I'm glad to hear all this Ghostrider stuff. I remember riding that ride on April 17, 2012 in the final row and having an excellent ride. It must be increased maintenance.

So it is decided that my family will be ringing in to 2015 at Knott's this year. Has anyone been to the New Year celebration before? How is it? And are the rides open all the way until 1:00am?

Yup, the whole park stays open til 1:00. Certain shows adjust their times later for that day, but most will done by 9 or 10.

The trains on Supreme Scream stay at the top a little bit longer now.

^That's interesting. I'll have to check it out when I go on Wednesday. I always wondered why Supreme Scream almost immediately dropped when reaching the top compared to other S&S tower's I've ridden that hold riders up there much longer.

They used to stay up for about 3 seconds when it first opened.

^That's approximately how long it stayed up there when I last rode it in September. Maybe more like 2 seconds, actually.

I know Knott's is busy on New Year's Eve, but are the lines for rides somewhat manageable? My family is debating about getting FastLane, and while it would greatly improve our experience, we don't want to buy it unless it is truly unbearable.

 

And is Silver Bullet running two trains? The line for that ride is so much more tolerable if both trains are running.

If you plan on coming on New Years I definitely recommend getting fast lane. The crowd's we've been getting are upwards of 28k+ so it'll definitely pay off. Feel free to stop by Ghost Rider and say hi

They must have been moving pretty slow. That queue FULL is only 40-45 minutes if they aren't stacking trains and the queue should continuously move.

I may be in the minority here... but I would NEVER wait 35 minutes for Ghostrider. . . Then again... my back can only handle about 12 seconds on Ghostrider...

Even 5 minutes for Ghostrider is too long to wait.

^ are you suggesting that even on an empty que, the 5 minute walk it takes to navigate through the whole station is too much?

The reason Supreme Scream has the cars at the top a little longer is because the park updated the system which makes the ride even more simple to operate. The control panel even has touch screens now. And just a heads up to anyone heading to the park this week, they are working on the train tracks where the pedestrian crossing is between fiesta village and boardwalk, so there are construction walls blocking off that pathway on both sides. If you want to get from Waveswinger to Supreme Scream, you have to walk all the way around Log Ride. In addition to that, Log Ride and Ghostrider will be closed for maintenance the remainder of this month.
