gisco
Liked the park. Makes me want to go out and buy some Legos!
Jakizle
^Same! It was tempting to not spend a lot of money in the Lego shop. Â Next up is Djurs Sommerland coming Monday evening! Lot of Intamin love.

Hilltopper39
Legoland Denmark looks awesome. I visited Legoland Florida this summer for the first time and honestly didn't really like the park all that much. I know it's a "kids" park but I really felt that Florida could use a few attractions like Polar Explorer or the haunted house ride. Denmark looks like it really has a great mix of "family" ride where as Florida to me, with the exception of the wild mouse, has more or less all "kids" rides. Great report though. Canobie Coaster
Great trip report! Â ^ That's how I felt about Legoland California as well. Knight's Tournament looked really cool, but other than that, most of the rides seemed geared for the younger crowd. Ultimately that is why I decided to visit SeaWorld instead. ozziboy
Nice memories in your report, Jake. This was the first and only Legoland I've ever visited, so I really enjoyed it! Â I have to add that it's also the only park on the trip where I actually ran out of time without seeing everything by the time we left. And that wasn't due to queues - we had our passes to solve that - it just had so much cool stuff to see and do!
Jakizle
Update time! Djurs Sommerland was next and highly anticipated for all trip participants because of the Intamin MegaLite, Piraten. It was a first for most of us, and did not disappoint! On to the photos... When you see an Intamin ride behind the trees...it's time to get excited! The park staff was eager to meet us and super friendly! Always a nice touch to get something like this for our visit Here we go!!! Just kidding! We started our day with the brand new Juvelen! You can't see any of the ride from the station, keeping most of it a surprise. Here we go! Nice gentle launch for the family The first half of the ride is a nice coast through the "jungle" The second launch is where the ride really picks up speed and a nice kick! Love flying through all of the theming! The ride is twisty! How about a back seat ride? Duck! Everyone loved Juvelen! Another train of happy riders goes by! Thanks to Djurs for the super long ERT (we started at 7:30 am???) And now it was finally time for 90 minutes of Piraten ERT! THAD AND STEVE ANNOUNCE ALL THE FATTIES CAN RIDE!!! Have fun Soupy!!! How about a front seat ride to start? Here we go!!! I love s-hills and Piraten is PACKED with them! Take the tunnel! These hills were insane! Twist and eject! Looks like airtime to me! How good was 90 minutes on Piraten?!?! I think I got over 10 rides. The park did eventually open, and there were more coasters to ride! We survived the new water coaster in the 50 degree temps! The wacky worm here was a little special... It was my 600th! These guys also needed the credit The locals show how to use the "barrel of death" Next up, we got hammered by Thor Don't look up! This was my first bobsled coaster! The ride starts with a bunch of quick turns... ...followed by a series of airtime hills... ..with another twisty finale! The video crew dropping in Credits done, it was time to explore the park. Do you think I can make it up? Doing pretty well! Alright! Made it up my first try! Not too bad for a fatty. Classic. We also got toppled. Is this the only one running??? Craig ate pizza. Banana boat? Only a slightly racist boat ride... Malaysian? Something funny happened Just gorillas skiing from gators! The park has a pretty large ropes course. I love Europe. We tried hard not to kill ourselves! Even the simplest of obstacles will catch you off guard! These guys tried to take it easy, but that didn't last long Never in America...being handed raw dough. I attempted to bake it, and failed pretty hard. How about some final rides on Piraten? The temps picked up all day and so did the ride! Such a little ride kicks so much ass. Flying around another s-curve. Intamin porn... Thad in the front row totally ruins it Pretty! Seriously, so much airtime on every element on this ride. It turned out to be a beautiful day! And one last shot for ya. I loved the ride almost as much as Soupy loves me! How else could we end the day other than a huge ice cream cone? I ate EVERY LITTLE BITE. Anyways, next up is a stop at Tivoli Frieheden!
Nrthwnd
Great coverage of the park, and all the coasters, Jake Can't wait to read what you think of Friheden...and The Tower.

Meteornotes
Great photos. Cool to see the "bake your own bread" attraction still there. If some US park attempted to do this, lawyers would drop from the sky to shut it down. Â dt
ozziboy
I love how you got that shot of Juvelen with both our bus drivers joining in and getting their ride on it, and having just as much fun as the rest of us! Â Really nice photos again.
Barge84
Jealousy is a stinky cologne, Jake. Â Also, I didn't have any trouble with the Piraten restraints!
azza29
Also, I didn't have any trouble with the Piraten restraints! Â You missed out on having Elissa, then Robb jump on your lap bar to make it lock. That's the kind of extra service that made this trip awesome! Â Great pics, Jake. Djurs Sommerland was a fantastic park!

