while in public. I agree with a couple of the big points here like vandals, line jumpers and bouncing basketballs (I can't stand vandals ANYWHERE - true, I run into things with carts at wal-mart but that's not the same as breaking off a fence to try and look like badass), but saying you can't deal with people at a park is like saying you can't deal with flourescent lighting at the grocery store. It's always going to be there, unfortunately :-\ -Josh
MagnumForce
The only thing I can really think of is people with the giant double wide strollers at WDW who mow down everything in their path without so much as an "Excuse Me" In my experience, that phenomenon is pretty unique to the Magic Kingdom. peteb
SUV sized strollers with mannerless drivers are a problem; these huge things just didn't exist years ago, nor did parents trying to bring strollers and really young kids into places parents would not have even considered 20 years ago. And the attitude you get is "well, I paid money to get in here so I'll run you over and you'll like it". It's a strange entitlement attitude, way too prevalent in the USA. What people really need to think about is mutual respect for others. We're all just out to have a good time.

RIP Psyclone
People who wear flip flops. Yes. Well, at least who then board floorless coasters. I wouldn't expect them to put them in a locker and then go barefoot thru the entire queue, but when they board they have to go set them aside. It's really the same thing as lugging bags and other personal crap onto a coaster.
Angry_Gumball
Here are a few of mine: -Making noise ('yea's', screams, whatever) on a ride when I'm riding single rider style (and having some other random rider next to me) -Line jumpers/blockers (people who don't pay attention, talk away and the queue moves up a good 30 feet or so) -Aimless little kids (unsupervised) running everywhere, and suddenly stop in front of you. -Aimless teenagers who do the same, groups who take up an entire midway and walk as slow as possible, or walk right into you as they keep playing around too much -Bouncing basket balls and runaway basket balls -Seat jackers (Such as, I load my stuff in the cubbies, come back, and voila! my seats are filled by either little kids barely meeting the height requirement, or careless teens (no offence to teens) -Last but not least, 'ear screamers' (those who scream at such a high frequency that your ears feel like they're going to shatter, not from headbanging, but from the screams!) cedarpointfangirl
paying a crapload for food and then it's cold and nasty. Shrieking teenage girls, OMG shut the hell up!!! Incessant clanking up the seat belt lever. This happens on B:TR @ SFoT all the time, waiting for the next train to leave, and for us to come back in the station. Some idiot starts it, then a bunch of idiots follow suit. Its REALLY loud and annoying while your sitting on the track in a metal building!! Parents getting pissed when they wait an hour in line and then are told their kid can't ride cuz they don't meet the height requirement!! Helloooo, measure them before you get in line, those height requirement sticks at the ride entrance aren't there to measure your pecker!!! People who have to walk on my heals or stand so close to me while i'm in line that they feel like my second skin. Has any one ever heard of personal space??!!! Ride ops to busy laughing and talking with their other ride op buddies that they aren't paying attention to there job!!
monsterfan99
My personal ones are - People that scream to annoy others. Happens all the time at SF Great America. - Teens who are left to roam the parks in groups with not a single adult around. I'm not talk 16, I'm talking the 10-15 age range. A week ago, they started a mosh pit in line for the Viper and nothing was done. - People who are shocked you can't bring a 4 foot tall stuffed animals on Whizzer. - Flash pass people walking through the que line, not smart enough to notice the Flash Pass entrance. - Most of all, to me, is people who walk in the center of the main isle in parking lots. Is it that hard to walk on the side of the road.
Guest
When parks dont staff groupers for big stations, especially when its really hot out. Topsins that double as water rides. It seems whenever I go to a park that has a good looking topspin, it drenches you with water =( When parks play pop music in an area thats supposed to be themed. Rides that hold you at the front of the station until the train has parked and everybody has gotten off, then they send people in to the station. Queue houses that arent covered and dont have fans. cycamps
The only ones I can think of off hand are: -people who play with those basketballs -GP who tell long drawn out stories about how much they know about all the coasters in the park, when in reality they are nowhere close to being right -line jumpers!!! DBru
I can't stand it when a coaster is running 2 trains with a short wait, they think it is a good idea to TAKE OFF one of the trains, resulting in a HUGE line!!! SDC did this with Powder Keg when I was there a few weeks ago. Waits were almost non-existent throughout the morning, but then they decided to only run 1 train, and lines became 30 minutes long. I just don't understand the logic there...
Cygnus12
When Fright Fest at GAdv rolls around, a pet peeve of mine are the people who tell off or harass the costumed employees. Sure maybe they didn't actually scare you but that doesn't mean you have to call them lame or make some stupid comment to show off to your friends. (talk about bad gas) You could hear him farting on you too so it made it worse. When we got into the small corridors with almost no circulating air we almost DIED! Mr Stratosphere
The thing that makes me mad the most is when people spit off of rides. It is disgusting and just hope you aren't sitting behind the people who are doing it. John
SFAfan#1
Well I've been working at SFA (Games Dept.) since early September, and I have ALOT! 1. Guests that come up to my game, I ask them if they want to play, they say no, but they still sit at the game and use my shade, and/or mess around with the water guns, etc. 2. Guests that try to steal the prizes hanging up on the game 3. Guests that get mad when they see a Daffy Duck hanging up around the game and ask for one, but there aren't anymore sitting around that I could actually give them. (we are not allowed to give them ones of the flash (walls) 4. Guests that think they can do my job better than me, ex: trying to make me say something on the mic that they think will attract guests. 5. When guests ask me where a smoking section is, I tell them, yet I eventually see them smoking in a non-smoking area. I always smile and give great service when a guest does something above but in my head, its a whole different story!
Kalepi_Konei
^ How do you work at SFA if your only 15? And this isnt one of my pet peeves but something I rather enjoy at parks and thought I'd share. Going into a single rider line and sitting next to a complete stranger and they turn out to be really nice, and they start a conversation about the ride because they've never ridden before. Mostly this happens on Mummy, EE, Dr. Doom. and The Hulk. Just thought I'd share that... Kalepi_Konei
