Jason Maier
^^Also Rolling Thunder did not need RMC treatment. It ran very well (albeit with still horrible operations) after they re-tracked it. Then they shut it down at the end of the season after re-tracking. I don't understand why they re-tracked it right before shutting it down, seems like a waste of funds. My biggest gripe with Six Flags is the number of areas where attractions shut down that remain undeveloped, not just The Old Country How bad were ops at Rolling Thunder? more gripes . . . . regarding Six Flags America 1. Getting hand me down rides from other SF parks (Iron Wolf & Rajun Cajun from Great America) 2. Not buying more land for park ops (they'd have to deal with Prince George's County for more land) 3. No dark ride
larrygator
How bad were ops at Rolling Thunder? 7-10 minutes between dispatches was not uncommon

No idea why they need to buy more land. 3. At Six Flags' rate, give it 5 years.
ericthewanderer
For Great Adventure: 1-Getting rid of GASM and Rolling Thunder .RT was a unique racer and GASM helped make Great Adv. part of the "coaster wars". 2-Not building Hurricane Harbor as part of the theme park. 3-Not building a hotel-or at least allowing an outside party build & operate it. For SFA: 1-Not building around the train EX:Gotham could/should have been where the catering area is now. 2-Not keeping Python. 3-Not building Ultra-Twister. Canobie Coaster
Canobie Lake Park 1) Equinox- Amazing ride but always closed before it was removed. 2) Removing Matterhorn. It was the fastest himalaya anywhere. 3) Removing Rockin' Rider and not yet replacing it with a family coaster. Six Flags New England 1) Bizarro transformation. 2) Trying to build the Dark Knight without a permit. 3) New train on Goliath.
Jason Maier
This is more of a "Three corporate SF mistakes" thing . . . and yes, hindsight is 20/20 . . . . 1. Closing down SF Astroworld in '05 (which cost Kieran Burke big time) 2. The "War on Lines" at Great Adventure in '99 3. Taking on a load of debt with purchasing all those parks in the late 90's (Geauga Lake, Elitch Gardens, etc)
coasterbill
2) Trying to build the Dark Knight without a permit. I forgot all about this. Good times, good times. Also I'd be tempted to put "Building 2 huge new attractions right next to each-other that happen to have a transportation ride running directly to them and then immediately demolishing that transporation ride for absolutely no reason when they ran it for years with nothing of interest at the other end" somewhere on this list also. So now they just have a generic mouse coaster. While it seems to be maligned, I think GAdv's Dark Knight is the best standard mouse coaster out there. I didn't have room for closing the Sky Ride or any of the following (the park has made a lot of questionable decisions): - Removing the log flume - Removing Time Warp and replacing it with nothing - Building Thomas Town only to lose the license a year or two later - Adding VR to Superman - Removing Nightwing My last one is now a positive, but letting the once highly ranked Cyclone deteriorate. On the plus side, it got so bad that it was RMCed so I'm now content.
Mr. Corn
Great Escape: 1) Getting Sold to Six Flags 2) Continuing to be operated by Six Flags 3) Six Flags not wanting to sell it, so a new owner could possibly end that coaster drought

Congrats We Have A Winner!!! 100,000 points for not mentioning KD not getting a new coaster Michigan's Adventure 1- Getting bought out by Cedar Fair (All because Kinzel wanted to save his golden child) 2- Cedar Fair cancelling the 210ft DH Morgan Hyper Coaster (Just when DH Morgan was figuring out how to make their hyper's good) 3- Not getting vest trains on Thunderhawk when it was relocated... or since. I'd argue Hypersonic deserves to be on there in some capacity since it was a high cost/high profile ride. I never got to ride Hypersonic, so I'm not sure if building it or removing it was a mistake. prozach626
Three reasons why I haven't been back to my home park, SFSTL, in years: 1) Transformation of Mr. Freeze into Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast 2) The addition of Boomerang 3) The absence of modern thrilling steel since Mr. Freeze in 1998
