rcjp
^ Maybe it's still cheaper than the steel track?? (have no idea)
MKvillalba
^ That would be interesting. I wonder why the transfer area is wood. I was thinking maybe they are just reusing for cost purposes but that looks fairly new. Yes, that was my first thought. But yes, it looks new. Old Medusa's transfer section looked really worn out and I'm sure that the measurements are different. Maybe they are using wood only for the car barn and they will use steel for the transfer track itself...
glouthan
^I'm assuming they probably would use steel for the actual moving part of the transfer track - would be interesting to switch from steel to wood to steel, though. Also, the trains look great. They look a lot how goliath's are going to be. Interesting that RMC uses their own trains on all of their new creations now - probably due to the NTAG accident. ZeroGravity55
These trains can be used on existing wooden roller coasters. So they very well might just leave the transfer track with the wooden track.
A.J.
Interesting that RMC uses their own trains on all of their new creations now - probably due to the NTAG accident. Vekoma used Arrow trains until they made their own. Great Coasters used Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters trains until Lightning Racer was built in 1999. The same was true with Gravity Group's coasters until Wooden Warrior (and some of their newest coasters still use the PTC trains). I highly doubt that the Texas Giant accident had anything to do with that - I would argue that Rocky Mountain Construction probably had the intention of making their own trains from the very beginning... In that case the accident didn't have anything to do with it.
rcjp
^I think the thing was that iron rattler (which opened just a bit later than outlaw) still used the gerstlauer ones but I'm sure that they were already planning to build their own trains for the hybrids too. MKvillalba
More pictures! The third section of track that you have been wondering about some days ago is ready, take a look: And the third inversion is halfway complete: There is no photo of it, but yesterday I saw that they are starting to build the 2nd inversion. gerstlaueringvar
Yay! Is Six Flags trying to procrastinate the opening of their two RMC's? Medusa didn't have as much weather issues as Goliath but still finished pretty late.

Dapalm
^Agree. It leaves you waiting for more. I can't wait to see the POV of this. It is my most anticipated new coaster for this year (well, this and Helix). Looks like a really long layout with lots of things to it. The drop is clearly the highlight of the ride, but the rest look to live up to it.
DoinItForTheFame
I am loving the first drop on this coaster. It looks absolutely amazing!!!!
Rollercoaster Rider
^It's Six Flags. Do we need any other excuse? My guess is that they pay construction companies scale (Pay them less by allowing them to work on other stuff while building attractions) to save money. ZeroGravity55
Yay! Is Six Flags trying to procrastinate the opening of their two RMC's? Medusa didn't have as much weather issues as Goliath but still finished pretty late. Considering they started in August, I feel like the construction crews have made very good time on both projects. Deconstructing a ride down to the bents that you need to use, then adding the ledgers is a lot harder than building a ride from scratch. You've got to be precise on which wooden boards are to be taken off and which need to be left. I also believe that I read that they had to hire out to get a construction crew to do the project. There is only RMC supervisors on the site. So I say that complicated the process even more. Six Flags Mexico is open year round, right? If so, I say there is a much more urgency to get Goliath open than there is Medusa, since Six Flags Great America is only open 6 months of the year.
