cfc
How about a fun house themed to Fox News? Fox News Fun House? Not Fun at all, I'd say. Disgusting House more like it. Well, they do distort reality, as do fun houses.

Diamondbacker27
Jurassic Park: The coaster I know they have a River adventure. But a coaster would also be fun. It needs a Spinosaurs included in this one also.
coasterbill
Well, what about a ride/coaster themed around an NHL hockey team? What about Rick DiPietro the ride? The ride would cost the park 36 million dollars and would feature a launch section. On either side of the launch track there could be lots of fiberglass hockey pucks so you can experience the feeling of hockey pucks sailing past you almost effortlessly. To add to the immersive experience, after the first year or two of the ride's operation it would break down and would remain broken for 13 more years. The ride would become an embarrassment to the park who would still be on the hook for the entire 36 million dollar price tag and every time guests came to the park they'd be forced to walk by the SBNO ride and would be reminded about the horrible financial investment the park made. Zem
A K'nex themed Euro Fighter would make sense. They could brand it after one of their sets. Edited February 11, 2014 by Zem
Solid Gold
Also Ghostbusters seems like the perfect fodder for a shooting dark ride. This exists. Sally has a model of the entire ride that was never built, and it looks really really really good. My vote in the hat is for a Sesame Street shooting dark ride for Busch Gardens Tampa located behind the current safari of fun where your goal is to collect ABC's that are located throughout the ride. There would be a display with every letter and number on the ride vehicle in front of you, and your job would be to light up all of those letters. All while elmo and Big bird are cheering you on and making jokes. With all the scenes themed to different parts of Africa or something. Would be technically challenging but the most fun ride ever for both young kids and adults who would be obsessed in gathering Letters 1-26 and numbers 0-9 in a single ride. Also, it's apparent from this thread that every park needs a shooting dark ride!

What do you think? That's fantastic.....in fact, it sounds like an ideal ride for Darien Lake!! Awww, crap......now that thread is gonna blow up again and rise to the top! I always thought a "24" themed dark ride/shooter would be awesome! Although, I love that show, so I might be biased.....
arby
I agree with some previous posts - I think something awesome could be done with the Muppets. I don't see that anybody mentioned 24. I would like to see something themed to that. You could certainly tie that into a shooting dark ride.

Dr. M
A dark ride based on Cronnenberg's The Fly. At one point you get digestive goo spewed in your face.
netdvn
Since nobody's mentioned it yet, a ride based on Doctor Who is long overdue for any park US, UK, or otherwise. You've got 50 years worth of "monster of the week" and 50 years of content to work with. You could easily build roller coasters, dark rides (shooting and non-shooting), haunted attractions, even childrens rides off the concept. - Hell each episode/serial could count as a standalone attraction in itself. Had to rib ya a little bit, since it made me chuckle since our posts were right next to each other! All in good fun though.... I'm just glad someone else has the same vision of the awesomeness that would be a "24" shooter dark ride. Although, with as tense as that show can get, I'm not sure many people's hearts could handle the ride!
rcjp
I've always imagined a Mr. Bean themed ride. It could be called: "Bean: The ride", it would have a launch from a dark section and right before it you would have a screen showing this scene: the one from 1:40 to 1:
Someotherguyuser
Ghostbusters! Imagine if they made a shoot-em-up ride that would use similar ride tech to Empire of the Penguin. It would be a really awesome dark ride with a giant Puffy the Marshmellowman animatronic at the end.

Nrthwnd
^ But the thread is asking about a ride, not something like in a theatre where you sit and have stuff happen. A Bug's Life at DAK would be the same as the Muppets Movie at the Studios. Hey - A Bugs Life RIDE might be something interesting too, to consider. Maybe an overhead thing like Peter Pan, only with the dandelions and clovers as the 'kite'.
Pyrozooka0
Yes, Despicable Me already has Minion Mayhem, but I think it would be a great property for a family dark ride/coaster. Maybe have a launch section at one point, and show a scene of two minions arguing over whether or not to push the big red button. Obviously, the button would end up being pushed, causing the train to launch.
