caruss866
Had a day for my son and so off to visit Six Flags in Arlington..I can't remember a more disappointing time than what I experienced yesterday. I have long enjoyed the park in the past, but as I watched the years go by I am forced to take notice of how sad this once great park has now fallen as a steady decline of customer dissatisfaction and disappointment continue to mount. I thought the visit was unoriginal, fake, and boring. So was the scenery from the present attractions to the old and dilapidatede of better times gone by. It feels as if Six Flags of Texas today is just riding the wave of it's former glory. What a delusion the Board of Directors must be in to continue this fatal course for a once great theme park. It has NO aesthetics, nostalgic appeal, or originality. Maybe the current owners need to visit REAL theme parks like Knotts Berry Farm, or Silver Dollar City to rekindle there creative genius and put something together to rescue this abandon idea beyond adrenaline junkie rides and swaray of expensive gimmicks , which are O.K. but are definatley not the essence of great theme parks alone. I can only say that I felt abandoned to my $59.99 ticket cost at the gate and entering a fun park that appears to revel in there accomplishments that are a step above a traveling carnival. - - - Chris R. - - "In the interest of Great Theme Park Experiences and Originality" Edited August 27, 2012 by caruss866

SharkTums
I'd love to hear some more specific details from your visit that made you so angry. You'll find that most of us who have been to all of the Six Flags and big chain parks agree that SFoT is one of the few that still has some charm and real rides/attractions. cfc
I visited SFOT in 2011 and had the opposite experience. I think it's one of the best parks in the chain, along with Six Flags Over Georgia. While I agree that Silver Dollar City is a better park overall, I think SFOT has a lot going for it.

bert425
wow. . that's a whole lot of words up there, with really no specifics. with no specfics to address, I don't see the point. sheesh. . . I guess i"m saying you'd get more sympathy from me if you said, "we went, it was too hot, and the park doesn't have enough shade" but really from what you posted here, it just sounds like you're upset it's not Knott's Berry Farm (no CHICKEN! NO BOYSENBERRY PIE! BOOOOOOOO!!!!!) oh, and ETA: what a great first post.

The Yeti
I was there a week ago and was very pleased with the staff. I've only been to two Six Flags parks, but it was more than I expected from prior visits! I was very surprised to read this. Sure it isn't the most beautiful park, and it's in the middle of a city in an area that presents no charm (nothing at all like SDC), but in terms of scenery I think you're holding Six Flags up to a standard that it can't and won't meet. I get what you think the park is lacking...but it's Six Flags.

Philrad71
Just curious as to when was the last time you visited Knotts Berry Farm? My first visit was only this year, but I found the park to be to much like a smaller, cramped version of Cedar Point with a worse coaster & ride collection (save for MR & Accelerator). I have heard that the park has over-commercialized since Cedar Fair took over and it certainly had that feel to me as well. Unless I can make it out for a WCB, this will be a one and done park for me...save for some future crazy coaster addition. While I haven't visited SFOT, from what I have seen on the trip reports it looks like one of the best Six Flags parks with a great collection of rides and coasters. It's definitely on my bucket list...and I have my fingers crossed that when we reshuffle the customer base where I work that one of my customers is in Denton (and another in Arlington), which is not that far away from the park! Mrlittle
I've been to SFOT twice this season. I had no problems with employees or the rides. The theming and cleanliness is actually not bad for a Six Flags. I remember using a restroom in SFOT and actually saying "this restroom is really clean". Both trips, I had employees joking with me. Overall I enjoyed both of my trips this season.

supertrooper
I doubt the dude is ever going to post again. It seems like he just wanted to rant about his day. The same post is probably copied and pasted on tripadvisor and yelp. He most likely just googled "review theme parks" and this is what he got. To date, SFOG and SFOT are my two favorite parks in the chain. It actually makes sense in my opinion that these two parks are the best. I read somewhere that SFOG and SFOT are managed by Six Flags but owned by a group of people that includes the founder's family. Because of this, the owners run the parks the way they were meant to be ran instead of the way Six Flags has the other parks ran.
