The Knott's Berry Farm (KBF) Discussion Thread

P. 651: Montezooma's Revenge project terminated?

Recommended Posts

Maybe this is a stupid question, but how is it even worth it for the park to be open on weekdays right now? Are they really getting enough customers to offset their operating costs? I went this afternoon and rode both Xcelerator and Silver Bullet at least 5 times without getting off (and I could have gone much longer if I wanted to). Literally everything was a walk-on.

We love hitting Knott's at this time of year because it is so dead during the day. Our kids have semi year round schooling and have break the first 2 weeks of October. We will be hitting Knott's the first week. Hopefully, they don't have some busloads of kids show up like what happened 2 years ago. They were not staffed up to handle the extra 1000 kids in the park.

Oh wow, I'm so sorry that was taken as a complaint! I absolutely love going to the park during this part of the year because of how empty it is. I just can't figure out how they aren't operating at a loss. I'm glad Knott's is able to pull it off, unlike some of the other parks in the area. It was just a question, not a comment. My apologies

I would only complain about having not enough people if every day is like a ghost town (hehe), more because the park might shut down one day. Though, Knott's isn't going anywhere anytime soon as it is the 2nd most profitable park in the CF chain. So be happy with less lines.

Doesn't really sound like a complaint here. I've always wondered how this park manages to stay open during the winter months. Seems like it's always a "Ghost Town" during the offseason.

^ I would add that being kind of the hybrid park between Disneyland and Magic Mountain probably helps a bit for people like me who like good theming and good rides.

I think knotts could be a better in between park, and with the right investments, could pull more people in.

^Well, if they do build a coaster, it could be integrated into the area like it was when it was under Windjammer (or was that wipe-out?) no matter what ride, it can be integrated into the area even if its the coaster. Which also means it would probably be permanent as long as the coaster doesn't get removed, lol.
