Photo TR: Opening day Karacho at Tripsdrill

Recommended Posts

Today was the opening day for the new coaster Karacho at Tripsdrill

Some specs:

4 trains for 2x4 passengers gives it a capacity of 960 persons/hour

The ride has a launch, darkride bit, airtime hill and 4 inversions

Launch accelerates you to 60 miles/hour in 1.6 seconds

Length of the entire coaster is 713 meters

No shoulder restraints but lapbar/clamshell's

This coaster is the first one with inversions for the park, extending the available range of attractions (and thrill factor) to include teenagers and people that are young of heart (with strong stomach as they said)

Theming for the ride and area is not finished yet but knowing the park and seeing what they've done so far regarding theming at their other attractions I can't wait to see what the area will look like next year (when theming is done)

Regarding the ride itself.. fun ride and a great addition to the parks attraction line-up.

No headbanging (due to no shoulder restaints) plenty of inversions and a couple of pops of airtime

all in all, nice fun ride.

Looking forward to riding it again in the future.

Here's a few pictures of today's opening event (and the coaster itself)

Looks great fun! Will be there in September - already booked my hotel in Heilbronn. Fluch also has the small drop before the launch.

300 guests for opening sounded very reasonable for a weekday during the holidays and the great weather. I guess the free beer isn't mandatory before the ride?

the 300 guests was the number of invited guests for the opening ceremony.

There were way way way more people in the park (as it should be)

Lunch food was great and drinks/beer always help.

Great report, Hanno! I love the little drop before the launch, don't think I have seen that before on a launched coaster.

Takabisha has it too.

Did it add anything to the ride experience? Seems like it would give that extra little oomph going into the launch.

Great coverage Hanno. I love that not only do the trains look cool, but the swirl/engines on the back of the trains light up also. Still interested to see what the rest of the theming will look like for the ride and station.

On Karacho that little drop gave a nice pop of air

These little indoor drops and inversions seem to be the big "thing" this year.
