SoCalJasonland
I went to Knott's on Wednesday, November 1st for a few hours. It was relatively busy for a weekday and pretty much every ride had a line. Having Xcelerator, Ghostrider, log ride and SOL Spin down made it feel kind of crowded. I spent 20 minutes in line each to ride the mine train and Silver Bullet. The new coaster track is in a lot on Western Ave between the burnt fire house and the strip mall on the corner. I also realized that I like the Boysenberry Cider that they sell in the park! Coaster track storage lot from Western Ave Coaster track storage lot from Western Ave Coaster track storage lot to the right of burnt fire station as viewed from Coast Rider exit. Only the crane is visible. Log ride closed for Halloween removal Place with Boysenberry Cider! Silver Bullet line down the stairs on non-holiday weekday Haunted coach Silver Bullet one train still running Why does she get to stand in the planter? Water dummies only on SOL Spin
thrillseeker4552
Nice mini-report. I’m glad the supports for HangTime are more of a tan rather than the silver like in the concept art. That color combined with the blue seems much more appropriate for a beach boardwalk themed ride. I can’t wait to see vertical construction start, which shouldn’t be much longer now that most, if not all, of the foundations appear ready. Also, too bad Sol Spin and Xcelerator are still closed. I’m really hoping Knott’s can get all of their attractions operating by next summer, including Sky Cabin.

WestCoasterKing
I'm surprised they haven't razed the old fire station yet.

I can't see anyone working on it when I walk by it but I don't know if anything is happening in the launch motor room.
Jew
You can get the cider at Boardwalk BBQ as well. The "boysenberry bite" (mix of cider and beer) is quite good.

Thanks for the advice. I tired the beer and cider and found cider better but I will need to try them mixed. I do like snake bites.
Nrthwnd
A snakebite is an alcoholic drink made with equal parts of lager and cider. Snakebite in the United Kingdom may be served with a dash of blackcurrant cordial, referred to as a snakebite and black. Stout may be used instead of lager in the United States. Noted! Hey, I like Shandies, Russian Mules, and Mexican Beer-Clamato juice mix-ups, so this is cool to know, thanks! My Current Nirvana - beer and clamato juice, plus SPICES, Ole! TPR 2013 Mexico Tour. susie zueck
What's the latest with Xcelerator. Is there any sign of life over there? The latest rumor floating around states that Knott's is aiming to reopen Xcelerator by April.

WestCoasterKing
Boy, they are working fast. In addition to some supports, they already have some track and machinery for the lift approach installed.
Canobie Coaster
It's amazing just how compact the ride's layout is. Should really liven up the boardwalk.
WestCoasterKing
It's amazing just how compact the ride's layout is. Should really liven up the boardwalk. That's the thing about Gerstlauer's. They could never fit a 2,200 foot B&M with five inversions in that space.

thrillseeker4552
It's great to see vertical construction start! It's only barely November, so I wouldn't be surprised if track work is completed in only a few months, given the compact layout and reliable weather in SoCal. I could see an April opening, in time for the Boysenberry Festival, assuming there are no major hiccups. That would be awesome.
SoCalJasonland
It looks like Knott's might be working on Sky Cabin soon. They got a building permit in October to work on it.

WestCoasterKing
^^ Why do they need a permit just to work on Sky Cabin, or any ride for that matter? I can see if they are actually building something but just to work on it?

Nrthwnd
^ Maybe they're going to build more around the base and load/unload area? Which might require a permit?

City governments need their funds and want to be sure that repairs are to building code.

WestCoasterKing
^ Yes, they are going to upgrade the ladder and catwalk. I though that just meant they were going to work on it.
