^ Nice work, Matt!! Good luck reaching the $500 plateau! I'm sure you'll make it there!

So, in searching around the GKTW YouTube channel, I came across a pretty cool video that recaps their "Extreme Village Makeover" that took place the early part of 2014. See, these kinds of things are all possible thanks to donations that go to GKTW, like the ones you are all collecting on your Coasting for Kids fundraising pages. And with a collective effort like Team TPR, the impact is even greater! People are often curious about what their donations can help do.....post this video on your social media pages, and let people know that their donations DO make a BIG difference!!

Check it out!

Only 2 1/2 weeks to go until Coasting for Kids! I'll be participating at California's Great America. Team TPR is about $1,025 short of reaching the goal. I hope we get there and good luck to everyone else.

If you'd like to help us out, please donate HERE.

^ Welcome! Looks like you're doing a fine job with your fundraising thus far!! Great work!

One thing I wanted to point out though.....it looks like your signature banner is actually pointing to my page (which I posted in the banner example) instead of yours. I do appreciate the extra clicks onto mine, but I'd assume you'd rather have it go to yours.

For your signature, you would need to have this following code:

[url=http://support.gktw.org/site/TR/CoastingForKids/General?px=1222355&pg=personal&fr_id=1360][img=http://themeparkreview.com/forum/files/c4k_2015_banner4.jpg][/url]

Which would give you your desired banner like this:

Just thought I'd help out. Good luck the rest of the way! Go Team TPR!!

Hey, thanks for that, bud!

I'm not giving up, but I was stuck at 45% for about a month before you donated just now, haha. People just don't want to part with $5, I guess.

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone. To celebrate, the first 3 people to donate 10 dollars to my page, will get 11 dollars donated to their pages.

Sounds like fun to me! Just donated $10 to your page, Dustin! Happy Memorial Day weekend indeed......and go Team TPR!!

Sheesh, the people I know are stingy as hell. I thought it'd be pretty easy to make $500, but wow.

I know it can be frustrating at times, and I've had times where I've felt slightly bummed that some folks who I think would love to support this don't seem to share the passion I have for the organization and decide to pass on donating. But, after doing this the past 3 years, I've learned to not take anything personally, because in reality, we sometimes don't know what kind of financial things/unexpected expenses people have going on in their lives. And I honestly feel that if we at least are spreading the word about GKTW and opening people's eyes to what they do, then we're doing our job! All we can do is to keep on reaching out to potential donors and do our best to fundraise as much as possible. Plus, don't forget, keep reminding people about it, as a lot of times there's a surge at the end. Some people just wait until there's an actual deadline approaching before they donate. In the last 2 weeks, maybe you could also post one of the great YouTube videos via your social media as well.....I've found sometimes if people see a personal story and become more emotionally invested in the cause, then they're more likely to open their wallets. But don't get discouraged!! You're doing a good job, so keep up the nice work for GKTW and Team TPR!

I'm thinking about participating in the Michigan's Adventure event. I have a couple of questions however.

1) Is there still a park admission fee I'll have to pay?

2) When it says marathon, does that mean this is the only ride available to ride to those signed up?

3) Will the park be open to the general public not participating?

4) Since the goal is to raise a ton of money, will other members here help raise the required $75?

5) Do I have to be a Club TPR member?

6) The person I want to go with is not a member here, will he still be able to participate?

Thanks for the help.

^To answer some of your questions

1 You will NOT need to pay for admission if you are participating in the event

2 Not necessarily, but the parks put forth a lot of effort, so I'd suggest sticking to those rides

3 The park will be open to everyone that day

4 The members of TPR will be more than happy to help you raise the 75 dollars needed

5 You do not need to be a Club TPR member

6 The person you are going with does not need to be a member here

Hope this helps.

Look, I'm going to be brutally honest here - As much as I totally encourage everyone to donate and help each other out, someone that has $0 tells me they probably haven't done any work to try and get donations. If you're going to sign up for the event, you *HAVE* to be willing to put in the effort to go out and get support for your campaign. That's what this is all about. You can't just sign up and expect everyone else to do the work for you. I know it's not easy. But go to friends, relatives, social media, etc. It shouldn't be too hard to at least raise the $75 needed, even if you donate it yourself. After all, it's a small price to pay to take part in a really cool event for a great cause.

And with that, I'll bring Jen & Stacy to their required amounts as I see they've at least put some effort into it.

Thanks for understanding where I'm coming from.

Just made a 15 dollar donation to Jasmine at Canada's Wonderland. She is now at the minimum, but there still some riders who need to hit the 75 dollar mark.

Thanks for the donation! I've been working on a cancer event and am just able to switch focus and start pushing for C4K donations now. Gotta help my CW team to get up there with the top teams!

I'm wondering, what is the fundraising deadline? I think that it is June 5th for most people, but is it longer for Valleyfair participants, since the event is on a later date?

Thanks for the help.

Dustin pretty much covered all of these in his reply to you, but I wanted to elaborate a little bit on #4. I'm pretty much in Robb's camp (see his above post), in that we do like to see some enthusiasm and effort towards the fundraising process, as that's what this event is all about. You'd be surprised how quickly you can get to the $75 minimum by using email/social media to contact your network of family and friends. Now, that said, I'm sure others here will certainly lend a hand, especially since we are in need of a representative at Michigan's Adventure!! In fact, if you search back and find the post, one of our generous members was at one point offering to help anyone that joined at the 2 parks we were still needing riders for.

I really hope you (and your friend!) decide to join up at Michigan's Adventure!! We would really appreciate having Team TPR represented there, and you WILL have an absolute blast, I promise you! Plus, you just can't go wrong supporting this amazing cause! Thanks!

The fundraising deadline has been set by GKTW for Friday, June 5th at NOON. As far as I know, this includes Valleyfair participants. You could try emailing Kaylee at GKTW, but be warned that she is not the best at replying to emails with questions about the event. I had sent one with a couple questions about the new policy for offline donations about 3 weeks ago, and haven't heard anything back as of yet.

10 DAYS before the deadline, Team TPR!! Keep the awesome momentum going during the home stretch!!

I have hit a dry spell recently and been stuck just below $200. I have a feeling a couple of friends will be kicking some money to me close to the deadline. This year especially since we found out Courtney is pregnant again has been incredibly busy. I have not been able to do as well as i did for the Banshee event last year. I raised most of the money through running a split the pot weekly for several months. I started a new job right when I had signed up and haven't been able to but i hope to get the split the pot going again next year.

^ Just pushed you past $200.

Now if anyone would like to get me close to $200, I'd appreciate it. (I've been stalled at $44 dollars from $200 for a couple weeks now).

I'm also going to be going through and donating to people this week as well.

Great job TeamTPR!
