tiger01
I, for one, think this is a fantastic start. There's an ordered layout to the park that as I can see would work well in a real park scenario. The Arrow coaster in the foreground has a brilliant layout and at first I thought it was a CT. The first drop is exceptionally well composed. I see the creativity you have with the game in the very right where you have a stadium. Using the paths to elevate the 'seats' works very well, although a little sparse. There is also a good ratio of flat rides and roller coasters aimed at both families and thrill seekers, something that a lot of rct3 park makers don't think of. I see you as a very mature player who thinks critically about what your theme park should include, restraining ideas you may have that would have been awesome but would not have worked in this scenario. There is also a great range of coasters between wood and steel, and to what people they market towards. Speaking more critically, you may want to use more of a variety of trees in your park. They really spice it up and add colour to the park. Your pathways are also rather bare which can be improved by adding benches, bins and other items the game has to offer, but don't go over board! The park is also very flat. Maybe try raising some ground and using terraforming more, especially on the log flume (to possibly create a mountain) or where the mine train is. Also, terrapainting goes a long way in making your park look good which I see throughout your park, however more use of it would improve the look of the park. This park has a lot of potential. Well, there's not enough images right now, so I am unable to critique. Yes, unable to critique.... Also, answering your question which has seem to be discarded, my vote will go to District of Fun. coastercoaster5
Thank for the feedback! Order of future work: Enhance path's Finalize lighting around the park. Create signs for rides using billboards. Terraform a little bit. Final touches. Create story on TPR. I will add more photos of progress hopefully in the next 7 hours but I am very busy with other things. STAY TUNED!

Before critiquing park after these photos, read my to do list. Also, I did not want to show you too much cause some of my favorite parts are not going to be revealed thus far. do not pay attention to that bathroom. I forgot to delete it. or that bathroom. coastercoaster5
Putting up some signage around the park. Made a really huge sign for the park's first haunt this upcoming season. It will be called District of Fright. I have some awesome ideas for haunt stuff, but all I will tell you is the name of one of the mazes. Reaping Beauty. I am also currently working on terrain. NOTE: Disregard everything else in photo. It is no where near final.

