It's my wife's first time, and we're not huge gamblers/drinkers, so I'm looking for suggestions of cool stuff that I can do with her that will make her fall in love with the place like I have. bert425 Posted January 13, 2015 Share Posted January 13, 2015 "Love" is good. also very good is "O" at Bellagio, and "Mystere" (which was "refreshed" a few years ago, and since plays at TI, you might get discounted tickets to, as you're staying on property). if you can sqeeze it in, and if you really like raunchy, old Vegas style. . try to see "Absinthe" (in the tent in front of Ceasar's).. it's less showy Circque Du Soliel show with adult humor, and up close personal setting. If she's never been before?. . I HIGHLY recommend "Jubilee" at Bally's. . it's pretty much the only show still playing with classic Vegas Showgirls. That covers shows. I'd also recommend: 1) a trip down to Freemont street (on the Deuce buses that run 24 hours), hitting the classic casinos (just to look), in particular the Golden Nugget -- to take a look at the world famous pool with the slide thru the shark tank, as well as the huge gold nugget namesake. 2) The Neon Museum downtown is also great fun, but is open odd hours so be sure to check. 3) swing into CircusCircus to watch some of the circus acts over the main casino floor (I think every 1/2 hour these days). 4) walk the shops in the Caesar's forums, being sure to catch both fountain shows (one, the moving fountains, is cheesy, but a classic Vegas attraction, and they are free!) 5) walk the "Parisian" mall between Bally's and Paris. .with the cobblestone floors, and if you have time/cash check out the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower there. 6) of course, the fountains at Bellagio (different music/show every 15 minutes at night), as well as the Volcano erupting at Mirage (every hour). 7) I enjoy walking thru Luxor, just to check out the unique hotel/casino (pyramid), as well as Excalibur next door (castle. .with a HUGE midway of carnival games downstairs). if you can get her to go on coasters, don't miss Adventuredome behind CircusCircus. those are just off the top of my head. . hope y'all have a good time! There's the Red Rock hotel, home to a decent and cheap buffet, Downtown Summerlin, which opened up fairly recently, and of course, the Red Rock Canyon. It's quite beautiful. I would also recommend taking a visit to Chinatown. It's on Spring Mountain Road just past the I-15, and since you're staying at TI, this should be convenient. There's plenty of good eats there, but beware of the bad service! Of course, you can take a visit to the Adventuredome if you're craving rides. singemfrc Posted January 13, 2015 Share Posted January 13, 2015 Since you mention you're not huge gamblers (neither am I) if you enjoy(ed) retro arcade games or pinball, check out the Pinball Hall Of Fame, which is only a couple minutes from the strip by car or cab. Instead of feeding dollars into slot machines you can feed quarters (most are only .25, the newer ones can be .50-1.00) into old arcade and pinball machines. They have HUNDREDS of pinball and retro arcade machines from brand new back to I think the oldest pinball machine is from like 1945. All machines take real quarters, and change machines give quarters, just like the good old days, no tokens or cards to recharge. Also if you go to the Luxor are highly recommend the Titanic exhibit. This is not a tourist trap, the amount of artifacts and information they have on display is stunning. When I went tix4tonight offered discount tickets for it. The show is excellent, and since you are staying at Treasure Island, you can probably get a great deal. Before I mention anything about the strip (and yes, I know you won't be in Vegas for very long) I have to mention Bootleg Canyon Flightlines. I've ziplined in Bali, Indonesia as well as the Sequoia National Forest, and neither of those compare to the lines at Bootleg Canyon. They are the fastest, longest, and most thrilling zips I have ever experienced. The drive is less than 40 minutes from the strip, and they provide tours at all hours of the day, including incredible sunset tours. I strongly encourage you to look into them if you are into that sort of thing! As for the strip, check out the High Roller at the Linq. You can get pretty good discounts on specific nights, so take a look at the website and see what you can find. The view from the top of the wheel is truly amazing, especially late at night. As for coasters, I'd do all of them! In regards to things to see and do at hotels, definitely see the Bellagio fountains at least twice! They are always awesome, and the experience of viewing them both at night and during the day is great. The conservatory is beautiful as well, and it changes with the seasons. The Aria/Vidara/Cosmopolitan area is nice just to walk around in (near Crystals), and Wicked Spoon has one of my favorite brunch buffets. If you are into Japanese food, I cannot say enough about Yama Sushi. It is a hole in the wall, but the hot appetizers and sushi are the best I've had outside of Asia. The Izakaya-style skewers and the albacore are out of this world. For a more American route, try Hubert Keller's Burger Bar at the Mandalay Bay. Theirs are the best burgers I've ever had, and the special milkshakes are delicious. Yama and Burger Bar are the two restaurants I never miss when I visit Vegas! I'd love to go to that Pinball place. . adding it to my list. one that we always hit (and that's because I'm a huge (I mean HUGE) KISS fan. . the KISS Monster Mini Golf, across the street from the Hard Rock Casino. It's indoor, glow in the dark, mini-golf surrounded by KISS memorabilia, KISS stage Props, and a live DJ in the corner who plays KISS songs (from all albums). . so it's a hoot, although likely enjoyed more if you're a fan of KISS. Also has the largest KISS store in the world, with a lot of authentic signed merchandise for sale -- Gene/Paul/Tommy/Eric deliver new stuff to the store all the time. . so we always make a stop at Monster Mini Golf, even if we don't always play. Free to go in (only pay if you wanna play), and there's a free shuttle from MGM Grand to the Hard Rock (you just have to ask where to go), and then just cross the street for Monster golf Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We always check there before getting any show tickets in Vegas, but we never really plan out what shows we will see until we go to Tix4Tonight, so the day of show availability isn't usually a problem for us.
