Hhappy
So today I got to visit Liseberg for the press opening event of Helix. This new Mack installation has some pretty impressive specs: Top speed of 100km/hour 2 launches, 1,38km long capacity of 1350 riders/hour 7 inversions and 3 weightless moments. Great addition for the park, feels like it's spot on with their target group for this ride and i'm pretty sure it will provide the things they are expecting of it. Fun, long ride which is very very reridable. Nice pops of airtime and inversion and it brings a smile to your face. Video: Pictures: I like a countdown, especially if I don't have to wait that long the park just looks pretty hmm, first look at the new ride in case you forgot the name pretty sure there will be plenty of shopping goodies available pretty soon speech time (not that long (thanks for that)) eagerly waiting riders part of the queue area from above time to look at the coaster so many different pieces of steel and coaster in one image airtime I do hope he made it back airtime scarf time the big drop going up twisty with a train always fun happy riders scream if you like it more screaming happy faces air, tears, joy.. so many things it looks pretty another look at part of the queue restraint system from the side lots of green steel yummie sign / specs different skyline (compared to my previous visit) true lots and lots of green lot of things happening in a small area There's Balder second launch fun more inversions, airtime moments and fun the drop out of the station seen from below test dummy system on Balder final inversion another view point here they come do like the led lights go go go whee happy riders wave at the camera I just like this image bad hair day? are they related? inversion time with headlights final inversion pop of airtime whee ok, now we are talking Hairtime it's such a pretty (green) looking train happy riders second launch fun final turn before the second launch go go go tight squeeze at some points airtime extreme airtime (check the wheels) I like long hair (for coaster pictures second row extreme hair and the backrow Edited April 24, 2014 by robbalvey

thrillerman1
Phenomenal pics Hanno! Helix looks awesome. The Swedes appear to have a winner on their hands. Thank you as always for sharing your amazing photos! I have said it before, but the TPR day I spent at Liseberg in 2009 is still my all time fav park visit day, and I can't wait to get back there. The Westate
I certainly can tell this is not an American trip report, only 1 person I would even call overweight at all. Are the restraints pretty accommodating or is like the old Intamin restraints? Love the photos, amazing looking coaster. Hey Carowinds build a 300 ft version of this! rcjp
^^Haha I was about to mention that picture to say the same! There really must be some decent air there! Hey Carowinds build a 300 ft version of this! That would be just awesome! I've always dreamt of a massive looping ride! Great photos and great video Hanno! Midgetman82
Wonderful pictures, Hanno! I love the layout of the coaster, and as well the architecture used for the queue! From the POV's I've seen, it looks like a top coaster for 2014.
gerstlaueringvar
Great photos and videos! The photos of the queue really shows how much effort Liseberg has put into this huge project.

Hilltopper39
Trains? Awesome, Station? Awesome, Restraints? Awesome, Ride? Awesome. Amazing project here. Just when you think man if Lisberg only had some kind of terrain twister launch coaster with inversions then that place would really be special they go and build something like this..... thrillseeker4552
Awesome photos and awesome footage! Thanks for sharing! As for Helix, does anybody know where the top speed is achieved? There are several fast moments in the ride.
rcjp
Just one question, for those who've ridden Helix: how does the second launch feel? It looks like it gains speed but then closer to the end it doesn't seem to be accelerating much (as it's quite long). So I wonder how the forces feel.
