They tore Cliff Lee's ass up the first game he pitched against them with The Rangers! Not a big fan of Buck Showalter, but he is good for them. We sat in the Outfield Reserve section which were awesome seats, but what wasn't so awesome was the ruckus happening pass the Pirates foliage in the Bleachers Seats. Â Â The man was kicked out for disturbing the other fans and on his way out he hit a security guard and he got tasered and hit multiple times by Pittsburgh Police. I feel like this was excessive force. Â *For some reason the youtube tags weren't working. Â Edit: Oh yeah, here's video of Doumit's home run which landed 3 rows ahead of me. Â ^You know what... you must be speaking of the superficial (we only like them win they win) fans because true Pirates fans have nothing to be disappointed about. And it was security's fault????? Are you serious?? Â From where you were seated, you couldn't possibly have seen or heard anything close enough to make a sound decision on the matter. What I saw on YouTube was the exact same vantage point you had. Over my life I've been to plenty of games where plenty of fights have broken out. Unless you're A) A participant in the altercation, or B) Sitting within range to clearly overhear or oversee what transpires, all you have to go on is seeing a section of the stadium suddenly rise to their feet. Â The bottom line is this: resisting arrest is still...wait for it....resisting arrest. None of us really know all that was said before the camera picked up the action. I think it's fairly obvious, based on various reports, that the guy was drunk, disturbing other fans, and refused to leave the stadium before the police were forced to intervene and escort him from his seat. All of that sounds like standard protocol from anything I've ever witnessed at a game. Â When the guy gets to the base of the stairs, he tries to "high five" someone, and a security guard is caught between them. He then hits/shoves the security guard. Okay, again, we don't know everything leading up to that point, but obviously this is where the police deemed it necessary to taser the guy. Â Whether you agree with the quick trigger or not, the fact is the guy was unfazed by it, and repeatedly resisted police. The fact that he did not drop the unidentified object he was holding didn't help his case any. I'm sorry, but the way I see it, if a cop repeatedly tells you to drop something and submit.......YOU DO IT. PERIOD. Â Put yourself in the mindset of those cops at that very moment. It's not necessarily the fact that the perp wasn't cooperating, OR that he was possibly posing a huge threat to them. Take into account that they're now surrounded by hundreds of possibly unruly fans (remember, based on the ignorant "USA" chants, we don't now exactly who they were in support of. Was it mocking, or were they anti-establishment fueled toward the cops? Can you say for sure??) Â You call it excessive force. I call it taking control of a situation before it escalates into something potentially much much worse. If it had been me in those cops' shoes, it would've taken every ounce of self control not to beat the everliving hell out of that dbag. I'm loving whats going on in BAHSTIN though. I don't think thats going to continue either, but it's extremely satisfying coming off an offseason that netted Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, and 100+ win expectations. It's a logical, and intelligently crafted response of my opinion on the matter, as opposed to "Well actually I'm right because I was there and it was excessive force." In the end, it doesn't matter what either of our opinions are, but if you're gonna debate something or match wits with me on an internet forum, then at least make a little effort to form a response with some substance. He'll recover, but how long until his next injury  On the Pirates vid: The cops were over this line in this one, reminded me of one of those "bully videos" you see on YT on occasion, the cops were looking to start trouble and had a crowd that was looking at jumping into the fracas themselves. Hell, if I just tasered someone and they didn't even flinch, you bet your ass I'd try everything in my power to get them subdued. There's no telling what they could do to me or my fellow officers. I am just glad that we have a good group of utility guys, makes it hurt alot less when we lose a bat like Joshs. I really like Murphy, he is such a clutch hitter. Giant Bash, would you be up for some baseball at "The Temple?" Rangers have a 7:05 game that friday night vs. the Halos and a 2:05 sunday matinee game as well.. After the quick start against Cle, KC and TB, the Sox just haven't been right. On May 3 they are already flirting with "no coming back from this far out" territory. After the quick start against Cle, KC and TB, the Sox just haven't been right. On May 3 they are already flirting with "no coming back from this far out" territory. Easily the most let down I've been by my team since I've been a fan. This was supposed to be a World Series contender, not an abortion. Â As a Cubs fan, I don't mind seeing the Sox struggle. I do, however, still go to their games as well, because I'm a baseball fan at heart, and don't care who I see. I'm as perplexed by their struggles. I thought they had a pretty good team, with a weak bullpen, in a division ripe for the taking by any of the teams (except KC ). Baffling. Â At least with the Cubs this year, I expected them to suck! It's still a chance to see NL ball and teams that wouldn't normally filter through the Cell. The girls are better there too.