coastercoaster5
Sunday, April 30, 2000. My name is Matt Kelott, and I am a season pass holder to District of Fun, a Cedar Fair park. This is my current home park, as it has been the last two years. DoF is located near Petersburg Penn. The park first opened its doors in 1976. When it opened, it had 6 rides, two coasters, and three shows. In 1979, The Great American Fun Racer opened, and for many years, was the main attraction at the park. Through the years, DoF has expanded greatly. I first visited the park in 1996, two years before I moved here from Minnesota. Today I will be sharing my first ever photo TR! I am visiting on Sunday, April 30, opening weekend. The park opened Saturday but I was out of town the last two days. DoF always does a huge opening day, but I missed it . It was empty today, due to weather forecast, but it ended up being 60 degrees and clear! I did;t get the chance to go on ferris wheel or observation towers so no ariel shots. FYI, I took 0 pics of kids area. PARK HOURS APRIL: April 29/9:00am-10pm(NO season pass holder early entry) April 30/900am-9pm(NO season pass holder early entry) 2000 season is underway, for me, at least! Walking down the midway. same ole same ole. I See you! Ill talk about that beast later. Garden Grille Time for some coasters! My third favorite coaster in the park! It's not too rough and delivers great airtime. Almost always races. Beauty! Line gets LONG at opening cause it is right next to entrance. I chose my first ride of the season to be on the red side! I do prefer blue though. WOAH! What could this be?? I bet it's a new show. not too crowded. Weather was supposed to be bad maybe thats it. The big outdoor theater entrance. It hosts concerts. None today. Power Surge. Blue drops, red shoots. A wild mouse called wild mouse, unfortunately. My FAVORITE ride at the park, GREEN THUNDER. Its a Beemer sit down. Very smooth, forceful, and twisty. Just love it. Unfortunately, it's closed. Closed. Both of them. Oh well... Yeah we got one of those slide things. Its not opening till next week for reasons I do not know. It is literally the simplest ride I don't get how its down. New for 2000.........INSANE! Its a Chaos ride. INSANE! was awesome! Never been on anything like that! Best part, waited five minutes! This is a one of those fun houses. It's fun for younger people, I do it with friends, but today i'm alone. Log ride. Ill pass. Big Thunder! okay, before i talk about the ride, IT IS IN NO WAY ACCEPTABLE TO HAVE TO THUNDER COASTERS AT ONE PARK!!!!!! What were they thinking. ANywho, it is not too painful, and has a great layout. It is a real hit or miss. I rode it today, with a 0 minute wait. Great views of the ride! Really cool! Rush Hour. It is a Premier double chain lift coaster. It runs multiple trains, each on car, seating four. Its a really fun one. Okay, this is the third one I have seen. It must be bigger than a show. Well, I will find out June 2! No wait! AIRTIME! Really, crazy airtime on the little hills on this thing. Premier needs to make more. Oh, and the ride opened in 1997. This area looks like a dump. Uh WHAT??? This and that dark thing, this year is starting out weird. Toxic Twirl. I shall pass. Moving on... This grass area is free to run around in, nap, picnic, whatever you want? gives some great views of that invert. Why is there no one on the grass? I don't know actually. Normally busy. Speaking of invert, my second favorite ride at the park, UNLEASHED! it opened last year and is said to be the best invert in the world! Fear the unleashed! Waited 10 minutes. I LOVE EMPTY DAYS! LOVE IT. Time for the Schwarzkopf shuttle looper! Great ride. Its name.....STORM CHASER It is the best shuttle looper i have been on (4) cause of it's location. It is jammed in the middle of everything. Love the station. Cool shot. I see you Big Thunder Looking down a midway. Not today! ITS GOOD CAUSE ITS NEW! Power Surge open! Still not open. SPOKE TOO SOON! YES!! I must be the first in line! After 4 rides in a row on Green Thunder, I ate at Harvey's BBQ, located next to mine train, which I didn't take picture of. It located next to Big thunder and has a lake it's on. Beautiful coaster, really. Chinese Buffet. It's a hit or miss. REALLY GOOD, or horrible. Got two rides on Power Surge (drop). Launch was still not open. Three more rides on Green Thunder can't hurt right? Power Surge View from Storm Chaser queue. I see you unleashed! After a night ride on Unleashed in the back row, (front is fav), it was already 9:00. Time to go home! Bye bye. Had a great time. Be back soon! DONT FORGET TO COMMENT!!!!!!!! coastercoaster5
Sunday, May 7, 2000 Matt Kelott here. I went to the park all day today but only took a few pics. I will not be able to attend the park until memorial weekend . I am very busy with work this month and have multiple business trips. Any who, I had a great time today with my friend Richard, another enthusiast like myself. I have heard many rumors about the park. Many say we will be getting a haunt this year! That may be what those teaser signs are for. I really hope so! Also, that coming soon sign was confirmed by the park to be some sort of entertainment, and a big deal they say. From the observation tower, tI could see that there was a huge amount of land with half finished buildings behind the sign. Hmmm.... Here are my top 5 roller coasters at the park: 1. Green Thunder 2. Unleashed 3. The Great American Fun Racer 4. Storm Chaser 5. Rush Hour -------- PLEASE GIVE FEEDBACK/ADVICE!!!! Decided to walk around Kidsville. Im not a fan. Pretty bland, but it can pull a lot of families. Best part, gives a nice view of The Great American Fun Racer. Looking around. Gives nice views, thats all. some kiddie rides. Ladybug Express, the one kiddie coaster pulls a big line. Its my favorite kiddie coaster its really fun with great views. View from line of Ladybug Express. Those yellow beams, as seen from picture above, are the remnants from the old queue cover, that apparently collapsed right before the season started. Did not take another picture until now. View from Rush Hour Queue. You can kind of see some of the Mine Train. It's name is Fun Mine. more rush hour queue shots The new park logo for 2000! Thanks to JonnyRCT3 for the logo! IronWolfman
I don't know why you're cursing Big Thunder for having "Thunder" in it, since likelihood it was in the park first. It's a Arrow mega looper, which came before B&M sit down loopers. Pretty nice for a CS park though.
coastercoaster5
Saturday, September 2, 2000. HEY! Matt Kelott here. I have visited the park countless times over the last couple months but not much had changed....untill today. District of Fright starts Friday, September 29, and goes until Sunday, October 29. The season does not end till Sunday, November 5. Well, today I was able to get pics of some IMPORTANT stuff so take a look. Over by wild mouse A maze is being built. The whole concert stadium had been demolished and the area is fenced off. The ride op let me bring me camera with wrist band on POWER SURGE and I was able to see whats on the other side of the fence. Well, the entire stadium and seating is gone. There look to be three mazes back here and a stage looking thing. Could be a popular area during District of Fright. The fifth maze is all the way over by the BBQ and Mine train. WAY out of the way from anything. DONT FORGET TO COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

coastercoaster5
Saturday, September 30, 2000. Matt Kelott here, District of Fright was well.....AMAZING!!!!!!! WOW. Great addition to the park and it seemed very popular among the crowd. People loved it. Here are the reviews for the mazes... 5. MALIGNO: This maze is called Maligno, which means the evil one I think. It was kind of a Zombie maze but not really. Confusing to say the least. It was not THAT scary. 4. GHOST TOWN. Great sets and location and theme....but not that scary. It based on an abandoned western town with creatures haunting the remnants. Scare actors seemed a little out of it. 3. REAPING BEAUTY. AWESOME theme. Kind of scary. Not that many jumps though. Cool sets and costumes. 2. THE EASTER BUNNY. WOW. Love the theme. The easter bunny goes on a kill streak with his chainsaw. Very scary. Not that great sets but who cares it was awesome. Also a very short maze. 1.................WAREWOLF. Best maze of the night. Scariest by a long shot. It was also the longest maze, i think. The costumes were top notch and the surplus of actors, wow. Sets were great too. All the actors were so into it. Great maze. The stage was full of activity all night long. Dancers, DJ's, and lightshows. It was a hit. Well, that was great. Cannot wait till next years's haunt. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE AT NEXT YEARS FRIGHT? Since it was my first attempt at a haunt, what did you like about it? What can be improved? Please comment to help me produce the best product!
