Invertalon
Made a trek back down to HHN Orlando this year after a few years of not going. We were really happy we did, as this years event was fantastic. We went to HHN every night from Thursday to Sunday... Did the season pass holder early entry and stay-and-scream as well, which allowed us to basically do all the houses within the first hour and a half or so. Afterward, we just repeated houses with shorter waits. In the end, we must have hit all the houses around 4-5 times, as well as watching Bill and Ted (which was great, we thought), had a few drinks, rode various attractions and met up with a few friends. Between all the houses, our personal top three was Evil Dead, Cabin in the Woods and Werewolf in London. At the bottom, I would probably put Havoc in there... While still a good house, just fell behind all the others. I surprisingly even enjoyed the 3D house, probably the best of the type I have seen. I enjoyed the effects and it was not just a bunch of neon paint thrown around. This year, I honestly felt that no house was bad. All were good to great, so that was awesome. Scare zones were so-so... I really wish they kept all the walking dead stuff in a section or two of the park and did some other types of zones elsewhere. I did enjoy the skits they did, like the walkers attacking the car at the front of the park and going after the fireball each time by Disaster. There was a tank one as well by Twister but we had missed it, sadly. Best zombie of the event would have to go the half-zombie by the barn... He simply does a fantastic job with the character. Overall, we had a blast at this years event. We were so glad we made it back down again and hope to make it back again next year. All the photos in high resolution (100+) can be found here: I also have a video I put together from the event... Links are below. Hilltopper39
Awesome pictures, the detial in some of the walkers make up is amazing, I'll be attending this years event the very last night (November 3rd) and I'm looking forward to it. Which house is in the parade building this year?
Invertalon
Thanks everyone! Downunder, We went every year from about 2004 until 2009 when we stopped going. The event just was not as good the last year or so, so we decided to hold off a few years until we would go again. This year all the houses were very good though, although the zones are still lacking considerably from what they used to be. I hope in the next few years they put a bit more focus into the zones and making some really unique/fun areas. Hilltopper, What building is the parade one? Not that familiar. The houses in the sound stages are: Cabin in the Woods is the first soundstage behind blue-man, closest to the front of the park (entrance by Despicable Me). Resident Evil is next (behind the stage setup), Werewolf in London next to that (closer to Twister) and finally Evil Dead at the far end back by the turnaround for Rockit. Not sure if this helps! Hilltopper39
The parade building (or what I always thought was called the parade building) is the large permanent structure back behind Barney section and Men in Black, not the two pop up "tents". It's where Scary tales, Silver Screams, and Hallowed Past has been in recent years. For whatever reason it always felt like whatever was in that building was the next best thing to the sound stage houses (sometimes maybe even better). Invertalon
That would be Walking Dead this year! That house was good, but not as strong as Evil Dead or Cabin in the Woods (I thought). But it really depends on each time you go through any house if you get all the scares or have terrible timing throughout. Sometimes for example, Werewolf was awesome... You caught every effect and plenty of good scares. Other times, you may miss almost everything. So it is always worth trying a house out 2-3 times, at least, before you come to a conclusion. But Walking Dead was themed very well and had some great parts throughout. My only issue with this house was all the light leak above as you walk throughout the house... It made it feel a bit less "believable". Other houses had roofs and other stuff that blocked you from looking up and seeing the roof of the building (which I prefer). Others may have been the same, but this is the one I noticed it each time so it bothered me a bit.

The zombie pictures are awesome and kudos to the make-up effect artists that made those zombies look so realistic. Jimmy "Awesome pictures!"
