Xmeister
I am in full support of this ban. I don't need anymore things blocking my view of IllumiNations! People can be so inconsiderate! Â Selfies suck most of the time anyways. (I have friends from high school who do toilet selfies....WTF?)

805Andrew
A compelling reason to #BanSelfieSticks on airplanes, in schools, theme parks, stadiums, and other public venues. Â Worse or better?www.newnownext.com/belfie-sticks-may-make-you-lose-faith-in-humanity/01/2015/?xrs=synd_facebook_logo Even worse than a Selfie Stick, proof humanity has hit a new low. tututiara
http://www.themeparktourist.com/features/20150116/29867/5-reasons-why-disney-should-ban-selfie-stick Though this mainly only focuses on Disney parks, I do agree that selfie sticks have no business anywhere near a theme park. It's ok to have one, but you shouldn't be able to take it to an amusement park where it could disturb others, and I completely support the selfie stick ban! man
When I want a nice picture of myself at a park, I ask somebody else to please take the picture for me. It's called communicating with my fellow human beings...a concept that is dissappearing at an alarming rate.QFTÂ Really though as far as bringing them on rides that violates policy. More specifically for Robb if you really wanted something done just send snapshots to each park connection for each park you have a shot of in a friendly manner pointing out a real issue..... Then slip in the view obstructions in shows when you have their attention. Maybe they can have the show announcers introduce and ask to respect others experience and not obstruct views with selfie sticks. While it may not deter it makes it easier to ask those around not to use them. It is a lot of work though and I'm sure you are busy. It's just a thought to solve the issues in our parks. Anyone can talk to management to it's just Robb is usually the one with permission to take shots on ride. Noticing people using it in on ride photos can be a picture to snap. Maybe mention it to the bootj operator although I can see many of them looking the other way while saying it will be handled. Â Maybe other people can snap some people using their sticks irresponsibly and in an inconsiderate manner .... Maybe make a meme game out of it? Hopefully it catches on and people will be afraid to become a worldwide internet joke.

KarlaKoaster
Selfie-sticks are fine for people to take selfies when they're on their own or aren't comfortable asking other people, but I totally agree with this topic in that some people caught up in their own little worlds use these things without any regard for people around them. Â Taking them on a ride is rude and dangerous. Using them in a show or even a crowd is incredibly discourteous to everyone behind them. I think the same about people with iPads who sit right in front of me blocking my view by holding their iPads up in the air. They're probably the same people who drive around without indicating thinking they're the only people on this planet.

DonGeorge
Uuugh. Here's another selfie stick occurrence at a Disney Park. We really shouldn't need to use these for roller coasters. I could understand if you're trying to get some neat off-ride shots, but this is quite unneeded.
K1ngdaKa88
^ and it looked like he hitted the person in fromt of him a few times! Or nearly For some reasons it is good, for example if there is nobody nearby and you want to do an aerial shoot with you on the pic. But at these places where many people are (for example: Theme Parks or Tourist Attractions), you can ask other people if they could do a photo of you and often it is way better than it would be with the selfie stick! And you shouldn't use it if the selfie-stick brings you or other people in danger!

Midgetman82
I'm absolutely dumbfounded by the last two videos. I'm waiting to hear from an issue involving someone dropping a metal stick (the selfie stick) from a ride, and the park THEN having to ban them. rcdude
How stupid do you have to be to think bringing a selfie stick on a high speed thrill ride is a good idea? In the video description the guy even admits he didn't screw it on properly and almost lost it. Anyone who does something like this should return to the station to find security waiting to escort them out of the park. Â I really hope this problem is addressed immediately as it is only a matter of time before a major incident occurs. When used properly, there is nothing wrong with selfie sticks. The problem is that too many people don't use them properly.
cfc
The guy in the California Screamin' video was lucky that the forces didn't pull the stick right out of his hand. Looks like he nearly lost it a couple of times.
coasterchitchat
Whatever the case is, DON'T bring a GoPro, do selfie sticks on a ride. What if the guy dropped it? Then he'd be suing Disney and it'd be a total load of "The biggest a**hole in the world".
Cyrbuzz
I can't believe this clown got away with having that on the ride. What idiots to take that risk with other people on the ride. Remember Dueling Dragons at IOA doesn't duel anymore because a foreign object struck a rider in the eye? And yet these assclowns were bringing these stupid sticks on rides. I agree big time get these things out of the parks. They're hazardous on rides and rude during live shows for other spectators.
rosscoe
I had no idea it had gotten that bad, I nearly brought one for when I go one holidays alone to Paris and London. but they really are dickie.
