StealthFan
Is it time to go back yet?!?!? Yes, but minus a few people. d Grona Lund is a great park. And it seems to have even more nudity than it did in 2009. Everything is better with more nudity!!!

Jakizle
I am going to finish this PTR now! School done, graduation done, moving done, and new job DONE. Next up we took a overnight ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki! It was a really nice ship with the perfect amount of space and amenities for an overnight trip. Upon arrival, we headed up to northern Finland where we would spend time at Powerpark, but not without a bonus stop on the way! This will be a quick update of that, with Power Park to follow very soon! On to the photos... Our ferry was more of a cruise ship!!! First impression of the main level/promenade was WOW! This was the view as we headed out of Sweden Not quite the fjords this region makes you think of haha, but still quite nice. Another look down at the main area of the ship. It had a ton of shops and food venues. We had a huge group dinner at the buffet downstairs (there was also a huge duty free shop down stairs and a GIANT kids area, wow) and it was a lot of good food! After this many partied into the night at the clubs/bars, but for me, I passed out and caught up on some sleep. The next morning we are way the hell up in Finland! Furthest north I've ever been. On the drive up north we passed this funky looking building in the middle of nowhere. So I took a picture of it. On the way we hit a bonus park in a huge Finland mall...Fun Park! It is home to a figure 8 kiddie coaster. Good luck pronouncing that. Even with a limit on the number of adults, huge KUDDOS to the operator for getting 100 of us on really quickly. Weee! Ok, on to food. Once again we were given access to a buffet. Many of us were fond of the "spaceship" chicken nuggets. The park was nice and had a bunch of random attractions for kids, including simulators. I liked the flaming airplane of course. There were a bunch of children's attractions all over the place. Walking back to the bus thru the indoor shopping area. Yup, I love Sweden. Fast forward to night time, and we made it up to Power Park way the hell north!!! Also, this picture was taken at midnight. Yup it doesn't get dark up here. The cabins we stayed in were so cute! It was hard to capture without a wide lense, but under the stairs was a kitchen area with a table to eat where I was standing. To the left is a big couch and that door leads to a double bed room upstairs. Up stairs was a loft with 3 more beds! On the other side of the kitchen there was a huge bathroom with a sauna! A bunch of us got naked at this point so photos had to stop...next update we hit Power Park at night and the next day!
StealthFan
Yay more Scandi photos! Cant wait for the Power Park part and the TPR Grand Prix! You did forget to mention one thing about the cabins at Power Park before the Sauna. This happened!
BDG
Fun fact! You mentioned Legoland Billund was your second Legoland. But it also sort of was your third. You see, you visited Hansa-Park the day before, which opened as Legoland in 1973. But it wasn't owned by LEGO, and the owners dumped the LEGO-theme after only 4 seasons because it cost too much. You actually took a photo of the former "Miniland pit".
Jakizle
I swear I am going to finish this! Time for another big update. Our first large park was in Finaland...Powerpark! It is home to the most northern-ly wooden coaster in the world. And it's an awesome place. Not only are their rides good, but they have amazing karting and accommodation. Check it out in the photos! Also this was over 2 days...but you can't tell because it never got dark! Here we are arriving at the cute cottages of Power Park! This would be our unit for the stay. We combined with another pair of roommates (Hi Soupy and Bob!) to crash in the cabin Dropped our stuff off, and it was time to play for the night! First stop of course, credits. Pretty sure I didn't even have a locked lap bar for this one. Next up was the park's family coaster. Here it comes! They also have one of these funky two lift hill spinning mouse coasters! Plus funky noises too. The park is beautiful, with a lot of rides on the Finish country side American parks look like this, right? Last credit before ERT was the Boomerang. How can one of these look so good?? Even with funky trains, it's still a Boomerang. It sure does look pretty though. Okay enough, moving on. The nightcap was on the park's star coaster, the GCI creation Thunderbird. It's a really photogenic ride! And we had a blast riding it for 2 hours The goal was to load up with fatties and get into an aerodynamic position! We wanted to break the speed record from the last Scandi trip. Unfortunately with colder weather and winds, we were about 1 second off the pace at best. But that didn't stop the fun! Love those GCI curves. Hands