matteocrepaldi
A few days ago, while skiing in Arosa-Lenzerheide I had a chance to ride this amazing Intamin creation! I know it is neither a roller coaster nor it is located in an amusement park but this thing is so awesome it really should be in this section of the forum! In case you wander, it is called Tschuggen Express, it is located in Arosa and it just connect the Grand Hotel Tschuggen with the ski slopes! According to Intamin's brochure, it is 528 meters long, it has a maximum inclination of 52% (more than 45°) and it reaches a speed of 4 m/s (14 km/h). Here's the photos! Here it is! Operating hours and other important information! Loading plattform! Here it comes! Photos were taken with my cell phone (Nokia 5800) and there is also a glass! Me! Very luxurious Intamin seats! That's the hotel! To operate the monorail, just press the Start button when you are ready to leave! Going back to the ski slopes! Intamin track! This is really cool! Spring is coming and snow is melting! Almost there! Back into the station!
julioot
I love how it looks just like a rollercoaster track. I hate how it does not seem to have any airtime.

bbomser
So does it count as a credit? Or is it a monorail?
DJeXeL
The credit whore in me says.........."Powered Coaster Credit!!!"

rcjp
I love how it looks just like a rollercoaster track. I hate how it does not seem to have any airtime. That would be quite weird yet funny for something like this, with no seatblets.
matteocrepaldi
It has seatbelts, you can't see them in the photos!

simon8899
Looks more like something MACK would have come up with - but donot know how their Powered Coaster design does in freezing temperatures. Interesting design...
Diamondbacker27
That's amazing! It looks exactly like coaster track, my kinda monorail.
Nrthwnd
THIS is what they should have considered for the possible The Incredbles Pod ride in DL's Tomorrow Land on the old Rocket Rods/People Mover track. Way back when. Too bad it doesn't travel faster "just a little bit" on the way back to the hotel.
Loefet
A bit more info on the system: The PRT was built by a company called Coaster Verkehrssysteme GmbH, but once in place they had quality issues with track, control system and battery problems, which lead the original company to go into insolvency. So then it was decided that Intamin should be the ones that fixed the whole thing. So it's not a true Intamin product, even though they have it on their web-page. But apparently the original company have made a comeback as CityCoaster, http://www.citycoaster.com/ , so we might see others in the future, if anyone dares to get one that is. Speaking of Coaster style transit, then Senyo Kogyo have developed one that work more as a coaster, all with lift-hills at the stations and then coast to the next one on a gentle downhill slope. Wonder how it would be counted though since it's even more as a real coaster than the one at Tschuggen Grand Hotels. They have even made a small prototype to test their idea: http://www.senyo.co.jp/newbiz/1052/ Something for TPR on the next Japan visit? (it's located here: https://www.google.com/maps?ll=35.626716,140.106906&spn=0.001364,0.002922&t=h&z=20 )

Xmeister
This looks really similar to what they have linking one of the Nevada base areas at Heavenly in Lake Tahoe to the Ridge resort. I don't think it was made by Intamin though, as the vehicle literally looks like an aerial tramway bucket on a track. I'll see if I can find any pictures.
