Old, Gone Rides You'd Like To Ride - One Last Time

Recommended Posts

There is still one left in operation (there may be a second still operating in the UK, it was as of a few years ago), but the Fly-o-Plane at Lake Winnie is ridiculously awesome and intense! It may be my favorite flat alongside the Modial Top Scan and Zamperla Giant Discovery.

Our local fireman's carnival had one of these up until about 2 years ago. So much fun. The actually still have the ride in storage and plan to bring it back some time in the future.

That's good to know! Where is that exactly?

I wonder how many of these are still hiding in storage but operational.

The old rides that I would love to ride again besides 'Cuda Falls at Darien Lake

*Cascade Canyon (Darien Lake)

*Drachen Fire (Busch Gardens Williamsburg)

*Chaos (Opryland)

*Steel Phantom (Kennywood)

*Gwazi (Busch Gardens Tampa)

*Any Huss Ranger ride (frankly, I think that Huss should bring back the "Ranger" ride model)

Never even rode it once but Ozark Wildcat.

Ohhh, it was such a good ride. So much airtime, and lateral forces. I wish it could have some how made its way to SDC.

Yes, that one went before its time. My personal favourite GCI, out of about a dozen total. At least we got Outlaw Run as consolation.

I would love to ride Disaster Transport, Wildcat (CP), and Shockwave (KD) one last time as I loved all three of those rides when I rode them.

In regards to rides I have never ridden, I would ride Big Bad Wolf, Batman and Robin: The Chiller, Riverview Bobs, and Eagle's Fortress.

Jenkinson Boardwalk Fun House (With the Fart Room)

Great one! We had a classic Laff In The Dark, that included some smelly areas of the ride.

Through a turning psycho tunnel, up short hills and down through others. All mostly total

darkness. They really knew how to cover the "sudden lit spots", that exposed from time to time.

Photo is of the early Laff that was in Long Beach, California. Vancouver (PNE) Playland's outside version was

almost identical to this one, with a central upper display area for animatronics, etc. And like this version,

the cars entered into the left doors, and exited out the right doors. Then it was closed down and became

an indoor show arena during the PNE. Then that got scrapped, and its now mainly split up, Arcade on the left,

and Haunted Mansion walk-through on the right half of the space.

Ours was identical (outside facade) to this one, in Long Beach CA.

I'd love to ride X:\ No Way Out again before it turned into some sort of brightly lit nightclub themed ride. When it was a backwards in the dark coaster, it made it really exciting! Now it's just something to tick off the list

^The old X was dumb, but in a rather endearing way.

I agree, the transformation has breathed much needed life into ride and also they lowered the height restriction from a stupid 1.4m to a much more reasonable 1m. When I visit with friends I even ride it sometimes as its just plain fun!

I rode the Original X like three times when I visited England in primary school on a school field trip and i remember thinking it was one of the coolest things i've ever done for some reason, but the stops where it would stop, move forward, stop and with those smoke jet effects, i just really liked it. I've unfortunately only been to Thorpe after the transformation.
