Hhappy
Today was the grand opening of Juvelen at Djurs Sommerland. This new addition to the park is great for families that want to ride a coaster together and other people. It has 2 launches, is tire driven and is a fun (high speed) experience. When talking family rides i used to think "slow" things.. This ride goes crazy with that second launch. Sure it's not an airtime machine (go ride Piraten if you want airtime) but it's quick, fun and leaves a smile on your face when riding it. In the end, that's all that matters i think. Fun for a lot of ages and sizes and therefore fun for a lot of people. Minimum height to ride this: 120 cm The pre show is part of the story that you are riding those ATV's in the jungle to go after a certain expensive stone. More green will come in the first bit of the ride over time (the jungle). The pre-show will get updated as well as it's a bit too short at this time and who knows what else will be added in the future. Looking forward to another visit next year. POV Video: Pictures: lots of green track and yellow supports.. theming in the middle, yeah i think i'm there tire launch, looking at the station building lots and lots of new green trees planted, imagine how this ride is going to look when those have grown and are green.. yeah.. waterfall that looks like (close to) 90 Degrees Big wheels keep on turning time to check out the indoor queue bit before riding happy face? it's all about these "rocks" theming inside the station looking across from the loading side are you ready to ride?? and the back of the station ATV time the end of the theming (tunnel) before entering the station he's still around wait?? what's "Indy" doing here? banners from the ceiling imagine those lights being added inside and those eyes become bright red.. or the head starts moving.. hmm transfer track/area and other train back outside after riding and going through a shop and looking at your onride picture waterfall Looks cool Hi larry, Minimum height to ride is 120cm if you see this.. you are looking up entrance is underneath the name looks like a lot of people want to ride this new coaster Thor is close getting ready for the launch go go go first turn fun going up.. getting ready for that second launch going fast nice banking almost at the end more happy riders support in the back, and restraint on top of your leg hands up here they come whee happy faces fun for all ages so many smiles if hair goes like that.. it's going fast fun fun fun another quick look inside the station on the other side of the station here they come for that second launch big smiles over the water/lake other structure's track water trees going over the water launch as seen from the other side just because here they come nerd shot watch out for that water smiles and laughter sunshine gtting up close and personal yummie enjoying a good banking another train thank you for the tour and photo ops it's so much fun to do pictures like this family ride extreme nerd shot front of the train hands up.. or not.. smiles smiles smiles another train with happy riders station as seen from the back having fun? woops having fun and/or trying to hide for the camera? getting ready for launch 2 walking next to the second launch and i'll leave you with this Edited May 4, 2013 by Hhappy
chickenbowl
This like it's pretty intense and very fun for a "family coaster!" I'd love for one to be built in the states! Great pics!
cfc
Intamin does nice work with those tire-launched family coasters. This looks like a great addition to Djurs Sommerland (it's a very good park).

ernierocker
Great report, Hanno! Looks like the perfect family coaster, and agree with the poster above that the theming will look great once everything grows in.

_koppen
AWESOME! Now hopefully the wild mouse won't have an hour long line in the summer
Angry_Gumball
Looks like a fun family ride! Due to the launches, I'm nicknaming this "Tires-Tires-Tires!: The Ride". Certainly very twisty and looks like it's a pretty long ride too (well, anything's longer than most of the coasters at my home park ).
australianalex
Looks fantastic! I love Jet Rescue so I'm sure I'd love this. Intamin really stepped up their motocoaster design, especially when you look at their abysmal prototype (Motocoaster at Dreamworld). Djurs Sommerland is definitely on my bucket list now, seems to have a wonderful collection of coasters.
PKI Jizzman
Interesting braking system. Looks like a great ride. Good length...but I don't know why the second launch more towards beginning of the ride versus the middle.
simon8899
Looking good! Will most likely hit Djurs and Faarup in June...
OCJ48
Looks immensely fun, though I'm still not sure what the Satanic Intro of Death has to do with Mayans and quad bikes.
arpi
Hello Hanno, great pictures and an a really good video of this new coaster at Djurs! This ride has all that a good coaster should have: theming, a preshow, acceleration, steep banking, speed and a little bit airtime. I had so much fun on my rides yeasterday and everytime I had a big smile on my face. Right ride for a sweet park. Everybody, from the little kid up to grand parents, who rode the coaster, loved it. The part after the second launch is my favorite: Much speed an disorienting direction changes. I wish Djurs good luck an many more visitors for and with this ride. The weather was also a friend of this coaster and sends the sun for the opening. The park was very friendly and helpfull with the media people and the coasterfriends. Thank you very much for the invitement an the possibilities on that day. And last but not least: Hanno, it was a pleasure to meet you, fun to talk with you (Your German is much better than what comes from some germans!) and I hope we see us again. You were the first ThemeParkReview member I meet live but I hope you will not be the last when everybody is so kind as you. Greetings from germany, Mathias

Cyrbuzz
Cool looking ride that tire launch reminds me a little bit like Hulk's launch. I wish we could get a few coasters like this in the States.

My only gripe about Motocoaster at Dreamworld had to do with the restraints, but I thought the ride itself was fun. Jet Rescue was a definite step up, though, and Juvelen looks even better. FreeFaller
Looks really awesome! What does Juvelen mean in Danish? I think it has something to do with cheering, but I'm not sure...

Alex1337
Juvelen means The Jewel in danish And boy do this ride look awesome! Can't wait to ride this one, and as many of you says, in some years this ride will look awesome with the jungle trees everywhere! I still think this ride needs a lot more theming, but I'm 100 % sure it will look sweet in a year or two
Alex1337
And FreeFaller, you might think of the word Jubel (jubelen) which means cheering
FreeFaller
^ Yeah, in German we have the word 'Juvelen' as well which exactly means 'Jewel' I just wondered if it could be the same Thanks!
