KnottsBerryMountain
Could Xcelerator's track be getting some new paint? I noticed that half of the side track has fresh new paint and if you look closely, the other side doesnt.
thrillseeker4552
^I sure hope it's being re-painted! After all, the GM said "we are turning our focus back to the Boardwalk". I know this refers to the KotD building, but that doesn't mean they can't freshen up Xcelerator too.
Atter
It really needs a fresh coat of paint. It would be great if this is true.
KnottsBerryMountain
I hope it really does get repainted. I love the color its like coral/neon pink.
Xceleratorfan96
The cause is still under investigation, but authorities believe it may have been caused by a worker that was welding. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
KBrylczyk
Been a while since I popped into this thread. Here's hoping someone can offer some advice - The girlfriend and I are thinking of a trip to Knott's in two or three weeks. I check the website about Fast Lane but unfortunately the redirect is wrong (just goes to the homepage) and it won't show my the list of attractions offered or any restrictions on it. We're not positive on even buying Fast Lane when we go, I just wanted an idea of price and what's available beforehand in case the place is a zoo when we get there. All I could find out on the site was that it starts at $35 per person. I'm guessing they do the same tier-style system that Six Flags does. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks! thrillseeker4552
^FastLane is a wristband, not an electronic device like at Six Flags. There is only one type (KBF didn't get FastLane Plus like the bigger CF parks did), and the price varies depending on how many you buy. If you buy 3 or less (your scenario), they are $55 each. If you buy 4 or more, they are $45 each. The rides you can use it on are: 1. Bigfoot Rapids 2. Boomerang 3. Coast Rider 4. GhostRider 5. Jaguar 6. Montezooma's Revenge 7. Pony Express 8. Sierra Sidewinder 9. Silver Bullet 10. Supreme Scream 11. Timber Mountain Log Ride I highly recommend getting FastLane. I've gotten it several times, and it allows you to ride so much more. The only downside is that it doesn't include Xcelerator, so make sure you hit that ride as early as you can, because the line doesn't fill up until mid-day. Hope this helps! EDIT: I just re-checked the website, and apparently the pricing varies a little depending on what day you visit. I would expect to pay about $40 each, but it could be as low as $35 and as high as $55 depending on the day. Sorry for the confusion.
KBrylczyk
^ Thanks for that, though it is kinda disappointing to see Xcelerator isn't on the list. Last time we went (last September) the park was completely empty and we rode Xcelerator probably 5 times in a row, in the front, without getting off of the train. It was a pretty awesome day, haha. Here's hoping the place isn't too crowded. Or we could just bum around LA for the day. I haven't been to a filming of @midnight yet, haha.
rcdude
^When Knott's first adopted a line skip system (I think it was the "Hate to Wait" pass), Xcelerator was included and caused a ton of issues since riders had to enter from the exit. I remember riding during this period when the wait was at the bottom of the ramp (normally about 15 minutes) and the line took nearly an hour. I've got a feeling this, combined with the poor capacity of the coaster if only one train is running (more often than not the case), is the reason it has never been available with Fast Lane. Honestly, if you have all day and are visiting on a weekday, you rarely need Fast Lane at Knott's. GhostRider and sometimes Sierra Sidewinder do get long lines, but it is uncommon for anything else in the park to have a line greater than 30 minutes if being run at capacity. Just get there at opening, do Sierra Sidewinder first, then head to the Boardwalk and go counter-clockwise from there. Without Fast Lane, you'll probably still be done with everything by 4 P.M. or so, allowing plenty of time for re-rides.

jray21
I would have no problem if they painted Xcelerator another color. I do not like the Vomit pink and green.

Guy T. Koepp
^^Awww Dude! I love the colors. Mostly because they are so different from any other coaster colors on the planet. I just wish they could keep them fresh and shiny like when they were new.

While Xcelerator does look ugly up close, I'd advise you to see a doctor if your puke is that color.

Guy T. Koepp
^Oh yeah, I remember it well. Pepto Bismol, Key Lime Pie and Ron Rico white rum blended into a frothy goo. I believe they actually call that drink an Xcellerator.
KnottsBerryMountain
Xcelerator colors are not the best but they fit to the 50's theme.
Jerome
Whats up with Riptide? It hasn't been open for months. Riptide is from another country. I forgot which one. But when it does need parts, it takes forever to get them made. It's been closed for months waiting on parts.
Jew
There have been reports/rumors for a long time that HUSS was in trouble.
DJeXeL
^Didn't Huss file for chapter 11 years ago? I know chapter 11 doesn't mean you are bankrupt as Vekoma came out of chapter 11 but I agree that Huss is in trouble. Riptide might be out of there in a few seasons. CoasterGuy06
^My understanding is that after their bankruptcy they no longer keep parts in stock and only produce them when they receive payment. This is what leads to delays of several months when a park needs a part.
DJeXeL
^Makes sense. Most of Riptides issues were programming/electrical.
KnottsBerryMountain
I wonder what flat ride will go in plant seeker's spot? I'm hoping for a starflyer or a gran slammer type ride.
