richards.adam
Good day all, It seems like a lot of themeparks are now creating coasters that have a relatively short ride experience. Of course there are some exceptions. But what roller coaster, that lasts for around 45 seconds of less (from the end of the lift hill/start of the launch to reaching the final brakes), is your favourite? I'll kick things off with Nemesis at AT lasting for around 43 seconds
rcjp
^Actually, if you think about it, 45 seconds form the moment the "actual" ride begins is not that short, given many rides we now have. Anyway, I'll choose Storm Runner as it is my second favourite overall and is well under 45 s.
coasterbill
^Actually, if you think about it, 45 seconds form the moment the "actual" ride begins is not that short Agreed.... I just checked some POV's to make sure. El Toro is close but just a little longer (I'm counting the turnaround after the lift but before the drop as ride time) so I'll go with my #8 coaster overall... I305 which is barely under 45 seconds based on the TPR POV.
El Toro_Ryan
I was about to say Intimidator 305. Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster are both excellent as well.
rcjp
^I would say Kingda Ka if the thread was "Most coaster in the least time" or something like that because those 20 seconds or so do really pack a massive punch (especially in the front).
palmerleeberry
The only coaster I can think of will have to be Volcano at Kings Dominion in which not one, but two launches are needed to get the coaster train traveling straight up and "blasted" out of the Volcano. It may be short, but with a launch system like that and three inversions to boot, that ride is a "BLAST"!
tribar
Stormrunner
XYZ
A great launch, a nice top hat with floater airtime, and overbanks that make a nice ending puts Xcelerator as my favorite coaster with such a short duration.
Cullvion
Not including the lift hill, but I think the best coaster under 45 seconds is Blue Streak at Cedar Point, mainly because all the HUGE rides are over a minute and Top Thrill Dragster, while nice, is just too quick for me. coasterbill
aaaaaaand that's what she said.
KevinM
Well the answer would have to be what is my favorite coaster period, which just happens to last right around 45 seconds: Outlaw Run. If you take a look at the official park POV from opening day ( ) when the coaster was at it's slowest, any meaningful speed is contained right at 45 seconds. The dip begins at 0:25 and the train is essentially stopped at 1:10, exactly 45 seconds. And it's only gotten faster with time, so it easily falls within the category. As for the coaster itself... it's non-stop pure RMC craziness. I don't care that it's only 45 seconds... it packs in more thrills than many coasters at twice that length. kailisun98
I have to say S:UF at SFDK or the Mega-Lite at Happy Valley Shanghai. F-U-l-l T-h-r-o-t-t-l-e is quite good too.
El Toro_Ryan
The Batman The Ride clones also definitely pack a nice punch in under 45 seconds.
glucky11801
For me it has to be any of the Mega Lites. At just over 45 seconds, they pack in more thrills and airtime than any other coaster by a wide margin, I'm so happy I got to experience all this Intamin goodness in Shanghai! urzishra
El Loco is what I want all small "wild mouse" style coasters to be. So much in so little.
yankeeman311
This happens to be my #1 overall coaster and checking the pov, it seems to last around 45 seconds exactly. Skyrush! If you wanna talk about coasters that pack a punch in a short time from start to finish, the conversation has to start with this coaster. It'll just leave you with new definitions of things you thought you knew.
The49er
X2 seems to fall into this category. I didn't happen to find it rough, despite being in the last row...what makes this ride my #1 is the abundance of "HOLY CHEESE WHIZ" moments (particularly the 1st drop and the 2nd raven turn, but the vehicular flips elsewhere are also great). In terms of short coasters, honorable mention goes to FT, Xcelerator, and SFDK's S:UF. FT: Amazing airtime...well, for California, anyway...I left the backwards launch as a surprise for the rest of my family, leading to some priceless reactions after the ride Xcelerator: Isn't it obvious? S:UF: This is one of those rides that scares you on every single lap, namely because of the backwards ascent into the non-inverting loop and the slow barrel roll. Both elements trigger "ohsnapohsnapOHSNAPOHSNAP" reactions every time.
CPSFMMCW
i305 and El Toro
VF15
Probably Batman: The Ride for me. It's a short ride for a B&M, but that doesn't keep it from being in my personal Top 10.
booink
Never rode it but I think that Goliath @ SFGAm is a good contestant for the 45 secs war. However out of the ones I've been on, I'd say any B&M Batman the ride is amazing. I find the one at La Ronde (Le Vampire) to be more agressive than the others I've ridden (in a good way), so it's my favorite.
rcjp
The BTRs are also good, and so is skyrush
alpengeist04
Glad to see the B&M Batman coasters getting some love here. ...After all these years, those Batman coasters are still right there with Kumba and DD-Fire as my favorite B&Ms.
Midgetman82
In terms of providing best well-rounded experiences, I'd say the Batman clones (mainly the SFOG version) for how intense they can be. Top Thrill Dragster takes my second-place cake for the total adrenaline rush!
gerstlaueringvar
Outlaw Run! From the time it clears the lift to it stops at the brake run, the time is roughly 42 seconds.
canadianparkfan
Would have to say, Le Vampire, La Ronde (BTR clone)... One of the best rides in Canada .
