The Knott's Berry Farm (KBF) Discussion Thread

P. 651: Montezooma's Revenge project terminated?

Recommended Posts

What is the Coaster run?

It's an annual 5k/10k charity race they hold at the park. It's cool because the race route goes through the inside of the park (and Soak City).

It was pouring this morning and the parking lot was full of puddles. I showed up about an hour early and immediately soaked both shoes and socks. I honestly thought about turning around and heading home, but I waited it out in my car. Luckily, the rain stopped about 10 minutes before the race began and I was able to finish it in the dry weather. It was a lot of fun. Highly recommended, even for very casual runners like me!

^ Oh... you mean people actually put their feet on The Ground, and uh...r-u-n on their feet...?

Nope. I will support, but I will not run.

Doesn't that sound...political?

I never knew that I felt so much for Knott's, as I have now, since my last visit there

was in... 1996? Disney Resort is/was fine, but I still feel Knott's feels comfy and family-run.

Looking forward to all of that comfiness, in early September.

Could something like Gale Force fit in Riptides Spot

I was thinking the same thing.

Oooooooo. Replace boomerang with it

I wish they were as adamant about keeping the original corkscrew and parachute jump as they seem to be about keeping Boomerang, I don't think they have any plans on removing it sadly. I'd like to see it replaced with a Giant version especially since SFMM got ride of theirs and I loved Deja vu

Also isn't Windseekers spot available? I know they can fit something Gale force in there some where damn it lol couldn't be no slower moving and lower capacity as Xcelerator!!!

passed by to take a look at Ghostrider today. no idea it was going to be open until 8. roughly a 1 train wait for Silver Bullet and Xcelerator at about 4ish. probably a ghost town now.

anyway, looks like all the wood work is done on Ghostrider. still no steel i can see anywhere except the lift and pre lift.

^ Slow season means maintenance season. Xcelerator is, well, always one train. Silver Bullet's second train is currently in pieces being taken care of. I can only assume the same goes for Sierra Sidewinder. Pony Express only really needs a second train if there's a large crowd. I hope I don't have to explain Monty and Boomerang.

silver bullet's second train looks all put together, ready and willing when needed as of yesterday.

I visited on Friday, 3/11 for a couple of hours. Sierra Sidewinder had two trains on today with no wait. Monte is open again. Silver Bullet's second train still has a couple of parts next to it but hopefully they get it up by Spring Break because it had a half hour wait around 1 pm. Lots of work on Ghost Rider but it looks the same as no top rail.

Boysenberry updates:

The newly renovated Saloon is absolutely gorgeous. Seriously, it looks like they spared no expense. The stage lights and speakers are all hidden now, the wood is all new and dark stained, and best of all... CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING. That will be a Godsend during the summer.

The Fun Bun from last year has a new counterpart... the Fun Stick. It's a slice of cheesecake on a stick that's dipped in batter and fried, then topped with powdered sugar and boysenberry frosting. As you may have guessed, it is RICH. I could barely finish it. Also, the chicken sandwich has changed from last year. No more grilled onions and peppers, now its more standard with just tomato and coleslaw on a wheat burger bun. I liked last year's better.
