Bag_O_Laughs
Hello Everyone, I've got a unique question... I live in the UK and I've got a colleague that collects beer mats. Now, I have no idea how common place beer mats are in the US. However in my visits to Florida I've only ever seen bars and restaurants use small square napkins instead of beer mats. Does anyone know where could I find some beers mats to take back to old blighty for my colleague? A quick glance on the internet doesn't turn up much other than an ebay listing for a Rose and Crown beer mat from Epcot. I was wondering if some of the "British" style "pubs" eg. Rose & Crown, Bulls Head, Leaky Cauldron would have proper British style beer mats? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epcot-Walt-Disney-World-Bass-Ale-Beer-Mat-Coaster-Rose-Crown-England-READ-/251699700982 I forgot to add is I've got a holiday booked for 16th of September where i'll be staying in Cabana Bay Hotel but i'll be visiting Universal, Disney and Sea World. thepoint4life23
Depends on the bar if you can get them or not. I didn't really stop in any of the bars at Disney so not sure if you can find them there or not.
SharkTums
Interesting question. I don't remember seeing a lot of drink coasters (US Name) at the resort restaurants. If you want to get something for your friend perhaps check out a place like World of Beer or Yard House (between Disney and Universal) as they are more 'beer places' that may have coasters. OrlandoGuy
Not sure about authentic British beer mats but you can definitely get coasters on property of the resorts (they'll just be more theme park-y than British). I would check World of Disney (the big store at Downtown Disney) for Disney-style coasters. Also, a lot of stores that sell licensed merchandise (like how Universal licenses Star Wars merchandise) might have coasters themed to the property being licensed. Good luck on your search! thepoint4life23
I know if you just asked for some out World of Beer they would let you pick from what they have.
Hilltopper39
For some reason I rememebr the bar inside of the Baordwalk hotel having "beer mats" or coasters of soem sort. Don't quote me on it, worst case scenario is they don't have them and you just have to get a drink at an awesome bar in the Boardwalk Hotel, win win really. Bag_O_Laughs
That is an "unfortunate" side affect of looking for these beer mats for my collegue. I'm going to have to visit some really fantastic bars and pubs. Such a hard life I live And just for a bit of clarification, I'm not looking to buy mug coasters. Beer mats are usually given free in UK pubs and are supplied to the pub from the brewery. Apparently they're very collectible with some "limited edition" mats being worth £300!
