Am I the only one surprised that 2 Mega Lite's ended up in the top 10? I haven't ridden one personally, but there doesn't seem to be much to them, and there are plenty of other coasters on this list that seem like they would have the same amount of intensity, if not more.

P.S. I would definitely expect the rides to end up around the same location on the list, since they are clones. I'm just surprised that they're so high!

I haven't been on one, but I'm not surprised at all. Intamin knows how to make a great little airtime machine, don't let the small stature fool you, airtime is what enthusiasts want, and these Mega-Lites surely deliver. Now please Intamin gods, BUILD ONE IN THE U.S.!!

I'm surpised to see Cheetah Hunt so low, in particular, at the bottom of the pack for BGT's coaster [sin Python]. I thought they had a winner and crowd pleaser with this new ride. I guess the longest line in the park doesn't mean the favorite?

^Cheetah Hunt definitely deserves better, but a lot of enthusiasts complain that it isn't "intense" enough for them. It's probably a bigger hit with the public than the enthusiast community.

I don't really understand why B&M inverted are generally considered better than sitdowns, but that apparently is maybe I have only been on 2 and 3 of them respectively, and even 2 of these back when I was one of the GP (Katun and DKhan)

But now I can say to anyone more GP than me that I have ridden world's first generic B&M looper, derp..

Need an England trip this year absolutely before I leave Europe..

You guys didn't see Shambala getting into the top 10? Remember Diamondback made a debut at like #5 or whatever when it opened? I'm pretty sure Behemoth did the same as well. The newer B&M hypers debut high, then level off. They're great coasters, just not the best.

I think that Shambhala will drop pretty quickly over the years. We've seen this in the poll before with B&M hypers and GCI's.

For instance, Diamondback and Prowler ranked really high in their first year, but as more well traveled enthusiasts made their way out to these rides they got hit with a dose of reality.

Side note: I am happy Nemesis is still holding so strong. That ride is insane.

Well I'm happy that Superman Escape managed to get enough votes to appear on the poll this year at #21, probably due to TPR's 2011 trip to Australia

Also really cool to see Nemesis still near the top of the poll despite being twice as old as many of the other coasters up there. Surprised Hair Raiser only placed at #58 considering the praise it received recently. Not saying it deserves top 10, but when Eejanaika places above it you know something is wrong

Yeah, I didn't love Cheetah Hunt but it was a fun ride. I get why it ranks lower on an predominately enthusiast poll like this.

I always find it interesting that Raptor at Cedar Point ranks so low compared to other larger B&M inverts. I personally prefer it to Dragons, Alpengeist, Afterburn, Batman, just about everything in America except maybe Montu. In fact Monster at Walyator Park, which is a clone of Raptor, ranks 20 spots higher which is interesting.

Even though I haven't ridden everything on the list, it's hard for me to really distinguish between everything between spots 20-80 or so. For example Is Diamondback at 26 that much better then Raging Bull at 57 or Silver Star at 76? When it gets outside the top 20-25 for me it's everything is pretty similar.

The only coaster that seems really out of place to me is Kumba at 33, I still think that is a top 10 coaster, maybe top 20 for this list.

I must say I was also surprised by shambhala. It's the only one on the top ten I've ridden but, in my opinion, I've ridden quite a few coasters better than that one. It's just not that forceful: it's fun, but that's it.

Still, a great ride that manages to appeal to a lot of people.

Am I blind' date=' or is this first year that Millennium Force did not make the top ten?[/quote']^It's about time!

Yeah, but remember that the Golden Tickets are like the Oscars for coaster (SEE out of touch). Amusement Today will still say Millemnium Force is #1 in September.

How come Nitro is still so far up on the list?

Hasn't it lost it's edge since it first opened up?

Also, I'm kind of sad to see the SWSD Manta down so far on the list (107) and Magnum down farther than last time (58 to 80 over two years).

Yeah I was sad to see little Manta so far down. I ended up putting in on my #9 spot out of about 105 coasters haha . Happy with the results overall though! There's definitely a lot of awesome rides in the top 10 that I need to ride someday.

Just a side-note on this. But Walygator is too cheap to use a midcourse or three trains. Where Raptor's midcourse is, Monster just has straight track with no brakes. It's possible that the Walygator version ranks higher because it potentially runs faster in the second half.

I have not been on Monster, so that is just me speculating/guessing.

Those who did the 2012 Europe trip mostly said that the 2nd half was really good due to the lack of the MCBR.

Yeah Skyrush!

Wow MForce all the way out of the top 10 now.

Shame, I know its the enthusiast thing to hate on it but IDK if 14 is worthy, but the populace has spoken.

Guess everything is as expected though Shambhala was a shock. I thought it'd be high, looks awesome, but not that high!

Also I was surprised that everyone who's ridden had Leviathan in their top 10...but this seems to reflect it better.

Are the mega lites really that great? Sure they are fun, but would any of you really say that they are deserving of such high spots? Maybe they are crazy forceful and it doesn't show on POV
