CaptainUnknown
IAAPA starts in a week and we still don't have an official Hangtime POV. I wouldn't be surprised if it debuts at the Gerstlauer booth.
MF4lyfe
First off, thanks for the photos! However, I am super confused about those footers for Hang Time. Never seen them like that before. Does anyone know why they're built that way? Perhaps they're going to fill them in with concrete after the supports are installed? Seems like that wouldn't work. But if they don't, it seems like a bad idea to have a "pit" where water and dust can collect, and also kind of a pain in the butt to install the nuts on the bolts where the footers connect to the concrete? I'm sure I'm missing something but maybe someone on her can explain.
WestCoasterKing
What's up with those footings? The supports are set down inside rather than bolted on top. Is that normal for Gerstlauer? I googled it and can't seem to find answer. EDIT: ^ Beat me to it. RyanTPM
^This is normal for them, all their coasters have supports inserted and cemented in, rather than bolted.
WestCoasterKing
^ Is there some kind of benefit to it or are they just trying to be different?
WestCoasterKing
HangTime rises above Mine Ride and I suspect it's not yet finished rising.

So yeah, it's a significant addition in the amount of time. Edited November 8, 2017 by k_peek_2000

WestCoasterKing
Loving the colors! Can't wait to see those nighttime track chase lights! Speaking of which, I wonder how the new support color will affect that effect. I also wonder if that change is why they haven't released a POV vid yet. KnottsBerryMountain
I can’t wait! I love the color scheme, I hope they won’t make the midway even tinier though.

Arthur_Seaton
To be honest, I'll be surprised if I find this ride to my taste as back-to-back inversions don't do much for me, and I find beyond-vertical drops a bit underwhelming. With that said, I think the ride looks fantastic — the perfect fit for the space, and it's bound to be a crowd pleaser. With the lighting package installed, it's really going to transform the area. MayTheGForceBeWithYou
Nice to see an official animation released (and lap bars on those trains)!

I somewhat agree with you. It looks good but not GREAT. Still a perfect (and long overdue) addition to the park though. I just look at it this way: it’s WAY better than Boomerang! So it has already improved the park by default.
awclark
Animation looks great! I def see this being a hit with the public with its eye-catching tangle of track, unique set of elements, and lap bar only restraints. The lighting package at night should look stunning too and overall it will certainly round out what has felt like their multi-year long overhaul of the boardwalk. I'll agree that it most likely won't top any enthusiast charts, but as a whole it looks to be a pretty well rounded, unique, and fun coaster with its 96º drop, cool roll-over pretzel element right after, and that nice pop of air before the cobra roll. It's not the mega mondo hyper/giga/RMC/Intamin airtime monster that most enthusiasts with their "roller coaster tycoon" mentality really want, but like some have said already... it's lightyears better than keeping a 27 going on 28 year old Boomerang! I agree - I think overall this will be a good addition for KBF, if not solely because it replaced an aging Boomerang.
ytterbiumanalyst
I like the video. If this ends up being Monster with a dive coaster stall, it'll be really great! Definitely looking forward to getting back to Knott's, hopefully within the next couple of years.
