OISU8P
I was looking and did not see a topic like this. Sorry if there is one and I did not find it. Does anyone have any rare or unique ornaments from parks that you place on your tree each year? Anything that could be considered a collectors item or an antique? If not anything rare, then just something you love so much it makes the front of the tree each year? Edited November 30, 2013 by robbalvey
robbalvey
I like the idea of this thread. Can we make it the "Post a picture of your theme park Christmas Tree" thread? We have a few and will post them when we set up our tree this year.
pianojohn
Here are a few of my favorites. I also hang a lot of key chains on my tree since they make nice ornaments, and some smaller parks may not make specific Christmas ornaments. This one is actually called "Polar Coaster!" A new classic Cool one from CP Another CP one My three trashiest ornaments representing the Jersey Shore: Snookie, the Situation, and Pauly D! From my TPR secret Santa this year! My tree can be either white lights.... Or color!
CoasterLover
Just recently started collecting theme park related ones, but have a few cool movie/theater type ornaments... Busch Gardens Williamsburg (Christmas Town) Hershey Knoebels Some of our movie related ornaments (Hunger Games) Harry Potter Some fun musical/light up theater related ornaments (Phantom of the Opera) Wish they would have continued this series... the ornaments are quite heavy, but play a pretty long clip of decent quality music from the show's soundtrack... would love to have similar looking ones for some newer shows (Avenue Q, Book of Mormon, Wicked, etc)... OISU8P
As the person that started this thread, I fill obligated to also post mine. I am a little behind this year, since I am moving into my new house the week of Dec 16 and should have this unpacked around then. I have some of the ceramic rides with LEDS that sit below the tree. My first real ornament is the TPR one for this year. and planning on collecting more...
Philrad71
After 1.5 days of house decorating, everything is finally DONE! Below are our ornaments although I just started collecting them from parks visited a few years ago (with the exception of Michael's retro Disney ornament). 2013 Club TPR ornament - thanks Robb & Elissa! There is also an ornament showing a small, unknown park with an obscure wooden roller coaster. Dollywood and Top Thrill Dragster. Disneyworld & Hershey. Another new one for 2013 - Holiday World and Splashin' Safari (which is on the other side). Holiday World with Story Book Forest at Idlewild. Looks like Kings Island is getting the new hotness next year so a return trip might be in order! Love the Grinch ornament from Universal IOA! Michael's retro Disney ornament from 1983! 2012 Club TPR ornament still representing. Tree overview. Happy Holiday's everyone!
arby
Here's our amusement park-themed tree that is in my man cave. It is a work in progress.
cfc
Here are some of my park-related ornaments. First, the entire tree. It's a special Shiriki Utundu Christmas! Club TPR is, of course, represented. Self-explanatory This year's Busch Gardens Williamsburg ornament. From Carowinds' Winterfest from a number of years back. WDW is here, too. This roller-coaster ornament still works. Another old Christmas Town ornament.
Nrthwnd
Darn, I wished I'd found one of those amusement park ornaments. Very cool looking.

Nice, but why does the CP ornament have Mavericks support snapped and Mantis isn't even on the track? It might just be the angle of the picture. But not sure, sorry if that was a dumb question. cfc
^Because it's a Christmas ornament and not an architectural rendering?
Woodie Warrior
I believe the only theme-park related ornaments I have are a few my grandparents got for me from Hersheypark and my 2013 Club TPR ornament. We are still in the process of decorating the tree so I can't take any pics.' Edit: I remember I have this year's SDC season pass holder ornament as well. arby
From Carowinds' Winterfest from a number of years back. 2005 if I recall correctly. I wish I were collecting ornaments back then - that one would be great in my collection and is a rare find.

Mrlittle
I never thought of buying Theme Park related ornaments. I really like the Grinch ornament that was posted.
Nrthwnd
I also hang a lot of key chains on my tree since they make nice ornaments. That's what I do, only with all the capsule (usually) cell phone things from my past Japan tours. So it's a mix of actual park logo and related stuff, and these non-theme park related...things. They look pretty good on it. And I will post when our tree is ready for it's close-up, ho ho ho.
DanM64
I only have 3 theme park related ornaments. I picked up 2 at CP this fall, and the the one Robb and Elissa sent out for my Club TPR membership (MANY thanks for that!!) This is my first year owning my own home (purchased last November and moved in the week after Christmas), so I hope to keep collecting ornaments as I do my park travels. JimmyBo
We finally got all our decorations up so here's my tree with theme park related crap…I mean stuff… Enjoy! Jimmy "Next task is to make an ice slide in the backyard…which might be difficult in Arizona" Bo Here's our honeymoon ornament from Walt Disney World This puppy stopped working last year but it's still up and is still my favorite! Here's one we got when we visited Downtown Disney in Cali…but not Disneyland…no time for it. A La Nouba ornament we got on our honeymoon at Walt Disney World Who puts years on ornament?!?! This is pretty lame I love the Ron Toomer coat hanger effect with the squiggles! Another lame ornament It even lights up and moves and plays music really LOUD! Seriously, the music was so loud I had to put masking tape over the speaker to tone down the volume. Then there's this little guy my in-laws got me when they realized I loved theme parks. The beautiful, fake tree!
xingfu
decided to monorail the tree this year.
Wingwright
Great thread! I don't have many theme park ornaments, but now I want more. One of my favorite ornaments - Holidog! Here it is - My first full sized tree. I got it for super cheap on Black Friday!
TBpony414
Great thread idea! Some of these ornaments are really cool and I never even thought to use keychains. That's genius! And much cheaper and easier to store than fragile round balls (no way of phrasing this better haha.) We don't have our tree yet and all our ornaments are still in boxes in the basement but once we get it up I'll snap a few pics. We have some neat park ones. cal1br3tto
I had no idea that decorating with keychains was so widespread. Makes a lot of sense, though.
