MummyAW
In your opinion, what is the best onsite resort in WDW?
disneygurlz2s
I've never stayed there, but the Grand Floridian, to me, is just simply amazing. We spent a couple of hours just enjoying the lobby area during our visit last summer, and I was just blown away with how "Grand" it really is. Â Of course, that is just my opinion.... TheLastGunslinger
That's tough one. I have to go with Boardwalk because of the location, theming, and atmosphere.

Disney Dood
Polynesian is the best WDW resort, no questions asked.
thrillrideseeker
OK I have never stayed at a WDW resort, but I will be staying in one in like 48 days, so I am pretty sure that one will be my favorite ~Matthew
coastercrazed49
I picked the Port Orleans (French Quarter or Riverside) because of its charm. It's not one of the major resorts, but its got cool little things like a nice pool located on a small island, and its also right by a river. ilovesmallcastles
I Always hang out on Boardwalk, i'm so happy im gonna Stay in Boardwalk Villas this July, but I also love Old Key west.
IwantRevenge
Hmm so many are nice, The Contemporary, wilderness Lodge, and Boardwalk all have great stylings. But i'll go with the resort me and my family stayed at when we went. The Beach / Yacht Club, The Location of these hotels is perfect, right across from the boardwalk (with great places to eat dinner, I <3 The Flying Fish Cafe) walking distance of the back entrance of epcot, a boat ride away from MGM, and a short bus ride to Magic and animal kingdom. They are very nice hotels although the rooms are a bit small.
ihani
I stayed at Port Orleans Riverside in February, it's really nice! But the rooms are a tad small. The Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Wilderness Lodge all look super nice! The Polynesian looks pretty, too. And the Contemporary, but that one is sort of intimidating. It's the best place to watch Wishes, like at the restaurant at the top or something. Â But still, like all the resorts/hotels are great.
MattyD
My favorite has always been Dixie Landings (Now Port Oleans Riverside) because we had such an awesome vacation there years ago and it was a lovely resort (hopefully still is!) however all of the resorts I've stayed in have been great. You can't beat the All Star Resorts for value for money though, you get all the usual Disney atmosphere and perks for reasonable prices! Â I have to say, after staying off Disney property the time before last when I was out there, I have vowed never to do that again! Disney Hotels just kick everyone else's ass!!! terrancew_hod
^I liked Port Orleans as well. It's a lot more quiet than the budget hotels; so when you're hung over the next day you're not hearing all the screaming! Â Terry
TPDave
The Grand Floridian  I've stayed there twice now and it's something pretty special. I love being able to sit over the lake and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks in a non-crowded environment. The rooms are great, the dedicated boat service to MK (not to mention the monorail stop) is very useful, the restaurant is great (V&A is fantastic if that's your kind of thing) and the staff were brilliant (although i'm sure that's the same with all disney hotels).  Of course this all comes at a price, but until i'm paying the bill it doesn't matter too much
QueenCityBoy
Animal Kingdom Lodge. Possibly the most amazing resort ever built.
socalMAN123
Grand Floridian. Although I've never stayed there, it is an amazingly built hotel. It's just awesome. Exploring it is a great way to spend an evening. ---Brent
nay
It's hard for me to choose a favorite. The atmosphere at each resort is so unique. Â I love the pool and all around theming at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The Boardwalk is also amazing, and being walking distance from Epcot and MGM is a huge plus. There's something that I love about the Port Orleans resorts - Riverside, because my family and I used to stay there all the time when it was Dixie Landings. And French Quarter, because it's smaller in size and has such a cool, relaxed feel to it. Â My favorite resort that I've never stayed at is the Polynesian. Not only is it a monorail resort, but they have Dole Whips in their food court. Â I'm staying at the Beach Club for the first time next year, which looks like it has a pretty sweet pool. HHN Dylan
Favorite hotel would be at WDW Orlando. The Great Floridian/Boardwalk. Both great hotels.

Sir Clinksalot
Boardwalk - I agree with what the others have said, the location can't be beat and it's totally awesome. Polynesian - My favorite among the hotels in the Monorail Loop and my 2nd choice after Boardwalk. Animal Kingdom Lodge - Has to be a concierge room overlooking the Savannah, otherwise the location makes it less than desirable. Port Orleans - Agree with Joey, for moderates they are totally awesome and I really enjoyed our stays at both Riverside and French Quarter. I think French Quarter edges out Riverside very slightly. Paradise Pier - It's the only on-site hotel I've stayed at DIsneyland as I generally refuse to pay what they charge for Grand CA when I can priceline the much nicer Marriott for $200 less per night. Chroniq
The defacto answer to this (at wdw) is the yacht club.... You have the least amount of children (since it isn't on the monorail) with the granduer and luxury of grand floridian (I"ll take yachstmans steakhouse over Victoria and Albert's and my wallet will as well). You can walk to epcot (and walk back drunk) as well as DHS.. Stormalong Bay is the best pool area in all of WDW. The yacht club also has more balcony rooms than the beach club and boardwalk due to the design. Whenever we go to WDW I'm happy to stay at Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk, but for the reasons above Yacht beats the others.. the ghost
The Contemporary Resort: Bay Lake Tower! Â This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at. We went about a year ago when it was brand new. The rooms were HUGE and comfortable. The pool was awesome and the waterslide was relatively fun. It was only a monorail ride from Ohana, which is a HUGE plus. However, this hotel was probably CRAZY expensive, but awesome for the night we stayed. The rest of our time was at Jambo House at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Â I really want to stay at the Polynesian, though. The theming and landscaping was awesome when we ate at Ohana and I love that kind of atmosphere. And Dollwhip RULES!
pdcon
My favorite is the Wilderness lodge and WDW and the contemporary. I like the water that runs from inside the resort, under the bridge, through the stream, down the waterfall, into the pull. Now I know its not all connected, but its still really cool, and I am just biased towards the Contpo because I worked there occasionally, and I love the out door activities they had to offer. jjune4991
Though I've mainly stayed at the cheap All-Star resorts, we did take our camper one year, and that was very nice. Wilderness Lodge looked amazing when we went through it as well, very nice. I've always wanted to stay at the Contemporary, though. It seems pretty cool for an older place. gisco
The Boardwalk. It is with in walking distance of Epcot and even the studios(or a short boat ride). You can pop over to the Magic Kingdom on the monorail outside Epcot. You can pretty much avoid the buses to visit 3 of the 4 parks if you want too.
