bonsaiisuperstar Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Just wondering what coaster has the fastest lift hill? Was watching the i305 POV and that things HAULS up the lift hill.
Sir Clinksalot Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 SkyRush is also way up there, may even be faster. Not sure.
imawesome1124 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I305, Skyrush, and El Toro are probably the fastest lift hills.
PKI Jizzman Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 El Locos are extremely fast probably due to the light car. Â Â
gforce1994 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Just use sine cosine and tangents to find the length of the lift. Distance/Time = speed.
Ed Farmer Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 You're at the top of the vertical spike on a Vekoma GIB in short order.
rcdude Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I'm pretty sure Skyrush is fastest, followed by Intimidator 305, Millennium Force, and El Toro in that order. For coasters with a chain lift, generally the fastest lift hills are found on wild mouse coasters and other rides with single cars (except Eurofighters).
B&MIntaminGCI Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 For some reason I think Skyrush was like 2mph faster than I305 if I remember correctly...
DJeXeL Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 SkyRush is also way up there, may even be faster. Not sure. Â I knew I was missing something.
cmullin Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I think that El Toro has a really fast lift hill for a wooden coaster, maybe almost as fast as i305 and MF.
Coaster_Fanatic Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I want to say I-305, although El Toro's lift hauled butt as well.
JRHcoasterki Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 ^Maverick's "lift hill" is technically a launch.
Geauga Dog Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 For a B&M I thought Griffon's lift was pretty fast.
bonsaiisuperstar Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 Wow! That video above wins the slowest lift hill ever! I bet they claim it has 4 minutes of ride time when 3 minutes and 20 seconds of it is lift hill.
caffeine_demon Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 The lift hill on skyrush got a surprised "WHOAH" on my first go!
Loefet Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Wow! That video above wins the slowest lift hill ever! I bet they claim it has 4 minutes of ride time when 3 minutes and 20 seconds of it is lift hill. This one gives that type of coaster a run for it's money, considering the Slowest ever lift: Â One and a half minute lift for such tiny coaster.
Coaster Curt Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I keep watching those videos for slowest lift hills and laugh every time, how or better yet why are they so insanely slow?
Aceattack52 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Maverick's (Cedar Point) lift is pretty fast but it is probably beaten by Millenium Force or I305 or some other coaster with the cable lift like that.
CorkscrewFoley Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 The question remains as why are they so slow? I apologise for going off topic.
GayCoasterGuy Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Kudos for "something different." Plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and stuff I just hope they are running more than one train.
