niiicolaaah
It seems to me like SO many things have changed since I was there in 2006... kind of want to remember it the way it was with the old Valhalla facade, Space Invader 2, Gold Mine the way it was and Rollercoaster NOT being Nickelodeon Streak... robbalvey
Oh, I man. I remember being at the park in 1999 watching Valhalla go up, and the Big One track used as supports was still bright red! I believe that track is also part of the original first drop of the ride.

Mark00us
i remember riding this in the summer of this year, loved the ride defiantly one of my favourite but it will be good and also bad to see the iconic ride change
Moose
Hopefully they only fix the problems with the facade but I admit I'm a bit worried they will remove some of the effects which make this ride awesome.
TPDave
^ I dont' think I've ever had a ride on Valhalla with all the effects working. If anything they could use this refurb to make some of the effects more reliable
Moose
I'm more worried that they will take this time to remove the problematic effects rather than repairing. I hope my pessimism is proven wrong. (crosses fingers)
COASTER FREAK 11
Has anything been released showing what they are planning on actually doing? They are taking off a lot more of that facade then I thought they were going to.
SharkTums
^Yeah, I'd be curious to see the artists plans or whatever for what they're doing.
COASTER FREAK 11
^I hear that they are taking that stair case from the ice show and using it to support new show elements Edited November 30, 2011 by COASTER FREAK
Moose
^^ I'd be surprised if there were plans of any sort artist, engineer, crayon..
robbalvey
Can we blame the old, problematic Arrow track as the reason why the facade needed to be removed?
Moose
Hide your wife hide your kids, Old Arrow Track is the new Intanin Cable.
Popcorn54
I found this picture on here of what the rides facade used to look like when it was just being built. Also heres another two photos It has been said it may take until summer for it to be fully finished.
gisco
I loved this ride. I liked how those flimsy ponchos you could get wouldn't keep you dry and would melt in the fire section.
cfc
I remember that waterfall right at the entrance of the show building. Unlike similar water effects at other parks, that thing does not shut off before your boat passes under it. I think the ponchos helped a wee bit, though. BigDipper 80
That use of Arrow track behind the original facade is both bizarre and kinda fascinating. I'd never heard of old track being repurposed like that before. Very funky.
andyuk200523
^ From a very reliable friend who was on a recent behind the scenes tour, it goes better than that......The main reason they are having to rehab the front of Valhalla is that as well as using the old Big One track, they used old track from the woodies on site that had been replaced, and it has all rotten beyond easy repair, hence the total removal of the front and refurb..... Funny story that was told during the behind the scenes tour.... Geoffrey Thompson was so keen on not spending unnecessary money (hence the above) when they converted the log flume from twin loading station to a single one, the staff ordered a brand new RSJ Beam for the building and painted it to look old so they wouldn't get in serious trouble!!! True Story!

larrygator
I should have asked sooner. Since Big One is still standing, where did this extra track come from? Was it originally part of Big One that was replaced or did extra track end up on site during construction that was never used on Big One?
A.J.
Maybe the Big One had the same sort of re-tracking done to some of the sections of Steel Phantom/Phantom's Revenge? You know, having Morgan come in, etc etc...