up! GCI coasters can have some airtime Walked back for some more artsy shots. Having fun! Working hard to get the best shots for you! Love this angle. Where did the train go? After a bunch of riding, we retired to the cabins. These were the newer ones. All cabins had a seating area, table, kitchen, full bathroom with a sauna, and 2 bedrooms. So very cute! Quaint sleeping areas The next morning, it was time for the TPR Grand Prix! The karts are all lined up ready to go Now we just need riders Are you guys ready? And they are off! Crossing the finish line. The corners were definitely tricky! This corner was definitely a major spin out spot! Who will win? The course is super high tech! The 15 people with the fastest lap times moved on to the final race. And here are the final 15 lined up for the championship race! And they pile into calamity corner! First one to the finish wins. And I think it was some Aussie Afterwords, we spent a few more hours in the park. Kickass crazy frisbee through a house!!! Gotta love dark rides. Can't go to an European park without a fun house These guys needed a little bit of help on the spinner The parks flume ride was great!! Lots of drops and turns and unique nonsense. They also have a working Mach Tower...running TWO modes! Our last moments were spent walking around enjoying the parks many areas, like this walk through village of...trolls? Bonus picture the cabins at...you guessed it...midnight! Soupy waves goodbye from Powerpark! Such a cool place and can't wait to go back for their new coaster. Up next, Wasalandia! cfc
Powerpark was the biggest surprise of the 2009 Scandi Trip, and it looks like it's just gotten better since then.
SharkTums
Every time we go I want to spend an extra night/day. They have built up a goodly amount every visit and seem to be doing well.
derwood
Another awesome day. Loved the go carts and the fat train rides. When do we go again?
Nrthwnd
Loved this park. And the 'troll village' behind the coaster was actually a film set, built for popular story characters' adventures, in Finland. I ran into, and got to chat with the father of (and) the owner of the park/resort! And they told me what the sets were all for. After the movie was finished filming, they loved the set up so much, they decided to keep it for park visitors. Worked for me!
LDedios432
The color scheme for the boomerang reminds me of Drachen Fire a little bit. Very pretty!
coastercrzyjames
Love the photos of Power Park Jake! This park was definitely at the top of the list for most memorable visits of the trip. The TPR Grand Prix the next morning was such a fun time, I was both surprised and glad when I made it into the final 15. I can't resist a good go-kart course. I can't wait to see how their new coaster turns out, guess I'll need another trip to Finland & Scandi soon.
viking86
Fantastic trip report! I visited Power Park back in 2007 and had a great time. Thunderbird was running amazing! Really cool to see the park doing well and continue expanding.
better_by_design
So, what sort of condition was the Bridge over the River Kwai in? Great pictures, the park looks beautiful, and the cabins look super-cool! Other than Holiday World, where in the US can you rent a cabin at a park? larrygator
Other than Holiday World, where in the US can you rent a cabin at a park? More parks than you might expect Cedar Point, Knoebels, Lake Compounce, Darien Lake, Indiana Beach There may be more, not sure. PKI Jizzman
Thanks for the shot of the Cabin at midnight! An interesting sight. I guess with some dark shades you could make the room dark enough to simulate midnight in the US. Post more pictures if you have them!

Jakizle
After our fun day at Power Park, we made a quick visit to Wasalandia on the day down to Tampere. This park was a small family park and was really cute! The staff was super friendly and took us around the park on a quick VIP tour before offering us a meal. Quick photo update before moving on to Sarkaniemmi! Welcome to Wasalandia! Somewhere in northern Finland... We were split up to groups and showed around by park personally. First up, we took a ride on the Pirate ship! Having fun, and behind the scenes Why do they have curved bridges??? Checking out the Western Area Haunted walk thru! Complete with gore and dead things And of course boobs! Lots of random rooms to explore. And the famous log flume was finally next! We left AJ in Finland. "WE ARE ON A LOG FLUME!!!" "WE ARE ON A LOG FLUME" And we didn't get wet! Yessss But these guys did. Haha! Thank you KT for the guest photos Hanging out to dry? Ha ha ha. Oh yeah there is also a credit. Most obscure Galaxy? haha They did have a cool looking playground...maybe next time? They then bussed us down the street to their cool looking indoor/outdoor water park complex for dinner. I was focused on eating so no photos, sorry! Next up the beautiful Sarkaniemmi!
