What was the biggest amount of money you spent on a trip?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

What was the biggest amount of money that you spent on a roller coaster trip?

My most expensive trip so far was my America trip (including TPR Texas/Midwest trip, private pre AND post trip add-on) this year! I spent approximately $5,5k on that trip and it was worth every single penny!

Tell us about your roller coaster trip expenses!

I'm pretty sure I spent close to $7,000 on the TPR Scandi trip. I love fresh salmon and found myself splurging on meals in these very expensive countries. Oh, and that stupid casino on the cruise ship.

I think Japan was cheaper because I found awesome airfare that year.

I could even say for certain what the most expensive trip I've done on my own. My own personal trips are usually domestic and no longer than 7-9 days. Probably in the range of $1,500.

Maybe around $1000 on our trip to Cali... Most of our trips are usually sub $700 a person with airfare, hotel, cars, etc... We find amazing rental homes for a fraction of the price as the hotels we usually stay at (Hilton Vacation Resorts and such), so it helps cheapen it quite a bit. We go to Orlando very often but its extremely cheap for us there, sometimes under $500 for a week with the flight, rental car, park tickets (we have passes so sometimes we don't need to buy any) and food.

The Texas/Midwest cost me around $3,600 this past summer. Worth every single penny. However my off-tour trips I do on a tight budget. I think last time I did Tampa/Orlando it cost me $650 for everything. (Didn't have to pay for Busch Gardens Tampa and stayed with a friend).

I think Scandi will be my most expensive coming up, im already at about 5500 for that, and i'm sure by the time were done i will be around 6500-7k.

I get lucky on a lot of my trips though as I travel a lot for work and have a bunch of Hotel and Airline points that i can use. The downside is I like to keep my status with United, so sometimes i end up paying a little bit more for my flights, but it is worth it in the long run.

Around $5k maybe more for a 3+ week in Japan. It included many popular amusement parks (few off the beaten path), climbing Mt Fuji, the Ninja Warrior Challenge park, many drinks from the various vending machines, partying at clubs that were open until 9am, lots of sushi and kobe beef and a myriad of other things... best time of my life and worth every penny.