RCjunkie
Nice trip report, thanks for sharing. Nothing can beat a gorilla water skiing behind an alligator. I have never been on a Mega-Lite but I am going to ask the question that has been asked before on these boards, why are there not more of these types of coasters in America? They look like mini-Maverick's and a boat load of fun. They don't take up a huge foot print, they are not over 125 feet tall so they must be a lot cheaper than hypers, everyone who rides one raves about them and they are made my Intamin. I cannot come up with a good reason why US parks don't have a few more of these around, especially medium to small sized parks.
booink
^I believe there's none because, a) neither Six Flags or Cedar Fair buys coasters from Intamin anymore, and b) they can't make good marketing because it doesn't beat any pointless world record. Two good reasons for American parks to not buy these coasters. Maybe after KK built Lightning Run we *might* see some smaller or not chain-owned parks build some ? cfc
Is Piraten's tunnel new? I don't remember the ride having a tunnel back in 2009. Â Great photos, Jake.
StealthFan
I can't say I was a huge fan of Juvelen. It wasn't a bad ride by any means but it didn't blow my mind as much as it seemed to have done to a lot of people. I remember at a lot of the parks we visited before Djurs they were all talking about how amazing Juvelen was and Piraten had almost been forgotten. Â Great photos again Jake. Cant wait to see the rest!
azza29
^Piraten is definitely the better coaster for sure. I considered Juvelen to be an excellent family ride, but it wasn't particularly intense. Of the Intamin motocoasters Jet Rescue feels more forceful, even though it's much shorter.
Nrthwnd
Is Piraten's tunnel new? I don't remember the ride having a tunnel back in 2009. Â Yes, it did back in 2009. I remember, Chuck.
GigaG
^I believe there's none because, a) neither Six Flags or Cedar Fair buys coasters from Intamin anymore, and b) they can't make good marketing because it doesn't beat any pointless world record. Two good reasons for American parks to not buy these coasters. Maybe after KK built Lightning Run we *might* see some smaller or not chain-owned parks build some ? Â SF does buy large drop towers from Intamin (Zumanjaro/Lex Luthor) and has installed small Intamin coasters (GL:FF) not too long ago. Â How about parks learn to tell the GP that - GASP - a ride can be intense without being massive? Â Here are some reasons that a Mega-Lite has not been built in the US in my opinion- Â -Capacity - 820pph is not that good. -Size - Unfortunately, some people would believe that a Mega-Lite is a scaled-up kiddie coaster. -Cost - I believe that Mega-Lites are fairly expensive for their size. This is why that park in France went with Mack to build a Mega-Lite near-clone. It's also probably how Chance markets their Lightning Run-style models - those seem cheaper than Intamin. -Intensity - This is a MASSIVE load of crap to me, but allegedly, some parks in the US purposely clamp down on ride intensity. The most painfully (literally painfully to some) obvious example is SFMM's Green Lantern, which was allegedly balanced to keep it upright. Its sibling in Sweden is considered better by many enthusiasts. Â Of course, size and intensity are the characteristics of the Mega-Lite. Cost, well, I hope Intamin tries to cheapen this ride. Â As for capacity, switch track dual stations would be quite chaotic and not very efficient with 3 trains. So I propose an extended ending (extra bunny hill) to give room for a double-section station (load in front, unload in back.) Blocking would work almost identically to Millenium Force. Â Another idea - what if there was an Accelerator Mega-Lite? Same layout, just a hydraulic launch (or maybe LSM) instead of the cable lift. The train exits the launch at the same speed, you know how this would go. Â By the way, if a Mega-Lite was built in the US, would it have T-bars or a different restraint system? Jakizle
Update time! Â After our amazing day at Djurs Sommerland, we headed back to our base camp in Arhus to visit Tivoli Friheden. Now, the park was closed this day (it was a Thursday) but Robb and Elissa arranged for the park to open for us. Not only did they open all of the coasters, but tons of other attractions as well! While the rides were not the best, the ops were awesome and we managed to have a great visit. On to the photos! Arriving at Tivoli Friheden! Have I mentioned how we have had perfect weather almost the entire trip?? The first stop of the night was the spinning mouse. Enjoy your ride guys! Here we go A preview of what's to come... Big drop fun! Always thought this part of these rides was funky. Apparently spinning mice make you punch your mother! Luckily we did not spin and puke too much. Here goes nothing... It looks so innocent, right? Good luck guys! I heard screams. Lots of screams. Of pleasure or of pain? They look way too excited for this. We even were good sports and rode multiple times so everyone could get their credit (minimum rider count needed). It wasn't really THAT bad! The next torture device. That's a small turn into the drop. This is what death looks like Coathanger, anyone? It looks like we have a pirate ship enthusiast on our hands The final coaster of the night It's actually a unique wacky worm. Somewhere Rick Mathews is giddy They also had this insane flat ride. And it did this to people. One last artsy shot of death for you. We attempted to check out the dark ride Where they display the high scors But we broke down in the first scene At least we got to walk through the entire attraction! The park did look nice, for having a lot of temporary rides. Funhouse fun Freaky effects... Soupy fills the hole nicely I love slides! And now for the grand finale...the SCAD tower. The park had it opened for us the entire visit! Being Mr. Big myself, I had to sit out, but it was fun to watch. Here is a full drop sequence... And caught! People seemed to really like this. Make sure you watch the TPR video!!! KT and I found a little more grounded attraction to pass the time. And we somehow survived Tivoli Friheden and had fun! Next up, an AWESOME visit to Farup Sommerland!!!
Nrthwnd
They were so nice with us at Friheden. And with it being NOT as rainy or windy as "before" (2009), it's really a nice park to walk through. Â SCAD Tower - well. it's an awesome attraction. I loved my second time on it. Â Great stuff Jake, and lots of good coaster shots. Looking forward to Farup... SharkTums
You forgot to mention WHY everyone was riding that crazy death flat ride. I believe it had something to do with a super hot Danish ride op...
