K1ngdaKa88
From Monday till Wednesday (09/28-09/30) I went to the Oktoberfest with my father. We stayed in the motel one Muinch south. He was there for a business meeting and I could come with him and then I went on the Oktoberfest! It started on monday morning, we left our home at 8am and we arrived in our Hotel just before lunch time. We put our luggage into our room and then we took the subway to the Oktoberfest. What is crazy is that in the Subway station next to the Oktoberfest 2 lines go and each one every 10 minutes, so approximately a train every 5 minutes. But there left so many people that a constant stream of humans came up the two escelators! I don't want to know how it is on the weekend!! On Tuesday I went to Therme Erding in the afternoon, a gigantic indoor water park! Oh, and there is a Slide where you jump! Like on a ski jump! I also made many POV's and the first one is already online! Here it is: So now let's get to the photos: on the way back We saw a Theme Park some more thrilling flat rides Ohh, I can see Olympia Looping! next, the dueling Wild Mouse, which was always dueling! some more sick making rides and now to the reason why (nearly) everyone comes to the Oktoberfest, BEER but you have to walk 1/2 mile frome one to the other end of the Oktoberfest! I hope you liked this Photo TR. Thank you for reading my Photo TR. but we didn´t visited it, because we didn´t had enough time! oh, and that´s the first what you see when you Exit the subway. These tents are huuge The ride is now over, so lets´s go and look what other rides are there too. and a 200ft tall vertical ride. (It,'s not a drop Tower, more like an fast exelerating Elevator! Classical ride after the best coaster on the Oktoberfest, let´s go to the worst one! This Thing is pretty rough! so, let´s go on a 265ft drop tower and a Powered Coaster some more Fun Houses next, a coaster, taller than all others, longer than any other and loopier than any other coaster on the Fun Fair Worldwide, the Olympia Looping! next the indoor Spinning coaster with a cool laser Show inside Alpina Bahn Great themed entrance! I made it without falling! first I almost fell, but I got myself safe and made it, with POV comming soon! Lach-Freu-Haus, a great Fun House an overlook how huge the Oktoberfest is! Is this Robb´s favourite sign on the Oktoberfest? the first Thing you see! Konga, a huge and nice themed Pendulum ride, with fire effects! so, let´s ride it! uhhhh, my first first class flight!!! a 200ft tall starflyer And you can see in which floor the ride is at the moment! on this photo it´s on the 4th floor. on Tuesday afternoon I went to Therme Eridng, a giant indoor Waterpark. I only have Pictures from the outside. Let´s go over to the "Oide Wiesen" (Old Oktoberfest) where some really old attractions are, like a really old bumper car. ... so, what about a ride on Alpina Bahn in the dark? sure! ... nearly all rides look great in the dark Facts And Olympia Looping in the dark?? Ferris Wheel SURE!! Lach-Freu-Haus in the dark Edited October 9, 2015 by K1ngdaKa88
LuminousAphid
Awesome photos, my only complaint is that you didn't take more! I hope to one day go to one of these crazy European fairs, the rides are so much more impressive with all the themeing and lights. Thanks for sharing
TheCoasterKid211
I hope to one day go to one of these crazy European fairs, the rides are so much more impressive with all the theming and lights. I totally agree. The only "actual fair" I've been to is the Florida State Fair, and it was kinda sucky. The rides were really rough, and the lighting was quite unimpressive. Dang it Europe, you always have to one-up me

Well, I'm not running all day around on the Oktoberfest with my mobile in the Hand doing photos! Dang it Europe, you always have to one-up me I can't tell how american Fairs are, but the Fairs here in Europe are good, but more expensive than a theme park, if you ride a lot of coasters! Nrthwnd
I just went to an annual Carnival setup in Paris last month, and spent nearly $30 Cdn, just to ride the two coasters, and the two dark rides. Didn't take long to spend that much. I still had a great time, and a new found beer I enjoyed (twice), so I`d spend that much again, easy. So, would you pay 5 Euros to ride this? I did. alexinla
I love Oktoberfest after dark. Although u are drunk, the lights make such a difference. I went to Wurstmarkt in Bad Dürkheim this year instead of Oktoberfest. Pretty much the same deal with plenty of rides and coasters, but the theme was wine, not beer. Loved it! Next year Oktoberfest again!
gisco
The last time I was in Munich it was opening day of Oktoberfest and it rained all day. Bummed I didn't get to ride anything. This report makes me want to go back!

cfc
I'd love to check out Oktoberfest someday, but drinking one of those beer steins would probably put me under the table.

tanthonyam
I havent really noticed any big new innovative rides at this festival in the last few years. No big new coaster or unique flat ride. Just variations on pendulum swinging rides.
PixelRush
These fairs are mind blowing! I can not believe the actual things they put up for rides, like a big house thing! (idk) When I'm an adult I'm going to a German Fair!

If you are at Oktoberfest, you don't have to drink beer, do it like me and drink some water or coke! Great photos! Thank for sharing yoyur experience! No Problem I'm impressed you didn't fall on the conveyor belt slide! I can't wait to try that again! Thank you, but it isn't that easy like it looks! PS: I liked how they helped KT when you were there! PPS: Did Piers tried it yet?? I havent really noticed any big new innovative rides at this festival in the last few years. No big new coaster or unique flat ride. Just variations on pendulum swinging rides. Jep, maybe the Funtime drop towers and some pendulum rides which get taller and taller. These fairs are mind blowing! I can not believe the actual things they put up for rides, like a big house thing! (idk) When I'm an adult I'm going to a German Fair! Good! But for Oktoberfest you need one day and for all fairs a huge moneybag!
coasterkid124
Oktoberfest, Europa, and Holiday Park are 3 reasons why I have to make it out to Germany. Too bad we can't have something like Oktoberfest in America. But thousands of Americans and mugs of beer wouldn't be a good mix.
Mr.Peabody
Love the photos! We're planning a trip to Munich for March 2017 and I can't wait to get there and visit the Hofbrauhaus and the Paulaner Braukeller.

And thousand Americans and Beer, I can't tell how it is, only thousands of germans with beer! Love the photos! We're planning a trip to Munich for March 2017 and I can't wait to get there and visit the Hofbrauhaus and the Paulaner Braukeller. Oh, but why not in the end of September? Philrad71
I'd love to check out Oktoberfest someday, but drinking one of those beer steins would probably put me under the table. There had been rumors going around when we were there about whether the Munich breweries watered down the beers or made the beer with less alcohol during Oktoberfest, but I certainly couldn't tell if they did. When I think watered down, I think of Bud Light and the beer we had certainly didn't taste anything like that! I managed to down 6 Maß (steins) of beer during our last night in the tent (about five hours) and I was still able to talk, walk and properly function. Just make sure to get one of those giant pretzels to soak up the beer and you'll be just fine!

We're going in March because that's when all the breweries roll out their dopplebocks and Munich celebrates Starkbierfest, which is like Oktoberfest but without the crowds. I get seriously claustrophobic in crowds. I do enjoy beer and dopplebocks are my favorite. I had the Hofbrau Adultorator in Pittsburgh last February and it remains the best beer I've ever had, even better than the Augustiner Maximator. Paulaner Salvator is a close second, though. Nrthwnd
^ I'm curious, but does the March Beer Festival have the Midway and coasters and flat rides, like Oktoberfest has?
