I'm going to guess it is the worlds tallest, fastest, and longest ...

Again, I will tell you that "gimmicks" don't impress me. It's very rare that I get excited over the worlds ..est, ..est, ..est, ANYTHING...

How often is it that something that tries to break records ends up being the world's best in a category?

Millennium Force.

Hey. I never said it DOESN'T happen, but how often DOES it happen?

I was just kidding around.

I agree with you, record breaking rides usually aren't the best coasters.

Ugh, Magnum is AWFUL. I would not even THINK about going out of my way for that ride. (Sorry Magnum/CP fans, but it flat out sucks.) I usually skip it on visits to Cedar Point. (And my knees & thighs thank me!)

I'm fully expecting the announcement of the inverted RMC AquaTrax tilt coaster to come on time.

'I'm very interested to see what this actually turns out being, and Robb is usually a pretty good judge of ride quality so if he's excited then I see no reason to not look forward to this.

About 50% of Magnum is waiting to see if you'll ever get over the lift.

I agree. Gimmicks just give the park an "advertisement trophy" to attempt to boost attendance and have a small claim to fame. It absolutely doesn't mean it's the best.

I'm intrigued with this project though. If Robb's reaction was:

"Wait, what? No. You're joking. This cannot possibly be real..."
VERY few projects throughout the history of the industry come to mind to make someone have that kind of reaction... those being like when the concept art for B:TR/Inverted coaster was previewed and allegedly met with laughter, or X's original announcement/computer animation was met with gasps (I remember watching a video someone filmed from some enthusiast event that depicted the final design of X and everyone gasped in disbelief as the animation showed the seat rotation during the 1st drop). So with his reaction, I'm seeing this as a major game changer.

I had never heard of Kolmarden until today, but I have to say I'm extremely intrigued! Props to you Robb for being able to keep it a secret, I wouldn't be able to hold in something this exciting

Magnum isn't even in my top 5 coasters at Cedar Point, but when it opened in 1989, it was revolutionary.

"Gimmick" to me suggests that is all the ride has going for it--like Son of Beast. But a well-designed RMC with those features would be game changing and also a good ride, so that was my logic at least. Glad to hear your input though, helps to refine our speculation!
