Six Flags Mexico (SFM) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Yay! Is Six Flags trying to procrastinate the opening of their two RMC's? Medusa didn't have as much weather issues as Goliath but still finished pretty late.

Considering they started in August, I feel like the construction crews have made very good time on both projects. Deconstructing a ride down to the bents that you need to use, then adding the ledgers is a lot harder than building a ride from scratch. You've got to be precise on which wooden boards are to be taken off and which need to be left. I also believe that I read that they had to hire out to get a construction crew to do the project. There is only RMC supervisors on the site. So I say that complicated the process even more.

Six Flags Mexico is open year round, right? If so, I say there is a much more urgency to get Goliath open than there is Medusa, since Six Flags Great America is only open 6 months of the year.

Why wait, Bill! Come down with me next month!

By the way - ha ha ha ha ha!

Methinks another tour (Scandi) intercepts your generous opportune invitation, Sir!

In other words...

That view is just amazing!!! But it's sad to see that they chopped off so many trees (that area used to look like a jungle, seriously!). I hope they plant new ones because all that vegetation really improved the experience of riding the old Medusa!

Well, they did need some room to work.

Heeey! Would you like to see something cool? It's not the best video, but it's the only one until now!

Can you notice the incredible speed?!

Awesome. I've been following this thread somewhat close, but does the train not have a polyurethane coating on the wheels? It sounded very loud. Which actually I liked. And the person filming appeared to be a decent distanceaway. Better name could have been Medusa's Roar.

Not to steal your thunder, but I scrolled right past the video without realizing I missed it until I read other comments. An embed is very easy, it's atop the message window.

Polyurethane coasters wheels usually are like that because the wheels needs time to get used to the track.

Looks like a monster! Can't wait to see how insane it is in the Mexican summer weather.
