FirstDropJay
I don't know why (probably because I'm into art), but I found this to be quite cool. Welcome to Dismaland.... http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2015/08/dismaland/
Nrthwnd
Uuhh, where's the coaster? ANY coaster.
Brassinthegrass
I don't think I want there to be a coaster...
Nrthwnd
^ Yeah, that occurred to me too. So let's make this, the 1955-58 "pre-Tatterhorn" Dismaland.
JonnyRCT3
Dismaland, the world's largest hipster gathering place.
KarlaKoaster
This looks so cool. If that makes me a hipster then that's fine by me [starts growing beard]

GCI Wooden
That looks incredible! Wish I didn't have to fly to the UK to see it in person, though.
Nrthwnd
^ Maybe they'll do a World Tour of it! (Except of course, the USA. And France. And Japan. And...) Actually it occurred to me, that this thing could be another version of Burning Man Festival, in it's own artistic hipster way.
JonnyRCT3
I could honestly see a Togo stand up being on display here.

larrygator
I considered this a colossal waste of time and not art until I read this. In addition to art there are a few rides, completely impossible fair games, interactive artworks, random live performances and unexpected spectacles happening throughout the day. The entire exhibition is staffed by morose Dismaland employees who seem completely uninterested in being helpful or informative. Getting in requires an uncomfortably awkward NSA-esque screening, and even trying to find the exit required a near herculean effort.

DirkFunk
It's making all the right people angry, sometimes for reasons that have nothing to do with the piece. As someone who feels kinship to many provocateurs, I approve of that immediately.
cfc
But is it any more dismal than Nara Dreamland in Japan?: http://www.themeparkreview.com/japan2004/nara1.htm
Nrthwnd
^ Well, this is still open (limited), right? And it's a tough one to call, which is more dismal? They both have/had their good (?) points, right? And, its Japan vs. the UK.... hmmm... Nara Dreamland castle. Photo by Michael Libby.
