My two-word review for the park today is "painfully busy". Ghostrider had two-trains running, the top and bottom queue rooms were full, and the line went back to the Ghostrider rock entrance. The app said two-hour wait, but I am guessing longer. Since I got there at 10:00 am, I was able to run to the back and get a couple of rides on Xcelerator before the line got too long. The only things I didn't have to wait for were the Boardwalk BBQ, another stop for an Elysian IPA, and the Sky Cabin. Somewhere around 10 minutes into my SOL Spin wait, I decided "I have been queuing for SOL Spin for ages" and cut the day short. I guess six rides, BBQ, cider and beer in approx 3 1/2 hours isn't horrible, but you pull better numbers on traditional school days.

i've stopped by twice this week. it's been crazy busy. when i drove up beach monday and saw people walking from the dirt lot on la palma, i knew it was going to be packed.

Yeah, I wouldn't go near the place for the next couple of weeks. It should be quiet(ish) around mid-April or so.

I was there Wednesday and there were stupid long waits for everything except the mine ride which I got on in about ten minutes.

I went yesterday, and it was super crazy busy. The queues were full and maxed out for Ghostrider and Bigfoot Rapids (!). Even had a full house for Mystery Lodge! Lines for all food options were very long all over the the park, except for the Boysenberry Festival items (mainly because they can move people faster since it's only a single item and they can pay by a tab). Much of the crew seemed a bit overworked, but were trying their best. It was still pretty overwhelming. If it weren't for a Fast Lane pass, there's no way we would've gotten on much. Even some waits with Fast Lane were semi-long.

 

Sol Spin seemed to be down all day. Hangtime was testing, but there's still a lot of construction work going on around it. It tested at night, but without any lighting. Has anyone seen it test it's night lighting package? Personally, I can't see it opening until after the Boysenberry Festival is over mid-April. But I would guess it'd open not long afterwards. Knott's has tweeted both that that the March 31 opening date was wrong, and that an opening date would be coming soon, but still no word yet.

 

It was nice to ride Xcelerator again, and I had one of the best rides of Ghostrider in my entire life at park closing... I had no idea it turned into such a beast at night!

ghostrider feels so much better at night. to me, it's like how the beast is so much better at night than the day.

They are testing Hangtime a bunch right now. With the station work almost completed, I hope we get an opening date soon!

Really? I have never associated RCDB with anything other than a good source for stats like record holders, mph, height, drop, inversions.
